Super accommodation, really well equipped and in an idyllic setting.

A fabulous 5* cottage, location, and owners.
It's a great place if you have a dog as some great walks.

This was our second time at Grobdale and it remains a perfect location for the most relaxing holiday you could want.
Hosts Sarah, Andrew and Lauren ensure that the accommodation is spotless, comfortable and simply just a delight to stay in. Everything has been thought of very carefully, kitchens have all the equipment you could want, beds and bedding are super and the whole property is so lovely to relax in.
We have already booked our next years stay and can see this becoming a regular holiday spot.

We spent an amazing week at Grobdale. Thank you Sarah Andrew and Lauren for providing an opportunity for us to experience staying on your farm and to meet your animals. Our four legged friend became fascinated by the Tamworth pigs and insisted on seeing them every day.
We were accommodated in The Dairy which was extremely comfortable and luxurious. A welcome hamper with local goodies and treats with a toy for our dog were much appreciated.

It was so peaceful to come back to after a day out. Just the sound of sheep bleating in the distance. Sitting outside surrounded by beautiful scenery untill the sun set. Absolutely blissful.

Grobdale is in a stunning, peaceful location, with easy access to great places for walks and to visit. The Croft is beautifully decorated with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Sarah and Andrew are lovely hosts and are clearly passionate about the welfare of their animals and sustainability of their farming and the accommodation they offer. Would highly recommend.

We stayed August Bank Holiday week in "The Croft". A one bedroom cottage which is a real home from home experience. You could easily live here permanently. Fantastic view from the picture window. Everything you needed was there, including a coffee machine & air fryer. Comfortable bed & fantastic powerful double shower. The sausage & bacon from the farm shop is great. We even brought some home. The welcome pack was great. The location is literally in the middle of nowhere, although you had the likes of Castle Douglas, Kirkcudbright, Gatehouse of Fleet, Newton Stewart & New Galloway not to far away. Andy, Sarah and Lauren, The owners are never far away & are very friendly people. Certainly recommend a stay if you want a quiet location.

Fantastic week at Grobdale! The Byre was top spec and had everything we needed, the welcome pack was especially appreciated.
Sarah, Andy and Lauren were on hand to provide information when asked, but weren't intrusive at all.
Kids loved getting involved helping out on the farm and asking random questions.
We'll be back!

Right from the start, I knew Grobdale was going to be a special place to make memories again and again ..

My daughter has Sensory needs so finding somewhere suitable for everyone’s needs prior to booking is really important to our family. I can honestly say that grobdale went above and beyond anything I have ever experienced before in terms of customer care and experience. We were treated as individuals right from the second I enquired, and offered a bespoke experience to ensure that my daugher was given the best possible experiences.

A pre-video and photos/sensory story were offered as well as any other bespoke touches which would make our stay more comfortable. Even the cottages have been carefully designed to ensure that sensory overload is kept to a minimum, with a wonderful informative introduction to this should you need it and discussion prior about how the layout could be changed to help adapt to need.

Upon arrival , my little girl recieved a personalised sensory bucket of items which were such a special extra that really made us feel welcomed . Nothing at all during our stay felt too much trouble. Our elderly dog (13) was also treated like a queen and the little touches for her were also fantastic.

My little girl loves to be ‘hands on’ and this is something that Grobdale took in their stride. Everything felt really felt special and second nature to them and like a weight lifted from what would normally be a really stressful holiday lead up and starter:

We had the most magical experience from start to finish and made special memories to last forever - Grobdale has stolen a piece of all our hearts and I know that it will continue to play a special part in the memories that we make as a family in many years to come.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful location. Very comfortable super king bed, great shower and fully equipped with everything you might need. One of the best cottages we have had for some time with regard to style and comfort. Owners lovely, helpful when needed but not obtrusive in any way. Would definitely book again.

We loved our stay at Grobdale. The 1-bed cottage was perfectly designed for a couple, was beautifully decorated, with a very well-equipped kitchen, and was very comfortable. It sits in breathtaking scenery, and the owners couldn't have been friendlier.

Gorgeous location very peaceful and out of the way . Properties are well designed and provide a pleasant Base to return to each day the welcimbe pack is much appreciated . Sarah ,Andy and Lauren are welcoming and very helpful nothing is too much trouble . The little farm shop sells excellent quality bacon and sausages etc .much to see in the area if you are a fan of the movie the wickerman and even if you are not . Old churches harbours villages and towns lochs to sit by only sound an occasional bird flying overhead . The cafes in gatehouse of fleet dog friendly and all do exceptionally good food. . We hope to return soon all being well x

We stayed in the Byre for a week. Everything about it was amazing. Even bigger and better than the pictures online. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine all week which only enhanced the picturesque setting. Sarah and Andy are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We (including our dog) loved the walks on the nearest beaches (Mossyard and Dhoon) especially when the tide was out. Our visit to the local Red Kite Centre was fantastic where hundreds of Red Kites are fed daily at 2pm. All within 20-30mins drive from Grobdale. Highly recommend and can't wait to return.

Dairy,a beautiful cottage at Grobdale of Girthon.The hosts Sarah and Andy had thought of everything to make our stay a memorable one . From a welcome hamper,ice in the freezer to special treats for our four legged friend!!! It is a great place to relax, meet the animals on the farm and visit the gorgeous local areas.

This was our second time staying in the Dairy and it was as good as the first time! Sarah and Andy went out of their way to help my husband organise birthday treats and beyond what was expected as host. We all throughly enjoyed the week. Our daughter loved riding in the tractor and feeding the animals (so much so that she had decided that she is going to marry a farmer)! The new born piggies were a huge hit.

We have just had a fantastic week at Grobdale. Beautiful luxurious cottage with everything that you would ever need. Stunning views from every aspect and amazing walks from the cottage.
Sarah and Andy are superb hosts we even got a tour of the farm and met all of the animals including some very cute piglets.
If you’re looking for a place to chill, relax and recharge your batteries Grobdale is the perfect place.

This was our first time visiting Grobdale and our first Christmas away from home. I'm not sure what else to say but stunning, we have two border collies who absolutely loved the Byre and the surrounding area. My daughter was in awe of the farm and spent lots of time out helping with the horses and pigs.

A beautiful hamper waited for us when we arrived after our long journey which is just what we needed. Sarah and family were so welcoming and for me made us feel a home. We will definitely be coming back to the Byre and maybe bringing some family members too
