pre-booking not a good idea
pre-booked space while attending an appointment for the Royal Liverpool hospital 9:30-1:30 (4 hours)
arrived 9am and left 11am two hours parking
I accept I was half an hour early and was charged an extra hour! but left two and half hours early. Not happy with the extra charge!
Still car parks do not read private…
Still car parks do not read private registrations ( arnway q park London Victoria ), came across awkward ( shouldn’t be in customer services lady this morning ) , who offered the worst approach to customer service I have ever come across, make it awkward for me to leave a car park that I pre-paid for, many times I have just given my registration but with thus awkward person I had to tell why I paid , where I paid , time of entry, ref number and so on, previous staff ( nice staff) the ref number or registration was good enough, they need to spend money and update there systems so car parks can read private registrations just like airport car parks !!

Charged an additional £3 for arriving 18 minutes early despite leaving 1 hour 20 minutes before paid booking ended.
Q Park have confirmed their system does not take into account actual usage, only rigid time slots, and refused any goodwill refund.
This is purely automated and a very inflexible approach with no common sense or customer consideration.
Very disappointed in their service and not a company I want to have an account set up with to pay for my regular parking in Glasgow anymore.
Don't go expecting to charge your EV…
Don't go expecting to charge your EV (Leeds, Sovereign Square). We all know that Q-Park is expensive, but I accept this and agree to pay what they charge. I have a relatively new EV and this was the first time I needed to charge it away from home. I arrived at the carpark at 9.30am, plugged my car in to one of the Blink charges, and left to go about my business. (I was staying overnight at a local hotel). At one point during the day I checked the Blink App and noticed the kWh was low (1.4kWh) but couldn't get back to the carpark due to commitments. When arriving back at the car park at around 5.30pm, 12.03kWh had been delivered, increasing my battery from 22% to 40%. Not enough for my needs. I unplugged and plugged into a different charger, which also showed about 1.5kWh. I then phoned Blink who said that although they supply the chargers, Q-Park manage them and set the (expensive) rate. I was told that many of the chargers in that Q-Park carpark weren't working and was advised to find a charger in a different location. I tried this but the chargers I found were in carparks owned by hotels that one couldn't access, were busy, or weren't working. Or in other Q-Park carparks - which I wasn't going to try. I eventually went back, thought I'd try again and plugged in to a third charger. Luckily, this one worked - it charged at around 7kWh. I was advised that Q-Park would charge even once the charging was complete, if the car remained plugged in. So, at around midnight, when the charge was complete, I went and unplugged the car. The whole event was fairly stressful. Do better, Q-Park.
DO USE BARCELONA!
To say I am devastated is an understatement. I collected a brand new vehicle from Land Rover in Manchester, UK on Monday and drove overnight to our Spanish residence, arriving in Barcelona on Tuesday at approximately 3pm. I am familiar with the city and aware that certain areas can be targeted for theft, however I never expected what happened next.
After a long drive, we went directly to CBNA gym to quickly work out. Regrettably, we made the decision to leave our luggage from the journey in the car. We were away from the vehicle for approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Upon returning, the vehicle had been broken into and completely cleared out. All four suitcases, all electronics, and every personal item had been taken. It was a professional and calculated theft whoever carried this out clearly knew exactly what they were doing.
What is particularly concerning is the lack of meaningful response from the parking attendant on duty. He stated that he heard the car alarm sounding and went over but “didn’t see anything”, which I find extremely difficult to believe given the volume and duration of a vehicle alarm in an enclosed parking structure. He called the police and handed me an email contact card, but beyond that showed very little interest or willingness to assist. After the police report was completed, he barely allowed me time within the car park and seemed largely disengaged from the seriousness of the situation affecting one of his paying customers.
I appreciate the need to remain factual, however the overall lack of concern and assistance raises serious questions about the level of security and accountability within this facility. As a customer using what is marketed as a secure car park, I would have expected a far more proactive response and support in a situation of this nature.
This email is not only to formally report the incident, but also to make it very clear:
Do not assume this is a secure place to park.
Whether you are a resident or visiting from overseas, vehicles left here particularly with luggage — are clearly vulnerable. From speaking locally and observing feedback, incidents such as this appear to occur far more frequently than one would expect in a supposedly monitored car park.
I fully accept that, ultimately, we made the decision to leave our belongings in the vehicle and that lesson has now been learned the hard way. Everything taken was material and can be replaced. However, the experience itself is not something I would wish on anyone.
If this message helps even one person avoid that same feeling and loss, then it serves its purpose.
Robbers
The app doesn’t work-404-error. Basics.
I got there a few minutes early and was auto charged £11. Looking ahead a week and booking the same amount of extra time would have cost around £7. So I was robbed because they have my credit card data.
A wholly unneccessrily painful way of treating customers.
Overcharging you - super rude support!
Pre-booked Oxford Street 08:00–14:00. I entered at 07:44 (16 minutes early) and exited at 10:20 (3+ hours before the end of my booking).
Despite leaving early, I was charged an additional £11 because I entered slightly before the booked start time.
What makes it worse: the email wording suggested I “stayed longer”, which is simply untrue — I arrived earlier.
When I contacted support, Jamie replied in a rude, dismissive way (“charge is correct, no refund”) and didn’t provide a proper tariff breakdown or calculation. It honestly feels like they don’t value repeat customers.
If you use Q-Park, be extremely careful: entering a few minutes early can cost you a lot, and support won’t help.

Misleading App Experience and Promotional Rate Not Applied
I parked at Q-Park St Stephen’s Green (26/12/2025, 17:04–21:20) and expected the after-5 PM evening rate advertised for this location. I entered after the qualifying time and used the Q-Park Go app with automatic payment enabled, following everything the system offered.
