Stockport store never pick up the phone…

Stockport store never pick up the phone order an item no response contact help phone line for help only to be told that the Stockport store is not answering the phone so they emailed the manager to get in touch but he hasn’t simply don’t know what to do now totally disgusting customer service I will never purchase of them again 😡

I booked my car in to have a DPF flush…

I booked my car in to have a DPF flush on my Range Rover evoque it came up with two faults in the system “ glow plug & NOx sensor so obviously from this they couldn’t do the flush , they then sent me a quote ( which I didn’t ask for) for £1600 ! So I decided to take it to a Landrover specialist who told me that it wasn’t as simple as just replacing these parts and it could be faulty wiring or the Ad blue tank … so I’m very glad I didn’t take it back to those no clue idiots to rip me off .. people beware and if you take your car in for anything get a second opinion before you commit! 1 star only because I couldn’t do a No star review !

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I took my Tesla Model 3 to Halfords Swinton for an MOT and full service on Monday 25th August (Bank Holiday). My car was completely silent before, passed with no advisories, and was returned making loud creaking and clicking noises.

When I took it back, Halfords said the suspension arms were worn and advised replacement. They fitted new 3rd-party suspension arms — replacing quality Tesla parts — and later refunded me after I complained that the noise was still there. But just weeks later, Tesla confirmed in writing that those same new arms already have play in the ball joints and need replacing again, making the car unsafe to drive.

Tesla also found several faults that should have failed the MOT if they’d existed at the time, proving the checks were not done correctly. Halfords’ own regional manager admitted that “play in ball joints is an MOT failure,” which Tesla has now verified is present.

Halfords promote a workmanship guarantee, yet haven’t honoured it or refunded the MOT and service costs. They’ve also not responded about the suspension arms they fitted that now need replacing again. I rely on this car daily to take my 9-year-old child to school, Tesla confirmed in writing that driving it in current condition is at my own risk.

I trusted a national brand for safety and quality, and was badly let down.

Was told to use help.halfords.com to discuss further and have the issue resolved quicky with no direction to who to reach out to or what to do since I have already made multiple attempts to have this resolved with customer services.

Halfords Widnes Get Ten Out Of Ten

So many awful reviews about Halfords that I have to say the opposite of Halfords in Widnes. I first rang the helpline to ask about a new battery for my car, and the guy could not of been more helpful. I then went to the store where the staff were cheerful and helpful. The female staff member tested my old battery and then replaced it with a new one, giving me a choice of prices. Great service, well done Halfords Widnes

A joke company

This company is a joke. I signed up for the Motoring Club and paid my £54. Some time later I attempted to book an MOT, but couldn't do so - I couldn't log on the my account. I contacted customer services to be told that my membership had been rejected because, although I had been a member two years ago I had cancelled last year! My £54 was refunded and I went elsewhere for my MOT. Yesterday I booked tyre replacements with Halfords and asked for fitting at home. My money was taken and an appointment given. An hour or so later I was emailed and told that no tyre fitters were available in my area, and I was told I would be refunded. My initial payment was taken instantly but I'm told that the refund will take several days! Steer clear of Halfords.

my van had its mot at Aintree Halfords…by cowboys

my van had its mot at Aintree Halfords and was told it needed a rubber bush on the wish bone arm , but Halfords said it wasn't possible to just change the rubber bush so they would have to change the entire wish bone at a cost of over £250 . i found out later it is possible to change the rubber bush and that would have cost less than £100 . any way after the wish bone had been replaced my van had a knocking sound coming from the same side the wish bone had been fitted so i took my van back to be checked out 3 times in a week and on the 3rd time i was told the knocking was coming from a worn track rod end on the opposite side to where the knocking was coming from , i said why wasn't this picked up on the MOT last week, and the mechanic said he didn't know because he wasn't an MOT inspector wow !!!! , Halfords wanted another £246 to replace the track rod and track rod end , i asked would this fix the knocking he said he didn't know , but he said if they fitted the new parts and it didn't stop the knocking they would remove the new parts and fit my old parts back on with out charging me ,wow!!!!!
so i got another mechanic to have a look and he told yes the track rod end and track rod needed replacing and it should have been picked up on the MOT and also my front breaks were shot and also should have been picked up on during the MOT ,
this new mechanic only charged me £149 to replace the track rod and track rod end nearly £100 cheaper than Halfords so i had him do my front breaks too , and while doing my breaks he found that one of the new bolts on the track rod had not been tightened up to its recommended settings , so he tightened it up and the knocking stopped , never again will i use Halfords for anything a bunch of cowboys

