like most of these "platforms" it works…

like most of these "platforms" it works very poorly, customer service is a joke, and whatever problem pops up is never solved. Now they're still trying to collect some 5£ from me because some stupid "person" got mad at me 4 years ago, claiming that one part I was selling arrived too late, which of course was not the case. Later on, I was unable to complete an offer last week due to "internal errors", I tried to raise a complain but I was not able to make it. And on and on...

Won't be using Ebay again

Won't be using Ebay again, the last 2 items I have ordered just haven't turned up, and it's then on me to mess about opening cases for everything. The item before that came after about 2 weeks and was different to the description. Seller could have cared less. It's no wonder everyone shops on Amazon.

I TRUST EBAY THAN ANY OTHER MARKETPLACE

I have been a member of Ebay since 2008. I encountered some issues but Ebay ALWAYS provided their full support. Especially if you use simple delivery, Ebay will never give you any bother. If parcel goes missing, they will communicate with you to inform you about a lost parcel. They will tell you that you don't need to do anything. And it's true, they handled the situation themselves. They refunded the buyer and it did not have a negative impact on my account. I still recommend Ebay to buyers and sellers as they are looking after their members. More professional than Vinted. They use human support, not robot. They don't just simply leave you with nothing like what Vinted is doing to their members.

Another potential sale lost

Highqualitylaszlo wrote "Hi thank you for your offer. Would like to ask is it possible to make a combinat delivery cost. I like ur listed items."

Well yes, but I couldn't give an exact answer because only eBay's 'delivery by simpletons' knows, and potential customers don't like that 😭

I've sold a hard drive worth 300£…

I've sold a hard drive worth 300£ within the UK to a buyer, obviously I packed professionally and tested even had a screenshot of the health of the drive. Buyer received and a bit more than a week later complained it is not working and he will send it back and want a full refund. Weeks go by and the drive arrives from Bulgaria to my address. I've explained the whole story to eBay how I can be responsible for someone shipping the item after purchase to another country and send it back to me, but that ignorance and zero help from their side was shocking. I had to refund the 300£ and keep the drive which worth zero now. I'm out of 600£. Am I dreaming or it is a legal rip off?

Use vinted instead

Use vinted instead. As a Seller starting up 2 weeks ago, they've already lost my Xbox via they're Packlink generated label which isn't recognised on any of their systems, customer service is ignoring me, I had tracking details yet despite them the customer gets a refund and I'm down an xbox, and the case gets closed? Like I'm sorry but this case is not done with. Then on top of that, sold a card for a Tenner, customer said it hadn't arrived yet despite tracking saying it had, they got a refund and a free card and I got nothing. In the same amount of time on Vinted I've had over 30 sales and 5 star reviews without a single issue. Ignore ebay like the plague, quicker gamestop buy them the better

Zero feedback and I am warning others⚠️…

Zero feedback and I am warning others⚠️ not to sell or buy anything on Ebay platforms. They advertise free selling for other goods other than vehicles but put on hidden processing charges when you sell something. They are misleading and croocked all the way.Not so long ago,I returned a phone to a seller because of misleading information and poor performance. Ebay got the refund and pocketed it and when I started putting pressure for my refund. Ebay closed my account for that and I called their customer service who were as much useless in rectifying my payment of my refund. My Ebay account email was in my name. It's nearly six months and I haven't seen my refund and Ebay has my bank details. SHAME ON EBAY FOR DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.SELL YOUR GOODS FOR FREE ON GUMTREE AND VINTED.I AM DEMANDING MY MONEY YOU TOOK FOR PROCESSING THE SALE AND THE REFUND FROM THE PHONE THAT I SENT BACK TO CHINA.😫😫😓Ebay have done it again, sold a car exhaust silencer recently and the buyer collected it using a code given by Ebay. Ebay closed my account and I didn't get the payment. I am now taking these issues of fraud to the police. I need my refund for the phone and the payment for the exhaust and mental and financial suffering caused by Ebay for withholding my money.

EBay’s Simpleton Delivery is a Nightmare!

