Second time this year I have visited, yes, it is that good. Andy, Sarah & Lauren are so welcoming taking time to show my granddaughter (3yo) the various farm animals and getting her to observe the higher care welfare feeding regimes. My grandson (14yo) loved being involved in some of the farm activities. The cottage (The Croft, in my case), is fully equipped, wonderfully clean, comfortable and welcoming. Location is brilliantly isolated and yet within easy reach, there are lovely walks in the vicinity or by going a little further afield. I’ve booked for next year, kind of says it all.

Just returned from a week in the Dairy . Wow! Sarah, Lauren and Andy are great hosts. They really have thought about everything and do their best to make your holiday memorable. Their farm is so beautiful and peaceful . We slept well in a super comfortable bed with high quality bedding, in fact everything in the cottage is of a very high standard. Great attention to detail. Lovely walks from
farm and 2 great golf courses close by. Really enjoyed visiting Kirkcubright and Threave house , so much to see in the area. A hidden gem!

Sarah, Andy & Lauren work extremely hard to make our visit to Grobdale as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The location is very peaceful and the cottage was first class and excellent value for money. We loved the option to order a delicious meal ready to ‘pop in the oven’ on arrival - what a great idea after a long journey on the road. The welcome pack including freshly laid eggs is super and the availability of their Farm Shop gives guests further options. They have thought of everything to make our stay complete - and we look forward to going back again as soon as we can.

We had an excellent holiday hosted by lovely people.
The cottages are well appointed, warm and comfortable.
You can walk directly from the door and because you are away from the road it’s very quiet and peaceful.
We ate Pork and Lamb grown on the farm from the farm shop freezer , it was excellent.
Gatehouse is not far away and a pleasant surprise as it is quite entrepreneurial has everything we needed.

A holiday at Grobdale will press the reset button in a matter of hours. Superb accommodation- Sarah and Andy have thought of everything. Beautifully converted buildings to an exceptionally high standard - extremely comfortable and welcoming. Lovely area to explore or just kick back and enjoy the variety of wildlife and animals. Booking at lambing season adds an extra element that is something special.

We had a lovely two weeks in The Croft in March. We have stayed many times at Grobdale each trip has been delightful. Sarah, Andy and Lauren are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. All the cottages are spotless and very comfortable. We were lucky enough to see the first two lambs born this year and name one of them Robbie. We will return very soon to see more of the lambs. Lots to see and do in the area.

Sarah and Andy are both outstanding hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and they are very happy to involve you in the working farm as much as you like.
The accommodation is excellent. Impeccable attention to detail and spotlessly clean. The cottages have everything you need whether staying in or going out.
Can't fault the provision it is really exceptional.
Thank you for yet another wonderful experience.

What a lovely weekend we spent staying with Sarah and family in the croft cottage at Grobdale. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need, beautifully decorated with really nice soft furnishings. We took Sarah up on the option of food being supplied (very reasonable price) for us and was not disappointed, excellent quality steak pie and lasagna, highly recommend!! We had our dog Harris with us and he was welcomed with his own goody pack of treats, bowls, towels and a ball, brilliant addition,he loved meeting everyone and the long walks along the farm tracks in between the storms.
The only downside to our weekend was the weather but that's out of everyone's control. We made the most of it and loved having the log burner on most of the weekend, was so good to sit back in front of the fire with a glass of wine and watch the weather blow down the valley, very relaxing. The surrounding area of Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet gave us lots of countryside areas to explore with our dog Harris.
Would highly recommend Grobdale as a break away from the hustle and bustle of life. 💖

Another wonderful stay at Grobdale. We stayed in the croft this time out which was lovely and cozy for the two of us and our small dog. A lovely welcome hamper and plenty of logs to keep the fire going for the week. Thanks to Sarah, Andy and Lauren for another great week.

We found this beautiful spot by chance - best decision we made to go to this venue - 5 star accommodation, hospitality and attention to detail. Modern, yet luxurious and very comfortable. Thank you Sarah and Andy for such an amazing place to have our holiday- thank you to for your insights and for being so helpful. Got to come back again. Marinda and Gordon (Australia).

Absolutely amazing stay at the Croft in January. The accommodation has everything you could possibly need. The wood burner kept us warm, the beautiful shower kept us clean and the comfy beds allowed us to rest well. Not to mention the delicious hogget haggis to celebrate burns night! Thanks so much x
We could jot of had a better stay. I booked here for a quite break for my partners birthday and we could not recommend it more. The property was so clean and cosy. The bed was so comfortable. But what made our trip was Sarah, Andy and family. They were so welcoming and friendly and were there if we needed anything. We had a little tour arround the farm. Our dog also loved the farm aswell but especially loved Jim the farm dog and the pigs!
I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
A lovely cottage with all you need to have a luxury secluded stay away. The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas with lovely goodies for the family to enjoy. Andy, Sarah and Lauren are very welcoming and more than happy to introduce you to the animals on the farm. Our kids didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return.