Stay off, not professional

I took my car for battery change. They changed it but couldn’t get the car to start. Car stayed one week with them for nothing, I later recovered the car to local garage and they got it working in 30minutes. They refused taking responsibility for their incompetent staff.

Be aware of cancellation

I joined the motoring club on. 17th September I have tried to cancel since 24th September after my family were not happy about it Im l85 and although it was my choice at the time it wasn't the right one.Ive tried contacting Halfords but it's an absolute nightmare. I've sent numerous emails with no response The bank have now blocked any further payments This was cancelled during the cooling off period and the one and only time I spoke to someone I was told it could be cancelled but I would have to pay £54 + for the years subscription it's been an absolute nightmare Im now going to contact the consumers rights department I received a £10 voucher when I joined which I am aware I need to repay but can't do this because they will not respond to my emails

Disgraceful customer service

Disgraceful customer service. On Wednesday 15th October I took my car into National Tyres at Brislington in Bristol through my membership to Halfords Motoring Club Premium where I had booked it in for an MOT and Full service. Straight away there was a problem as I was told they were unable to carry out the MOT due to the ramp being out of order. They said they had notified customers of this but I hadn't received anything.I left my car for the service and after getting a call at 5.30 pm( I had dropped it off at 8.30am ) I collected it. When driving away my car was making a loud revving noise which it obviously wasn't doing when I left the car. I returned to National Tyres who looked under the bonnet and they couldn't see any problem so they then decided to drive it around the block, returning even saying that "it sounded good". After looking again under the bonnet they found that the pipe connecting to the air filter was unattached - obviously this was a mistake by the mechanic who must have neglected to reattach it during the service. They rectified this and I drove away. I parked outside my house for a while and then went out in the car. On returning I saw a big pool of oil where I had been parked previously and when I looked under the car there was a massive oil leak - obviously caused by National tyres as again there was no problem with my car before the service. When checking I could see the oil was now at 50% - as part of a service is to renew the oil this shows that half of the oil had already leaked and it continued to do so overnight. First thing the next day after several attempts using the automated phone service I eventually got through to someone and explained that due to the staff at that branch being incompetent I now had a car I couldn't use as I don't know how much oil is left and therefore need it to be towed back to have the problem rectified. I was then told there was a 3-7 working day wait for them to get back in contact to let me know what was going to happen. I work 270 miles away and I am out of pocket due to having to get insured on a family members car. I am now out of pocket financially and have been caused lots of inconvenience due to the incompetence and general lack of customer service from Halfords and National Tyres. Why should I have to wait when its quite clear that they are in the wrong. I belong to Halfords Motoring Club Premium and pay monthly for this service so as part of this my MOT should have been free and I payed over £240 for them to cause my car not to function. As a result of the MOT not happening I have had to book it into a different garage but obviously I am unable to take it now due to not being able to drive my car. So I am further impacted financially as I will have to pay for a non Halfords MOT. After the unprofessional and shoddy workmanship I wouldn't feel confident using a Halfords affiliated Mechanic anymore anyway. The job number for the service is: 174/9013014. MOTORING CLUB WARNING!