However:
The app never showed any tariff options or the evening rate.
There was no way for me to select or confirm the promotional rate.
Despite entering after the qualifying time, I was charged the standard hourly rate.
Customer service confirmed the evening rate cannot be applied through the app, but this was not communicated in-app at any time.
This is extremely disappointing — users expect the app to improve the experience, but instead it removes transparency and choice, resulting in higher charges with no warning. Q-Park should clearly disclose promotional restrictions in the app and allow transparent tariff selection.
Misleading Service
I pre booked for the cark park in Chinatown. The website tells you spaces are running out and to book promptly. This suggests your booking a space. When we arrived NO spaces at all. NONE. When I complained was just told I only was paying for a smoother entry. In Fact everyone who entered the car Park entered in exactly the same and when I asked them they had not paid in advance, so that was a lie. I paid for a space I didn't get when I could have Just turned up and not got a space and not Paid. AVOID this company, they do not care.
Q Park are scammers
I went to pay the 1hour ticket and €3.20 came up as due. When I went to insert my credit card, the “ticket blocked” message came up. The machine stalled and then a charge of €6.40 came up. I spoke to 6 of the staff and no one could sort it out. In total frustration on another machine I paid the €6.40. I then went into a meeting to hear that 2 other people had the exact same experience. This is a very sharp practice. I certainly will not use QParks again. Avoid them.
We arrived at Durham Road Sheffield
We arrived at Durham Road Sheffield, wasn’t able to book in advance , so arrived the gate didn’t read our registration, so had to take a ticket so what’s the point of downloading the app
Beware prebooking - it will cost you!!
Manchester Deansgate
Whilst there is no doubt Q parks are clean and have good parking spaces I would never pre book again. Be warned if you arrive before your booked time or leave earlier than stated you will be charged a fee. Mine was £3.50 on top of the almost £35 I had already paid even though I actually used the space an hour less. It would have been cheaper to just turn up. I appealed and was told:
“ You booked a time specific booking and as you entered outside of the times you paid for the additional fee is automatically charged based on your entry and exit times. I’m afraid it does not take into account you departing earlier than you anticipated”I won’t be using pre-booking again. Who can arrive exactly as booked fgs 🙄🤦♀️
Do not use this car park
Pre booked 48 hour parking in Manchester costing nearly £80. Barrier was meant to recognise our reg plate and let us in but did not. Tried to buzz for help several times and no one answered and no member of staff anywhere to be seen. We ended up pressing for a ticket just so we could gain access to the car park. Tried to exit the car park today and yet again the barrier did not rise. Buzzed for help many times and nothing and no one on site. We have now paid the £56 (cheaper than online cost) again so have now paid twice!!!! Considering there are car parks in the area which we now know of who are only charging £6 per 24 hours Q Parks need to get both their act and their pricing in order. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
Great idea but……
Drove in, no ticket, no problem. Coming out the barrier didn’t lift and the QR code didn’t work. A few agitated driving behind me (embarrassing). Pressed the help button on the exit machine and read out the QR code ref to the attendant. Finally got out! Not sure if I’ll go through that again.
What a shambles !! So I pre booked parking for The Mailbox…
So I pre booked parking for The Mailbox in Birmingham as we were seeing a show we did arrive a little later than our entry time ( but who actually arrives on the dot !)
We arrived in plenty of time for our show or so we thought ! on arriving then discovered there were no spaces people queuing all around the car park
Surely PRE booking allocates you a space Yes ?
Actually NO I contacted customer services who said it doesn’t guarantee you a space ? WHAT ! I’ve paid over the odds to make sure we had parking !
We drive around for over half an hour eventually finding a spec bit making us late then for the start of our show !
Sort it out Q Park !
A company whose audacity is hard to surpass.
I booked a parking spot online for Nice. Upon arrival, neither the license plate scanner nor the QR code worked. I had to pull a ticket even though I had already paid. There was no one in the parking garage to resolve the issue, so the next day, I had to pay the ticket—40€ for one night. A gentleman suggested I request a refund since I could prove I had already paid. I’ve been trying to do that since September 19th, but there’s been no response to my emails or anything else.
QPark seems quite confident that no one will hire a lawyer over such small amounts. This is utterly unprofessional.
Failed in consumer duty - and robbed us!!
Failed in consumer duty by not informing us at booking stage that exiting car park will take 45mins+ due to their terrible design and unlawfully charging is extra. ** I recommend everyone this has happened to make a charge back with their card provider as well as complain to their council/owner of car park about them to take their contract off them ** vote with your feet!!!**
I was fined for arriving one minute too early!
I pre booked parking to arrive on Sunday 18:00 and leave at Monday 02:00.
I arrived at 17:54, one minute too early, missing the grace period and thus charged a fine.
It was a bit difficult to drive around as the road markings are in black, this makes them difficult to read. At least the place was well lit and clean.
I returned to collect my park much earlier than planned leaving at Sunday 22:55.
So I was charged for arriving one minute too early but not refunded for leaving hours earlier than planned.
Honestly other than a useful location to park, do not recommend.
Q Park confusion
So little information. Left the carport in a hurry as late for an appointment so didn't pay much attention to where I came out. Trying to find my way back in after my appointment was a nightmare. Staircase closed, lift not working and no clue as to where I could get back in. No visible signs anywhere. Walked around Cavendish Square for nearly an hour with a bad hip. Eventually found a staircase but it wasn't the right Q Park (hadn't realised there were two close together). Fortunately a helpful employee rang someone from the right carpark and took me to meet him. Finally reunited with my car but charged £11 as now overstayed the booking time. Much better information about pedestrian entry/exit needed, the lift needs to be repaired and better signs at street level. Won't be using again. The one star was for the helpful staff.
