From the minute I met Mr Tappin I knew I was in good hands. After having had a failed cataract operation I approached Mike. He firstly did the cataract on the other eye and made the whole experience so less frightening and I had a great result. Recently I underwent laser correction on the initial eye and though it has only been a few days I’m very happy. I would highly recommend Mr Tappin to everyone considering eye surgery.

My 1st surgery with Mr Tappin was 19th Feb . and 2nd 4th March 2024. I had the Refractive Lens Exchange & both surgery were pleasant . I was so nervous but I was reassured and put at ease at every stage of the process by not just Mr Tappin but also his team & hospital staff at Mount Alvernia Guildford .

Mr Tappin did a brilliant job , and explaining to me during the surgery & giving me instruction to look at the light , informing me what’s going on etc . And it went so smoothly & did not feel any discomfort.
I am happy with the results and my family were pleased too. In fact my son in law was thinking of having laser treatment in the near future .

I have also already mentioned Mr Tappin to my friend who is waiting for a cataract surgery & told her , that if she ever consider going private that I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Tappin.

Mr Rakesh Jayaswal performed a cataract operation for my right eye on 13 October 2023. The result was an outstanding success. The result was so good that I then requested Mr Rakesh Jayaswal to perform a cataract operation on my left eye. This was carried out on 05 January 2024. The result was an equally outstanding success.

My wife also has a cataract problem in both eyes, and there is only one eye surgeon whom I would recommend for my wife. This is obviously Mr Rakesh Jayaswal. I know that my wife will be in excellent hands. Mr Rakesh Jayaswal is an outstanding eye surgeon in all respects, and I have total confidence in him.

Life changing. I am 23, and had been short-sighted since the age of 14. I contacted LaserVision, and within a month I had a consultation and surgery date for Lasik.

The team are wonderful at LaserVision, both Vicky and Rakesh are absolutely fantastic.

My eyes are now 6.38/6 (better than 20/20)!

The surgery is completely pain-free. You lie down, have a couple of drops put in your eyes, look at a green dot for about 3 minutes, and then it's done. No pain, no discomfort.

In terms of recovery, I had mild soreness for the first two days, but this easily solved by using the eye drops provided.

After those two days, my eyes were perfect. I remained a bit sensitive to glare at night, but that disappeared after two weeks. At no point did I ever lose my vision (I know this is a worry for some people).

I cannot recommend LaserVision Portsmouth enough. An incredible team who provide an exceptional experience.

I was very nervous about having laser cataract surgery but elected to be sedated (given a [chill] pill) and the worst part for me was having eye drops pre op. The operation itself was not a problem as Mr Tappin talked me through the surgery which was reassuring and also painless. I had laser surgery on the other eye 2 weeks later and again chose to be sedated although I had no worries about the operation. All my friends who had previously had cataract surgery had recommend Mr Tappin and I am very pleased with the results.

Mike Tappin was extremely thorough, fully explaining every step to me. His assistant was first class as were the nursing staff at Nuffield. Nothing was too much trouble and although I was very nervous Mike Tappin put me at ease from my first consultation. I would highly recommend him to anyone who requires eye surgery.

Rakesh and the team were amazing. Technically brilliant, ie they delivered on what they promised and super friendly, helpful, flexible and caring. Their facility in Portsmouth is modern, clean and very comfortable.

I am very happy with the treatment I received and am more than pleased the success of the cataract operations . I am very grateful to Mr Tappin for his care and attention.

The day of the procedure, my first observation was that the treatment and attention from Dr. Mike Tappin's nurses were first-rate, putting me at ease from the get-go, and keeping me abreast throughout. Irrespective of the assurances from Dr. Tappin, I was somewhat concerned about how uncomfortable (squeamish) the procedure was but honestly, I should have heeded his assurances, the procedure took 20 minutes for both eyes and it was a breeze, I was kept informed throughout. It's been just over a week since the procedure and I can confirm Dr Tappin 'delivered' exactly what I wanted, perfect vision!!!

I had my cateract's done on the NHS & wanted to have laser surgery to correct my reading & distance. Mike recommended piggy back lenses as my eyes are very dry. Had my surgery 10 weeks ago & they have settled in very well. I can now read & do everyday things without glasses. Would highly recommend Mike Tappin & LaserVision.

Laser Vision at Prema Clinic in Portsmouth is very professional, from the office staff to the ophthalmic consultants. The office staff are very caring and respond to all questions. They are a happy crew and always spare a couple of minutes for cheery exchanges. Vicky, the ophthalmist, is very professional and friendly, and always takes time to explain procedures. Rakesh, the consultant ophthalmic surgeon, is also very professional, caring, cheery with a personable manner and gave me great confidence in his skills. He always took a moment before and after the procedures to ensure that I was comfortable with what was happening. He also on each visit explained to my husband what was being done which eased his mind. Overall I feel very happy with how I was treated at the Laser Clinic.

I was nervous to have cataract surgery, but after my consultation with Geeta and Mr Tappin I felt reassured and am now so pleased to have undergone this procedure

First time at the clinic in Portsmouth today, and to say it is stunning is an understatement. Beautifully calm, super clean and just a gorgeous environment to be treated in. The staff are courteous and helpful and free coffee(always a plus).
I was impressed from the first phone conversation through to surgery and aftercare. Refractive Lens Replacement was slightly scary to be honest, but I felt in safe hands with Rakesh. Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, informative and importantly, very experienced. To be honest, it was and is continuing to be, a hugely positive experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend him and his team to anyone considering this operation. I am absolutely thrilled with the results as have now ditched the glasses and contacts..and I have 20/20 distance vision. Exactly what I wanted. Very good saff friendly and helpful, doctor who treated me was good. Whent for treatment for eye floater one quite big ring type floater. Would say after treatment that vast majority of it has been removed with a painless quick laser treatment only a couple of small dark specks remain, but hopefully will settle down over time.