Look I use EBay all the time, I generally find it very good, but…
Some idiot decided to copy Vinted and offer “Simple Delivery”.
This system is very frustrating and even when you have obviously listed something which is larger than the postage options on offer it’s still doesn’t give you an option to ship by other methods.
How can a 29” wheel (740mm) be smaller than 610mm x 460mm x 460mm?
Some much for AI ☹️
Please, please, please either get rid of this system or significantly improve its functionality.

Sold a vintage gold ring on 6 May 2026

Sold a vintage gold ring on 6 May 2026. Dispatched 7 May using eBay's Simple Delivery QR label, paying £9.99 for Royal Mail Tracked, Signed For and Insured. Item delivered 8 May with signature and two courier photographs (Royal Mail tracking AS434995863GB).
eBay's system has captured the wrong barcode from its own QR label (an internal reference, not the tracking number), so it shows "in transit" while Royal Mail confirms delivery. Per eBay's published Simple Delivery policy, funds release two calendar days after delivery or eight days from order date, whichever is sooner. That is today (10 May) or 14 May at latest. eBay says 21 May, which is the untracked default. Wrong.
Spent over an hour today in chat. Three agents, repeating myself at every transfer. The third, Hardik, told me funds would release "21 June," then "corrected" to 21 May, told me I "did not follow policy" when I used eBay's own label, refused to explain the formal complaints process despite five separate requests, and refused to escalate to a supervisor.
A formal complaint is being posted by Royal Mail Signed For to eBay Commerce UK Ltd today. 18 years on the platform. Disgraceful.

Getting worse and worse

Getting worse and worse.
Used to sell on eBay but due to recent issues I stopped. Now as a buyer I wanted to buy a garden pole saw. It needed verification by credit card that I am over 18 years. I don’t have a credit card so rang customer services. The advisor thanked me for being an eBay user for over 20 years but then told me the only way to prove that I am over 18 was by credit card!!! What a joke! The advisor also said there was no way to work around this. So now eBay has lost my custom as a buyer too. I just ordered from elsewhere and payed via PayPal with no nonsense and no issues. Good bye eBay and good luck….you will need it.

How this company still exists ill never know. Sellers seem to just consist of scammers now being protected by ebay. No item dispactched even shows as such on ebay. Contact cs turns into a repeated conversation with 3 of theie advisors one of which i didnt require.
Onus seems to be on the buyer to prove what ebays own system is already saying... Couldnt make it up. So yeah dont use as a buyer, you'll get scammed and have no help. Thank god for my banks anti fraud team.

Ebay Lovablestyles seller

For everyone who believes Ebay sellers who have 100% rating are automatically decent people, here's a warning!

I ordered a rebounder from ebay seller Lovablestyles, a seller with, at the time, a 100% rating and claiming to be from UK, operating since September 2025.

My order was placed at 8.15pm on 7th May 2026 on the strength of them offering a discount voucher. When the order was finalised, the voucher hadn't been added so I immediately contacted the seller with the code and asked for it to be added. The seller ignored my messages so I cancelled the order at approx 8.40pm on the same evening, some 30 minutes later.

Ebay messaged me today, 8th May 2026, to inform me that the seller couldn't cancel the order because they'd posted it on 8th May 2026.

The seller totally disregarded my messages and the item was sent anyway the next day. If and when the item arrives. I'll be placing a report to Ebay on this seller's behaviour and will update this review as things progress. Needless to say, I would recommend people not deal with this seller.

Given the situation with Ebay and its sellers in the last few years and the bad reviews it's getting, I think it's had its day and time to sack it off. Better to pay a little extra from the manufacturers or proper businesses than suffer the agro with a shambles that's not fit for purpose. Ebay used to be a decent platform. It's now a den of shysters and profiteering scumbags who buy cheap and nasty Chinese garbage and mark it up, passing it off as quality.

Update: 8th May 2026. Their tracking of this item is showing as coming from MH Star UK via Amazon UK.
Violation of eBay's policies, as sellers should not list items on eBay and then purchase them from another retailer like Amazon to ship directly to customers. Others are doing this and Ebay are doing sod all about it.

Update: 9th May 2026.
Item was delivered today. After the event, the seller hit me with a host of excuses, saying they couldn't cancel because it was in the hands of Amazon and requested I deal with Amazon directly. I told them where to get off. Sale of goods act states contract of sale is between seller and buyer.

