No empathy big corporate
I had a death in the family that I’ve been dealing with all year and ask for a short extension due to the circumstances. Nope no chance.

I've had my A+ and N+ for about ten years . I bought there renewal and finished it by 12 hours late of expiration. I was told to kick rocks by the company. called multiple different times. asked to speak with a manger they did not let me . They can stay expired I will just take my business else where. I have looked into other companys like microsoft and there more forgiving and understanding . The three year renewal how ever you look at it is a money grab. every one before 2013 doesnt have to deal with this.

It’s pretty bad when some of the questions on the exam are not counted toward your score, and are only for “experimental purposes” I smell foul play and don’t think it’s fair to exclude some answers from people scores. Also the study materials from CompTIA are way overpriced and CompTIA needs to do a better job of proofreading their material and using proper grammar, before posting and publishing it. Lots of unprofessional grammar and typos found. Also, I’ve had issues with some of their labs online. I’ve had to restart the lab several times due to connection issues and I don’t have the worst Internet at home.
Just taught an A+ class -disappointed
Just taught an A+ class.
Core 1 and Core 2 are clearly written by different people or teams. Bit disappointed as its not a cheap course.
Core 1 has a logical layout and introduces topics well. The modules on the platform are good and walk learners through each topic. practice exams have links to where to find the info for revision. Labs can be better, the UI is glitchy and not quite user friendly.
Core 2 is a much shorter module and should possibly have Mobile devices added to equalise the 2 Cores.
It is very repetitive with passwords, group policy and others being mentioned multiple times in different modules. This could be avoided by introducing the topic, covering it and then referring to it in relevant modules.
Labs are much more user friendly, but practice exams have no link to find the information in the modules.
Very USA centric - HIPAA, OSHA and others are only in USA, yet in content. This should be more generic for global reach
There are a few things not covered in platform modules or teaching resources - that are then in exams and practice exams.
I would suggest a full review of both teaching materials and the platform modules to ensure it flows better and that all questions in practice exams and actual exams are covered. Remove specific acronyms like HIPAA and OSHA, and discuss the concept.
Paid for Certificate, Never Received AND Repeatedly Ignored
i paid full price for a CompTIA certification exam and an additional fee for a physical certificate kit. It has now been months, and neither the complimentary kit nor the paid kit ever arrived.
I contacted CompTIA support multiple times. One representative acknowledged the issue and stated I would be refunded. Shortly after, another rep reversed this and claimed refunds weren’t allowed despite me never receiving the item I paid for.
They continued to send copy-paste responses blaming the postal service, offered no tracking number, no solution, and no accountability. After all the back-and-forth, I still don’t have the certificate I paid for, and they’ve refused to honor the refund their own staff promised.
It’s unacceptable in 2025 to operate this way, especially when customers are paying hundreds of dollars for exams. Poor communication, broken processes, and zero customer care.
I’ll never use CompTIA’s services again and strongly advise others to be cautious. Once they take your money, good luck getting any support or resolution if something goes wrong.
Terribly written content
Terribly written content. The end of section reviews are confusing and poorly writted and often test content that hasn't been covered yet. The labs are a mystery to me even though I have been in IT for 20 years so my son couldn't be more confused. Overall I can't believe they charge for this course. I asked for a refund and got no response from them. Avoid this at all cost.
Worst customer service experience…
Worst customer service experience received by CompTIA. They have taking multiple unsolictored payments from my account due to an error on their end. They still have not refunded my account and it has been over a week now.

