Rip off to change vehicle
I insured my bike for 12 months at a cost of £52.64. Just 2 months into my cover I changed my bike. A similar bike and similar age. I went online to change the details, and they wanted £131.86! That was just to change the remaining 10 months. I thought it must be a mistake and phoned them. No it was correct. I had no choice but to cancel my cover, and no surprise the refund matched the admin fee, so just 2 months into my cover I received nothing. I went onto a comparison site to insure my "new to me" bike, and what came up in the quotes, Express Bike Insurance £80. No chance! Insured with another company for £68.

Good prices and cover
No real issues encountered, just some confusion on policy wording which was clarified over the phone, which incidentally didn't involve hours on hold waiting for a human!

Cancelled my policy
Cancelled my policy, then charged a fee bigger than the premium
I took out bike insurance with carol Nash through express.
They're now charging me far more in cancellation fees than I paid for the cover. I'm being billed more for them ending the policy than for the insurance itself.
I've asked them to explain the fee and they've refused. I've now raised a formal complaint and will take it to the Financial Ombudsman if needed.
Read the cancellation terms very carefully before buying from them, and think twice about using them at all.

We can see that a formal complaint has now been raised and is currently being reviewed. We will aim to resolve your complaint as soon as possible, normally within 5 business days, at which point we will send you confirmation in writing that your complaint has been resolved. On occasions, we may require a little longer to complete our investigation and, in this case, we will send you an acknowledgement letter advising when we hope to reach a decision. We will then continue to keep you updated on our progress.
