Excellent speed and customer service improved

We were on fibre to the cabinet previously with BT like most of us are still. The speed was very slow and often if someone was watching Netflix or any high bandwidth application it would effect everyone else on the network.

I went with Highland Broadband as soon as they were available in our area as I know how much faster fibre to the premise really is. I went for the starting package and it’s leagues faster than my old connection. Even upload speed is very good and symmetric with the download.

Now, I like to use my own network gear as I find it to be more reliable and gives me more control than ISP provided gear.

They do require PPPoE details that need to go into your Gateway or Router, so I gave them a call and the guy gave me the details. Worked like a charm and now everything is up and running with the whole house getting WiFi.

All in all very good ISP. Keep in mind if you need to host servers like games you’ll need to pay extra each month for a static IP. They don’t have IPv6 yet and are using CGNAT. If you know what all this means then you probably need a static IP.

Yasmin was great today on the phone

Yasmin was great today on the phone, knowledgeable, personable. Hopefully HB will provide a proper 4 port normal power router for the house, right now the signal very weak just a fewer meters away from the hall.

The installation team did a great job…

Installation service

Steven and Nathan came today to install our broadband and were faced with a bit of a set back at the onset due to the design of the property and then a few issues along the way
They problem solved all the issues and kept us informed of everything they were doing as they went along and happy to answer any questions we had

The engineer did a good job and was…very impressed with his attitude

The engineer did a good job and was only hampered by a technical issues which your tech department sorted out ,poor man had to battle against weather conditions wind n cold n had to walk to junction box but he did a great job and explained it all with me and was very patient with me as I am not technical minded and suffer from anxiety issues
