Large coverage of parkings and easy to…

Large coverage of parkings and easy to park via the phone. Like the extend-function and that I can use the same app in Sweden too when I travel for work.

Easy park

Easy park tried to bill me phantom bill. Q park that owns the parking lot says that Easy park tried to charge me too much but Easy park says it is the Q park that screwed it up. But Easy park expects me to pay a bill that is not correct. Calling Easy park customer center, they are completely useless. Sending a mail to Easy park they are even more useless as they need 7 days to answer. After I sort this out, deleting the app and never using them. Scammers, avoid them at any cost.
Update 28.11.: Customer service really helped and Simon from there went above and beyond. Raising to 3 stars as the initial experience was really bad but Easy park customer service deserves 5 stars.

Do not use this service.

Do not use this service.. i was in iceland a year ago and there STILL taking money from my account every month... bank has tried to block it but keeps coming back.. im not calling denmark n being charged for the call as advised.. im in scotland there must be another way ..

I asked them a week ago to delete all my data and provide a confirmation according to GDPR.

They yet haven’t done so. I’m going to report them if they don’t follow up soon.

Warning: Steps to follow to avoid parking fines.

Warning:

Although this app can pay your parking fees, it can also have technical bugs which can result in fines.

In Denmark the fines can be 650 or 750DKK.

To avoid fines, ensure the following steps before trusting the easypark app.

1. Never use the map location selection.
reason: It can tell you your location, but behind the 'scenes' can register a completely different location i.e. if you had previously used the app in the same day.

2. Find the car park unique ID on the physical signs at the car park. Enter the number into the app, and double check it registers the location. Take a screen grab of the correct location.

Happy parking and don't forget to be safe out there. Apps can have bugs and easypark do not refund parking fines, they would rather go to the high court.

[In reply to the easypark reply]: Easypark are not sorry to hear of this... face it, you can't say sorry to everyone on trust pilot and keep a straight face when nothing is being done to help prevent parking fines...

To users of this app, as you can see in the easypark reply, Easypark themselves do not advise to use this location feature. My opinion is that it is a consumer failure for them to keep offering a faulty/buggy feature, where there is no 'is your carpark number x, does it match the sign' confirmation in the app. The high court in denmark found against easypark last year, but I see no feature promised by them in the app today. And in my case, I tapped on the *only* carpark available in the area, and the app unbeknown to me registered internally another car park, located in a different city, which should not even be possible. The app is therefore buggy, it apparently can cache old data and use that instead of a users *new location input*.

If they had implemented a 'are you sure car park is number x, please confirm', there might be *a lot* more happy customers. Unfortunately the Danish legal system or consumer protection authority may have to step in again. Always use the carpark ID and double check - if you are unsure, screen grab the result of the location to bring evidence to your complaint which will cost 100DKK at the Danish consumer complaints mediation process, where I imagine easypark would choose to pay a parking fine. All complaints will unfortunately require evidence, and if easypark app has a bug they can hide from us, I can't see how a consumer can win without at least a screen grab - the more I write the more I suspect convenient collusion with europark fines in a 'consumer shakedown'.

[Update]
After explanation to the company, they actually admitted to a technical fail, and refunded my parking fine. So, +2 stars! Thanks for your honesty Easy Park.

The EasyPark App, is indeed a payment method for your parkering and you should always double check your location which we also do inform you in the application.

The app uses your GPS on the phone and that can sometimes not be precise.

So the best way to use the app is to check your location using our area code located on the signs . We have that to make it easier for users to choose the correct area code so you do not end up with a parking fine.

No receipt for single parking

You will not get receipt copy of any individual parking. You can only download the receipts for a list of parking's you made. And nobody respond your call if you call their customer service.

In your app, under history you can ask for a receipt for the specific day, however if you have multiple parkerings on the same day you will receive them all.

I paid Cash on Fields Machine

I paid Cash on Fields Machine , and instead of Paying 10DKK , i paid 50DKK .
I tried to call the number several times, but nobody picked up . And when you choose English Language, it still Danish .
Bad service, bad experience.