I initially joined the club just under 2 years ago. They do not make it clear that the subscription auto renews which it did last year although I didnt do anything about it. This year, I was on it and tried to cancel before renewal was due only to find out this is not an easy process! I filled out the online cancellation form approx 5 times, I had an email and telephone call days ago(trying to persuade me to stay) and both said they would cancel but my account still stated it was due to renew. I contacted them via their online chat and was told it hadn't been cancelled then the chat response ended when I asked them to cancel. It was only after making another phone call that they finally cancelled!! My advice would be to not get tied in to a subscription as they make it very difficult to leave.

“Just keep waiting” “sorry about your order”

I ordered a part from you with 1-2 days delivery, 2 weeks later no part, no one can help or tell me anything, your “team” are asking the courier where my part is that you haven’t even shipped - tracking is pretty useful like that! I’m told I can’t speak to the team I just have to wait! I can’t speak to complaints I just have to believe they raised a complaint on my behalf but I don’t get to say what the complaint says! You have my money and I just get the run around and I’m told to keep waiting keep waiting keep waiting - how long for Halfords - it’s theft to take someone’s money and give them nothing in return! It’s breach of contract to put terms in place and default on them. “Just keep waiting” “just keep waiting” oh your car is off the road and you have been stranded for 2 weeks - nobody cares “sorry” is such an easy word to bandy about isn’t it! Disgusting service.

Reversing camera fitted

We had a reversing camera fitted on our Golf today by Max at Halfords Havant. We are very happy with both the camera and the service we received. Not all branches have qualified fitters but the centralised number for Halfords had helped us locate the nearest branch where we could have this camera fitted. Professional and friendly, we are very satisfied.

Don't complete work

They had the car 6 hours and replaced two front tyres!, couldn't do the alignment as requested because it was seized, but honda were able to complete the job in an hour! Doesnt feel like a professional garage when they cant carry out the job. Was registered for brakes for life, but its a joke, everytime I have need new brake pads they tell me im not registered, ive had enough and will not be using again

Horrendous MOT experience

Horrendous MOT experience. Numerous suspicious “dangerous” fails where they “lost” the items. E.g. supposedly worn brake pads. I had never even had advisories for them before and have only done 1500 miles in the last year. They just want to trap you into paying for work as you can’t then drive off if it’s “dangerous”

Cancelled order with absolutely no contact to me as of why

Ordered a scooter for pickup at my local branch yesterday. Received an email this morning one stating id had a refund and a second one stating the order had been cancelled and that halfords would be in contact with me telling me the reason why. Yet nothing fantastic customer service id say cancelled ur orders with no explanation also apparently I went back online to see if it would let me order it again and states getting more stock on Wednesday the 15 so why not just call if it was a stock issue and say sorry we out of stock but if you don't mind waiting a few days as we getting more in I would of not minded. Now I have to wait 5 days for a refund even thow they quick enough to take ur money Absolute shambles will not be dealing with again.

booked and paid online twice at Halfords Selly Oak (Birmingham) for fittings (headlights AUD and Mercedes wipers). On both visits I waited a long time only to be told the parts couldn’t be fitted — once they said they only can change one unit, and another time the part didn’t fit despite my car details and the website recommendation. Staff were dismissive and I wasted time and had to change my travel plans — very disappointing.
Also Staf are very rude behind the desk

Worst Customer Service Ever - Mile End (London Store)

Received the worst customer service ever in London from an employee named Zubair at the Mile End store in London on Friday. He's rude, dismissive and was rude to my 5 year old son - a child!. I surely will not be spending my money in Halfords again.

If I could give ZERO stars I would! Spend your money elsewhere.

I booked an appointment at Halfords in…

I booked an appointment at Halfords in Bodmin, Cornwall because my CarPlay stopped working (USB port stopped working) & a lovely guy named Justin helped diagnose the issue & recommended a vent holder for my phone, so that I could at least view Google maps whilst driving back to London, given the map would not display on my screen. I am grateful to Justin for his help. Thank you!