This has destroyed Ebay for me as I've contacted them over violation of their rules for sellers and they've ignored me. This seller is going to get a monster of a bad review.
Ebay help and report is worse than useless so Goodbye Ebay. You’ve cooked your goose with another customer.

Update: 16th May 26.
This seller has made a half-arsed attempt to save their own skins by making a discount that they should've made as per their voucher offer and dressed it up as a refund. No doubt, they've realised they're in the wrong, but Ebay have done nothing to address a seller that has blatantly breached their rules of no reselling directly from another platform and also failed to give discount at the point of sale.

Update: 19th May 26.
Ebay have removed my negative review of this seller without contacting me. How did that happen? I can no longer leave feedback and tell the truth about this seller. Totally wrong.

I have regularly used eBay for 19 years…

I have regularly used eBay for 19 years and more recently so, as I’m disabled. Over the past few months I have purchased more and more faulty items from their online site requiring refund after refund. However the most recent being an iPhone 16 Pro Max for £650 as a birthday present. The item did not arrive! After calling Yodel, they advised the seller had sent to wrong address even though it shows correct address on package(when they take a picture to show could not deliver). I called Yodel who were very unhelpful too, said contact seller would not respond. Yodel then showed parcel as delivered and eBay said I also had to contact seller. Over 24hrs with no response from seller an eBay can’t help even though they have live messages from Yodel, screenshots and picture proof on no delivery. Then, after I log a “did not receive item” to seller, eBay advised they can’t step in for SIX DAYS. I logged the “did not receive item” 1am Friday. They say can’t do anything for 3 business days which does not include today(Friday), Saturday or Sunday??? eBay is an online platform which allows businesses to sell on a weekend but, does not them consider them business dates for complaints or refunds. The French eBay team were extremely unhelpful, sarcastic and unable to offer any resolution. When I asked to log a complaint, they said they would pass the details on, it would be reviewed but I would not be responded to 🤷🏻 I was informed eBay were a Billion dollar company and didn’t have the time to deal with individual issues or complaints!! Wow! I asked for a call on Wednesday next week and was told that, if they were in, they would but as not it would be Thursday. I asked if they could get a Wednesday manager to call me instead to which I was told “No”. After 19 years, I will never use eBay again even though I have relied more on them recently as I’m disabled. They are not working in the 22st Century in regards to technology, vetting sellers, customer service and most definitely not complaints, wrongly closed deliveries and I will be using more forward thinking companies such as Amazon, Temu, Alibaba etc as I know they work with 21st Century systems that deal with real world, up to date complexity which eBay, unfortunately have not and are now out of touch. This has left me £660 in the red and no reassurance that they or the dodgy seller (who I checked out and found owed lots of money to people) will give me my money back leaving someone without their birthday present and me with no way to get them something else. Please don’t use eBay for anything important or expensive. It’s not worth the risk, sellers are not vetted and eBay from my experience don’t give a monkeys as they still get their slice of the pit. After all, it was shoved down my throat that they were a Billion dollar company and didn’t have the time to deal with legitimate, purchasing issues as they were too busy making money from non vetted seller sales commission. 🙇🏻‍♂️🤷🏻🤬🤯

DO NOT SELL ANYTHING VIA EBAY

DO NOT SELL ANYTHING VIA EBAY! I sold an Oni Denim jacket for 95 pounds, the scammer tried saying it's not authentic, asking for a certificate of authenticity after he recieved the item, that does not exist!!! It's not a rolex watch! Ebay refunded him straight away and have been harassing me to pay them without returning my item, the seller deliberately sent the item to the wrong adress and it is now in Bulgaria! Ebay refunded them without me recieving the jacket which violates their own policy! Every customer service agent I have spoken to from Ebay has looked through this thouroughly and has agreed with me, even fighting my case, yet Ebay has rejected their own staff multiple times and has now passed it on to Moorcroft, and to make things worse, Ebay stole 14 pounds from me!!! An item I sold, they said they are using it to recover funds, yet the debt they passed on doesn't have the deducted 14 pound either! So I have been scammed twice!!! Even Moorcroft can see that I am in the right. Horrid company! I have been a loyal customer for years, not anymore! Something similar happened previously when I purchased a laptop and it was broken, Ebay did absolutely nothing and I had to get Revolut to step in which recovered the funds for me from Ebay. AVOID!
