We're a charity. Our mission is Better Lives for Older People and our vision is creating sustainable communities that provide: Homes older people want; Lifestyles they can enjoy; and Care if it’s needed. To deliver our vision and mission we essentially do three things: we develop new villages, we operate villages and schemes, and we support our villages, schemes and our ‘extra-care’ model through fundraising, advocacy and research.

Making the decision to move into Shenley Wood when I was recently widowed was hard, but, one year on, I am convinced it was the right thing to do. My apartment is comfortable and safe and I have been able to join in the life of the village and make friends. Extra Care support is always there when needed and I believe this is the ideal environment for later life – certainly not thinking about moving again!

Olivia, their Sales Consultant has the patience of a saint, as I asked many questions before committing to moving into Stoke Gifford RV. The paperwork process was straightforward. I have been living here for 2 years and have no regrets. This is now my forever home, which gives me peace of mind that whatever the future holds, I feel safe and secure and at peace that I have made the next steps easier for me and my family. The location is great, as there are so many local amenities and good transport links. The village is clean, staff and residents are welcoming and friendly. Always lots of activities going on, if you want to join in. Also really helpful to have a shop, cafe, hairdresser, gym and library on site. The gardens are beautiful too.

Moving into Stoke Gifford is probably the best decision we have ever made. Downsizing from a four bedroomed house into a two bedroomed apartment took a lot of de-cluttering which was quite a task but very rewarding. From the moment we moved in it felt like home - everyone is so friendly & the range of activities has kept us occupied & very fit! All the on site staff have been very helpful & we really enjoy the bar and Bistro. So nice to be able to eat & drink then just stroll back to the apartment with no driving involved! We love it here!

Over more than a year we had to defer our 'downsizing' move to Longbridge Village, due to funding factors beyond our control. Management was understanding, allowing us to view alternative apartments until such time as the purchase was completed.
In the ensuing nine months of residence we've rejoiced in the decision, quickly feeling 'at home'.
The social facilities exceed our needs but there is no sense of pressure to participate. Warmth, security, diminished maintenance concerns, friendly welcomes, proximity to shops, ease of parking, walk-in shower and a bistro are just some of our positives.

The Trust were fantastic to us
We had trouble with our buyer and they extended the deadline so that we could keep the bungalow we had chosen.
On the moving day, both solicitors gave the go ahead tor the removal firm to proceed but on arrival we could not move in because the buyer was tardy in sending in his final paperwork for completion.
The trust put us up in the Guest suite and stored our furniture in a recreation room until the next day when they arranged for another removal company to move us in.

Living in Sunley Court is a great decision me and my family made. Always feel safe, warm and cared about. Tonight we had an unexpected ‘Hot Dog Meeting’ my daughter had rolls left from her birthday and we had hot tinned dogs in our cupboards, so much laughing and a little wine. Never lonely, if you want company there is always something going on if not you can relax in your flats. I am so glad I decided to live here, thanks xxx

Our Mum is capable and independent-minded. But when, at the age of 85, it was time to stop driving, it was no longer practical to continue in the old family home a small village with very limited services or transport.
Thankfully we'd looked at The Village a year earlier. She liked it, but wanted to keep on her independence as long as possible. So when the time came, it was an easy decision.
I have many times praised the sales team and all the staff who made the move smooth, easy and frankly fun. They really helped me navigate the journey, and I cannot thank them enough.
Mum had admitted to feeling lonely after Dad died, especially over the winters. Now, I have to book in to see her because she goes to so many clubs and activities in the Village. She now introduces me to her new friends.
Me and my brothers love it that she's in a vibrant community, but with lots of safe-guards that give her and us added peace of mind.
I should probably get Extracare to pay me for this, because I keep singing their praises.

My mother and partner have recently moved in. The facilities and the service received are both excellent - nothing too much trouble. All of the other residents are clearly very happy to be there, and there is a really great, very friendly atmosphere.
There is a real "buzz" about the place, and there are lots of activities throughout every day that residents can join in on.

I have lived in Earlsdon Park Village for 8 years. We have an excellent activity co-ordinator, Elaine, who makes sure we have a good selection of great acts to entertain us. We have a very good volunteer co-ordinator, Abtar, who does his best to look after and recruit volunteers for our village. We have a good community spirit with lots of activities run by residents.

I Joined Earlsdon Village 2 years ago and find the facilities excellent. The use of the gym, bistro bar and games room a great benefit plus a host of other activities. The best experiences are in the village hall, the entertainment put on by Elaine is of a high standard at a reasonable price also a singer in the Bistro most Tuesdays evenings also through Elaine at the heart of our activities

I joined the local gym at Earlsdon park village, partly because it was local, but more importantly,it was smaller than the larger gyms and felt more friendly and less intimidating. Liz the instructor was really helpful and very supportive and made me feel very welcome.Earlsdon park village also has a bistro where you can get a coffee and food in a very relaxed and friendly environment.Im really pleased I discovered this gym as it really works with me

My uncle and auntie moved To Stoke Gifford before Xmas and the support they have received since has been nothing short of amazing. THEY ARE THRIVING. The lady who dealt with them during there move was brilliant and couldn't of been more helpful. I am very happy to see them both so content.

It's now six months since my wife's parents moved into Solihull Village, so enough time has passed to allow us to form meaningful opinions about their experiences and also ours.
Dad is 96 and Mum is 91, so the task of moving in itself was daunting for everyone.
Thankfully, Extracare handled the apartment purchase really well from first viewing to completion.
Mum and Dad were made welcome in every respect from day one and that's been consistent from everyone who supports them in the Village.
Staff are extremely friendly, caring, interested in them and genuinely focused on making life easier for them, and us.
The facilities in the Village are exactly as first described to us. The Bistro has been a Godsend and it's been easy for them to settle in.
Along the way, there's been a few medical problems for both of them and the on site support team have helped quickly and professionally.
It was a massive move for an elderly couple in not great health, but the Extracare team along with the residents generally made such a positive difference, we can't thank them enough.
If you or someone you know is considering buying an apartment in the Village, as a family, we certainly recommend visiting it for a look around. We're delighted we took the first step last year.

It really is delightful living here amongst friendly like minded folk
You get a feeling of security and SAFTY
And we feel very lucky to be spending our retirement here
Our beautiful luxurious Apartment is so well designed and so much thoughtful has been taken with every aspect of the needs of the elderly taken into consideration
We have a full programme of events and a huge magnificent roof garden with conservatory
With us both nearing our 90’s we know we have ‘in house’ care services ready - as and when needed
I just wish this model could be more widely used so more people wouldn’t fear the thought of ending up in a ‘home’
It’s worry Free living
