Joining THE COUNSELLING directory has been one of the easiest sign ups. The team check in with you and even contact you when all checks have been done and they make your profile live. I have a friend who has been using them for a year now who recommended them to me.

I had hypnotherapy for years that…

I had hypnotherapy for years that worked like a magic wand. My hypnotherapist relocated abroad. She charged me half of these ppl and never made qualms if my visits were sometimes less frequent. She just got better and better as she went onto study Neuro-psychology. She had a DSM manual on her shelf and understood anxiety to intricate detail like a fine tuning fork. She did not claim to be more educated than she is at any time nor did she claim an ADHD specialist. But she was too good. I can go on about the benefits -but these people do not understand ADHD anxiety. I don't believe so, the same way I can memorise like a parrot the social and neurological trials of being a trans but never understand the alienation. Furthermore it would make more sense to hire ADHD sufferer therapists. But they never do or would not declare it because it is a mental disorder and most likely ADHD therapists are not considered intelligent enough. The want to know if there is something other than ADHD wrong with you. And they ask because almost all ADHD people have overlapping conditions - the reason for that is even the DSM manual does not know. If you do - then get ready. You have to accept being the problem not the treatment. Just have some upright, honest, awe-worthy ADHD therapists who have the condition themself and are experts at waning off or waning out anxiety. My last therapist did it and not even charge the hefty price tag. I can't say much. But I want to say - the bigger the title they have --- I had a Neuro-scientist telling me prior to this I need to change my life 360 degrees, make sure I am back on the something market, do vigorous cardio, manage all his recommendations while being a single mom with 1 home schooled child. Now here the mighty and glorious clinical psychologist the only thing clinical is the price tag and the cold clinical approach. Because you can't even ask them in what ways you might get better, they don't make any claims because the person I spoke to clearly does not understand it. The same way if I studied an orthodox religion would never understand what a day in their life is like. I can pretend I do and patronise them with my insights. But my last therapist had so much compassion she made everyone feel there is a chance to have a stake at the table, it might be a another kind of table for each, but we all deserve to expand our potential. Not here. Don't have the money at the intervals they ask for it and no guarantee of the anxiety subsiding not even 5%.

Found a therapist quickly and easily

Found a therapist quickly and easily, reached out to a few and received replies quickly. Great step towards finding the right therapist, and without this I would have had no idea where to look.

I recently joined Counselling…

I recently joined Counselling Directory, and my experience so far has been very positive. From the start, the enrolment process was smooth and efficient, with clear guidance every step of the way. The team (Hollie Caffrey) was incredibly responsive and helpful, promptly answering my emails and ensuring my profile was set up correctly.

I appreciate how well-structured and accessible the platform is for therapists and those seeking support. The ability to present my qualifications, approach, and availability clearly and professionally has been invaluable.

I also value Counselling Directory’s commitment to ethical standards and the resources it provides for therapists and individuals navigating their mental health journey. Overall, I’m very pleased with my experience so far and would highly recommend it to other professionals looking to establish a strong and credible online presence.

I have just joined the counselling directory as a therapist and so far my experience has been great. The process was really easy and best of all I loved that they actually checked that I was real person with a phone call as well as all of my credentials. Hopefully it will help show potential clients that we as therapists are properly checked and all above board and that they are getting the best.

Hi Li,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand that any price increase can be frustrating, so we’d like to provide some context around our recent adjustment.

Our pricing reflects the continued investment we’ve made in improving Counselling Directory since our last price update in 2017. Over this time, we’ve enhanced our platform, expanded our marketing efforts to increase visibility for our members, and developed new features - all while ensuring we keep the site running smoothly.

Like many businesses, we’ve also faced significant increases in operating costs across marketing, advertising, staffing, and platform development. However, we made the decision to freeze prices during the COVID-19 pandemic to support our members during a difficult time. This recent adjustment, therefore, represents a below-inflation increase over the past seven years.

We remain committed to delivering real value to our members by continuously reinvesting in site optimisation, advertising, and improvements that enhance both the member and visitor experience. We appreciate your feedback and, as always, welcome any suggestions on how we can continue to improve.

Best wishes,
Becky

I was told about counselling directory when a therapist i had through a charity was leaving, so she pointed me to this website. There is such a wide range of therapists on here and so much information you can see before you make the decision to contact them, and i love that you can filter prices and specialties

Hi HF,

Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I’m deeply sorry to hear about your experience. Reaching out for support takes immense courage, and I can only imagine how frustrating and disheartening it must have been not to receive the responses or assistance you were hoping for.

We understand that the holiday season can sometimes lead to delays or missed enquiries, and we sincerely apologise if this affected your experience. If you feel comfortable, we’d encourage you to try reaching out again to the therapist/s you contacted, as they may now be in a better position to respond.

If you’re open to it, we’d also like to help you find the support you’re seeking. You can reach our team directly at info@counselling-directory.org.uk or call us on 0333 325 2500, and we’ll do our best to assist you in connecting with a professional who meets your needs.

Once again, I’m truly sorry for the upset this has caused and thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Best wishes,
Becky

Hi Harriet,

Thank you for your feedback, and I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience using Counselling Directory. We know how important it is to find the right support when reaching out, and I'm sorry that your search wasn’t as seamless as it should have been.

I’d like to apologise for the frustration caused by contacting counsellors who were no longer practising. Keeping listings accurate and responding to all client enquiries (whether or not they are able to help) is something we encourage all our therapists to do.

If you’d like, our team would be happy to assist you personally in connecting with an available counsellor. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@counselling-directory.org.uk or 0333 325 2500, and we’ll do our best to help.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Take care,