Unpleasant EasyPark experience

Had an unpleasant experience with EasyPark

My parents had driven to visit me in Aarhus, we put the number plate in the app – there were no guides about foreign number plates.

The parking spot owners didn’t understand the number plate, so they fined us and told us to take it with EasyPark. When we called EasyPark to clarify, we were not impressed by the service. After not recognizing their part, they finally offered to refund the ticket we had bought to avoid a fine. Or as my mother put it: “It’s like stealing your money and then spitting you in the face”

It's very important that you make sure that the information on the parking ticket in the app is correct. If the information on the parking ticket in the app isn't correct the p-guard wont be able to verify your parking and then you'll be fined.

It's of course a very sad situation - when all you have done is to try and pay for parking and doing it correctly. I'm very sorry that we can't be more helpful than refunding the parking ticket through the app.

NEVER rely on this applications map

I parked my car inside a parking garage and noticed a sign telling me to use "EasyPark" to register parking. I opened up the app and waited for the GPS to locate me. Then I picked the P-icon located in the area that looked geographically similar to my current position. Without any warnings I spun the timer and parked for a couple of hours. When I came back I had received a ticket for not having registered my car in the correct zone.

I've complained about this incident, but they insist that it's my fault for not reading the signs and comparing the area code. No doubt it's a valid argument from their side, but then what's the point with the EasyPark app? It'd much less of a hassle using a proprietary system to register my license plate instead of putting all of your faith into an app. If companies won't risk people registering an incorrect zone with the EasyPark app, then they shouldn't advertise "EASY PARK" with huge letters. Now I've paid 90 DKK for parking and I'll probably have to pay 650 DKK as well unless I follow through to surpreme court and win like some other publiziced cases.

The EasyPark app is a form of payment method for parking. It's the users responsibility to make sure that the parking that is started via the app is correct. You are the only one in that time where you need to park that are able to match signage with the app and make sure your parking is correct.

I'm sad to hear that you had this experience. It's never funny to get back to you car and see a fine when you think you had done everything correctly in the app and paid for parking.

Parking can be activated when shouldn't be

It does work, but you have to know local laws and what you are doing very well.

For me, it allowed to pay for parking that was illegal. I succesfully paid 15 euros for parking on the street where I couldn't park, as municipality explained to me later. When there is 1 timer or similar sign, you can't pay for the parking to prolong that, I didn't know.

So I paid the parking fine, all thanks to EasyPark.

EasyPark is a form for payment for parking. The rules for parking has to be read by yourself on signage. The reason for this is that EasyPark doesn't own parking spots so we do not have the rules for parking in our app.

It's possible to use the app on municipality parking spots. But there can be some restrictions that you have to be aware of and comply to for your parking to be legal.

Therefor its very important that you read the signage before you start your parking - so that you make sure that your parking is made within the rules for parking at that particular spot you are parked on.

Do not use parking app to avoid paying parking fine.

I would recommend not to use easypark and any other parking app to avoid getting parking fine. I know that this parking apps should make our lives easier but theres still a lot of bugs within the Danish parking system rules that needed to be fixed for this to be a permanent solution to our parking payment service. I got a ticket bacause of my own mistake, i did not double check that the car im driving that day was my wifes car and its plate number was not added to this app, so I added the plate number and payed the fee for 2 hours, when i came back, i saw that i got a ticket for 830kr. I checked the app and saw that my wifes cars plate number was not added and i paid using my own cars plate number. I know it was my own mistake for not double checking before i left the car, but that should not been the case if i use 30 sec more to walk to the machine and paid the old fashion way. I called both easy park and the parking operator to have it fixed since I paid the hours I’m parked on that parking space but, not easypark nor the parking operator are willing to correct the issue. Easypark offered to pay back the money I paid for the parking hour but I still need to pay the 830 fine. So yeah, this app is smart and it saves us few second of our lives, but i don’t think its worth the risk of paying fine when you make a slightest mistake. Use the machine, at least you have the paperwork to back your claim if ever something like this happen.