Had a transaction for a comptia sec+ exam voucher fail a couple of times and it took my money. I’ve tried going through CompTIA support but it’s not great. I’ve had to get a dispute setup with my bank.
ORDER NOT SHOWING ON THE WEBSITE
On February 16th, I purchased the Comptia Master Labs for CySA+ and the Comptia CYSA+ Instructor Guide which comes with the instructor eBook. I paid a total of 448,70 Euros including the products, taxes and shipping. I received the email confirming the purchase, however, my order is not even showing up on their website, I have not received the access key for the labs any sign of the books and eBook. I already sent 2 emails to their costumer service I got ZERO responses.
Unfortunate merge of companies
I have now been billed for two months and I have no way to cancel because you need an activation code which I did not receive and have no access to courses.
I have submitted tickets, sent emails, updated emails.... Finally spoke with a real person today, we'll see.
So unfortunate. I have been using TestOut for years. The content and traings have been incredibly useful. The merge into Comptia has reduced this company to 0.
I’d like to update my previous…
I’d like to update my previous response. About the $350. They told me I wasn’t going to receive my refund and that I needed to schedule the exam after telling me multiple times they didn’t even see my order then told me the only recorded purchase they had from me was back in 2018 which I definitely did not purchase anything from this company ever. As promised I filed with the FTC, STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL and the BBB. Only after filing my complaints did they agree to return my money. So I did get my money back but they made jump through all these hoops after telling me I was not able to get a refund. Do not do business with this company.
To those people working on my case
To those people working on my case
I applied, did the test and booked for the interview (Yes, you read it right, it is just a damn course, I weren't applied for a job) booked in advance, then on the interview day, click the link and voila, no one showed up, though I need to update Zoom, updated and clicked the link, the link not working, sent an email to them and YES, they told me the class was full and they won't accept any application anymore...
I mean, bro, how hard for you guys to send AN EMAIL to let me know that it was full?
Why do you want me to take a day off work and attend the 15 goddamn minutes interview when just simply said it was full?
Wasted my time, if you guys don't know how to communicate efficiency then you guys need to close the damn customer service department then!!! I have no idea if this is an IT school or not, just simply send an email and can't do it in the first place, what a joke!
WEIRD
Okay, where do I start from? I kept data at home where my weaknesses are. I kept going over them with repetitions and researching them through over materials. My score is between 820-875/900. (Pass rate is 650)
I bought the premium study, which is an e-book and practice tests, (unlimited) where you can see where you need extra help, at the end of the TEST exam, you get a full break down, of the questions you were asked and the ones which you got wrong, I though that's brilliant!
The actual exam is 650-900, pass rate. I took the exam and failed, I was coming across questions that I had zero Knowledge about, where were these questions on my practice exams? I have never encountered before. Now, if I made a mistake, I hold my hands up and take full responsibility but there was nothing I could have done differently.
Someone that is getting 876 (Personal best) to a failure with 556, It just doesn't make sense. I even have the data to back up my claim. I will never ever again use CompTIA!!!
This company is a joke
I took the Network+ exam in a learning center and passed with an excellent score in just 30 minutes. Two months later, they invalidated my certificate without providing a valid reason. Initially, they claimed remote software was running on my computer, then they said it was because I didn't use my own PC. Now they're questioning the validity of my score with no real explanation. They are forcing me to retake the exam, but I can't schedule it because I already took it. Communication with the security department is a joke. They have some indian people using AI to write their emails because their English is bad. But these same people are telling you how to interpret the CompTIA agreements. A joke of a company.
Choose othe providers if you are not…
Choose othe providers if you are not from USA.. the renewal process for certification is extremely rigid and painful. It doesn't allow payment for PayPal account overseas, you have to vpn into their store to be voucher which you will have problem checking out and be led to another global store you can't even find what you need. It keeps bringing you in rounds, wasting alot of time with slow responding customer service.
This is a classic good example of a company that doesn't care about their members but just out to grab your money .. complacency and arrogance at its best
Copyright scam!
After hearing what you have done to LTT and NetworkChuck, I will never take any courses/exams with you. You've lost a customer and many many more once this comes to light. I hope you've had a good run and made yourself plenty of money to help fight your cause.
Absolute scam
Out of date useless cash grabbing scheme and no one should rely on it to hire someone
Good luck with password resets
Absolutely horrible experience. Can't even log in. Very, very carefully rest my password, no password manager, just straight copy-paste. "Login as XXX failed. Please try again." Ok, maybe my account was deleted? Try to create account. "Email address already associated with a login." Ok, cool, I guess I'll get my certs from somewhere else.
Couldn't schedule my exam due to an 500 error
Good evening,
After two months of preparation for the CYSA+ exam, I purchased (order #5421155) a voucher to schedule the exam for September 1, 2024. However, when attempting to book my exam, I encountered a 500 error stating that my access to the Pearson VUE website is restricted, 'Your access to the Pearson VUE website is restricted at this time. This could be due to a variety of circumstances, including past payment issues, etc.' Despite trying multiple devices, the issue persisted.
This situation has caused significant stress and frustration. Initially confident and prepared, I am now feeling anxious and unready due to this unforeseen technical issue. I tried again on September 2, 2024, but the problem remains unresolved.
I have lost nearly three days and am no longer confident about taking the exam. I request Pearson VUE address this issue by providing a complimentary exam voucher for a future date to compensate for the time lost and the stress caused.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
Best regards,
Eric Bailey

3 Certifications, 4 Tests, All Good Experiences
I have taken 4 tests to obtain my 3 Comptia Certifications, A+, Security+, and Net+ (twice). 3 of them were done through a testing center through my school and 1 was online through PearsonVue. My experience with PearsonVue testing was good, I elected to take it at 9pm at home and it only took me about 10-15 mins for the queue and pretest setup. For my A+ and Sec+, I used college class material to study and what they provided to the teachers cover 90% of the questions that i got on my tests. For my second Net+ exam, I studied using the CertMaster Questions and Study Guide Bundle that I bought off the website and it helped as it increased my score from my first attempt of 632 to my passing of 785. The questions on the Net+ were essentially the same as what i studied, just slightly worded differently and the PBQs were easy. Only issue I have with the tests is that A) they included questions that dont count towards your score but they dont identify them so you could waste essential time on questions that dont matter what you put and B) They dont tell you what questions you missed, just the topic, like you dont have to share the correct answer but I would have like to see just the exact question so I can figure out if i missed the 50/50 questions.
