Dan, bless him, had my original review removed, claiming it was defamatory. So, I checked out the legal definition of defamatory and what constitutes a defamatory comment.

The two key points are that a statement cannot be false and that it cannot cause harm. With that in mind, I've changed the wording and format to convey exactly the same point.

Truth 1: Dan Thomas & Co Estate Agents uses Loop Software Ltd (Company number 10622485) to run their business.

Truth 2: Loop is a cloud-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software product specifically for estate/letting agents.

Truth 3: For support reasons, Loop has access to ALL data added by Dan Thomas & Co. This will include names, home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses and property-related financial information for all their clients.

(So far so good. Nothing defamatory there!)

Truth 4: The owner and founder of Loop is being investigated (RC200903919624) for historic allegations of company fraud.

Truth 5: The owner and founder of Loop had a previous property software business (Jupix Ltd, Company number 06382929) where he allegedly used the data inputed by estate agents to target vulnerable clients, such as tenants in arrears and forced property sales.

(Slightly uncomfortable reading, but still not defamatory to Dan Thomas & Co.)

Truth 7: Loop Software posted 2 months ago on one of their social media platforms a quote from Dan Thomas & Co, which said, "We chose Loop because our previous CRM was slow and expensive..."

Truth 8: In reading and having my previous review deleted, Dan Thomas & Co have had previous knowledge of my concerns.

(Nope. Nothing defamatory there either!)

So, looking at these 8 truths, there are a couple of conclusions that can be made, none of which will meet the threshold for deformation:

1. Dan Thomas & Co., by default and maybe inadvertently, share all their client data with someone being investigated for alleged fraud.

2. Dan Thomas & Co have reduced their costs, which most client-centred businesses would pass on to their clients in the form of a reduction in the costs of their products or services.

Finally, and it's only my humble opinion, when dealing with Dan Thomas & Co, you should be able to get some flexibility on their fees, and when you've concluded your business, ask for your data to be removed from their CRM system.

There you go. I've potentially saved you some money and protected your personal information with a good, non-defamatory review!

I would highly recommend Dan Tomas &co Estate Agents. From the start they have been very professional, informative and friendly. My house had interest very quickly and I was kept fully informed at all stages.

We had such a great experience with this estate agent. The team were genuinely friendly, approachable, and always on hand to help, especially Marisa & Nick. One thing that really stood out was how they set up a WhatsApp group to keep us in the loop. We were always updated on viewings, who the potential buyers were, and what was happening next. It made the whole process feel really personal and stress-free. We felt well looked after from start to finish and would happily recommend them to anyone who is selling their property. Will be using them again in the future!

I had a really positive experience selling my property with Dan Thomas & Co. The property marketing strategy was well put together. The biggest compliment would be around the communication which was always very proactive from the whole team throughout the viewing and progression process. Using a group messaging function meant that I could easily ask questions and answer any questions from prospective buyers. I felt kept in the loop at all times. Absolutely fantastic service from Dan and all the team - house on the market, sold and completed in under 3 months which was incredible. Such an incredible experience selling our property with Dan Thomas & Co. We were very nervous as it was our first time selling so we were not confident on the process. The whole team were very helpful and explained everything throughly. Marisa agreed our sale and was very helpful when assisting us with offers and understanding the market. Dan Thomas & Co, have been fantastic! When we were looking around for estate agents we always check the reviews and saw that theirs were really good. We were not dissapointed! One thing that's important for me is communication and they kept us informed every step of the way and worked really hard liaising with everyone in the chain. We had a few hiccups along the way with the chain, but Lorraine & Sharon pulled out all of the stops to keep us informed with very good advice and knowledge as well. It doesn't usually feel like you get value for money when moving but with this move I actually feel that we've had really good value for our money!

I would recommend Dan Thomas to anybody with my eyes closed . Every person is extremely efficient, caring and nothing is too much for them . I have just boughten my property and Sharon, Marisa and Claire went an extra mile for me and they were for me at any time of the working hours . I am very grateful to these ladies for making the whole experience much easier , so I did not have as much stress .

What can we say… 7 months in and we finally have our keys to our beautiful new home! We met the team when we found our new house a few doors down and had to move heaven and earth to sell our house in order for us to buy the one we wanted! For various reasons, unrelated to Dan Thomas and co, I have had great difficulty selling my house. I had used a number of estate agents without success. Eventually I thought I would try out a “young” agency and contacted Dan. Getting a sale over the line proved difficult on more than one occasion and friends had started to suggest going for yet another agent. My view was that DT & Co had been excellent in keeping in touch with me throughout difficult times: they had retained their initial enthusiasm even when I was thinking that a sale for any sensible price was impossible.
I have now exchanged and I’m glad I and they stuck together.
I will not pick out any specific staff members for comment because they were all helpful and sympathetic and all seemed to know what was going on re my sale - must have a good communication system!!
