Avoid this company

Not surprised to see 82% of their reviews are 1 star. I need to get a repeat prescription from the New Malden branch and have to pay £67.50 consultation fee plus £25 for the prescription before I even get to the cost of the actual pills! This company is just all about money and no consideration for animal welfare. Awful company.

I recently took my beautiful girl in to…

I recently took my beautiful girl in to be spayed—what should have been a routine procedure and, in my understanding, not an excessively costly one. However, I was shocked to be charged £468.

Naturally, I questioned the cost and asked for a breakdown of what had been done, this was given which only added to my frustration. While I cannot fault the staff themselves—they were kind and professional—the overall experience has left me feeling that the focus is more on profit than on fair and transparent care.

I have five rescue girls who all need to be spayed, and it doesn’t take much to realise that at this rate, the cost would come to an astonishing £2,340. That simply isn’t sustainable.

My cats mean everything to me and are absolutely worth every penny—but I do feel strongly that pricing should be reasonable and clearly justified. Sadly, this experience has led me to look elsewhere for veterinary care in the future.

Everyone will have their own opinion, but based on my experience, I would encourage others to ask questions and ensure they are comfortable with both the treatment and the costs involved before proceeding.

Big up Lesley! Brilliant vet.

I took my dog to the vets today because she had a tick and Lesley took her in and brought her out within 2 minutes with it removed. I have had to visit this vets a few times since moving ti Aylesbury and all the vets and staff are fantastic. Lesley is a lovely vet. Wouldn’t take my girls anywhere else

Dental clean nightmare

We took our 4 year old spaniel for his annual hygiene clean & they called to say they need a tooth out as it had come loose during the clean, I did call back within 10 minutes to say they need to take four teeth out i’m moving no more than 10 minutes again. They rang to say it’s now 12 teeth price at £840. We were naturally devastated but more frustrating is why in just a year? Did our teeth go from having healthy gums to need 12 teeth out, we are very disappointed when we tried telling them no but they said he will get gum disease and will be in a much worse condition so basically held us to ransom and ultimately had no choice but to agree

Avoid at all costs

Companion care, Cannock.
I would avoid at all costs.
This company do not have animal welfare at the heart of their practice, they are simply looking for ways to make money!
My dog went for her vaccinations and I mentioned her teeth had tartar. The vet wouldn’t examine her properly because she was ‘too jumpy’. She then told me she’d need teeth removing.
She also went on the tell me my dog needs to go on long term medication for osteoarthritis. This would also mean she’d need regular blood and urine tests.
I told the vet that although she was getting older I didn’t think she needed that treatment. I was told my dog was in pain and hiding it.

I have just come from another vet for a second opinion; my dogs joints are fine for her age and she just needs her teeth cleaning.

Please please don’t follow their advice without a second opinion.

Good treatment but daylight robbery on medicine

Redhill branch. Good treatment and ok with price of procedure BUT got quoted £175 for antibiotics. Queried if cheaper online and told it may be. £20 prescription fee, is fine as online ir was £15 INCLUDING DELIVERY! A saving of £140. That is daylight robbery. Always ask for prescription and pay the £20!

I've been SACKED!

The regular flea/worm treatment process is VERY simple, but complex here. Fixing it was just a firm abrubt and unfriendly process which ended up as a formal complaint. As a result, we received a sacking letter! Yes, they actually used the work SACKED in capital letters. I phoned up to ask why that term was used, but the firm abrubt and unfriendliness returned in their voice this time before the phone was angrilly slammed down on me because I asked questions! Needless to say we since have moved our dog to a different vet, especially given the other reviews here.

Companion Care Hatchwarren Basingstoke…

Companion Care Hatchwarren Basingstoke - avoid at all costs. Since original franchise owner, Jose, retired, it has declined in every way. My cat is currently in critical condition largely down to them sending him home with a potentially life threatening condition, noted by them on his medical records, so they can't even deny they knew... only interested in production line treatment and the money

*SALFORD PRACTICE* Take their licences off them and shut them down

The 1 star is for the Salford reception staff who are lovely and extremely helpful. Especially Graham who could not be better at his job.

The clinical staff get zero.

However, absolutely horrible experience. My poor little cat is sat on me right now crying her eyes out in pain. I took her to this terrible vet 3 days ago who charged me over £400 for blood tests and told me they’d be in contact the following day with the results. They didn’t. I had to call to get them off another vet there and was told she might have ‘this’ she might have ‘that’ of which I knew she can’t due to her history. They know the pains around her back but did nothing to help. Tried charging for more blood tests at another £400, and then £118 for an emergency appointment if I needed to bring her back. DO NOT go near them. I’m reporting them to the Royal College Of Veterinary Surgeons. They’ve shaved her neck to take the blood from and it looks awful. Taken off at least a 4’ x 2’ area. I’m so upset right now. Please please never use them.

I am now waiting for another vet to open to see if I can take my little one there. I’m just praying they can see her.

If you want to know that your poorly pets problem ‘might be this or might be that’ indefinitely and leave your pet in pain, then treat yourself to this vets. Your pet’s health will deteriorate whilst their bank balance gets much better.

Last time my cat had an illness, they were OK, but this time is inexcusable.

I wish I didn’t have to write this.

I have put this review on every single forum I can find about them.

Very disappointed

I am deeply disappointed by my experience at this clinic and have since taken my pet care elsewhere. Initially, I chose this clinic because of its convenient location, but after only two visits, I’ve learned convenience is meaningless if the service is careless and distressing.

On my first visit, the veterinarian misdiagnosed my cat and administered an injection that caused him to foam at the mouth. The entire process felt rushed and impersonal, and I left feeling that the veterinarian lacked both knowledge and genuine concern for my pet’s well-being. It’s appalling that this clinic is associated with Pets at Home. I urge others to think twice before trusting their beloved pets to this place.

My second experience was even more traumatic. I was referred to Vets4Pets in Romford, where I was quoted an exorbitant price for a “necessary” treatment. When I explained that I couldn’t afford it, the veterinarian raised her voice at me—an unprofessional and shocking response that left me in disbelief. Though she later apologised, her behavior was unforgettable and unforgivable. She then gave me two bleak options: proceed with the costly treatment or euthanise my cat. When I refused both, she dismissed me with a sarcastic “fingers crossed” that he survives, after previously telling me my cat was likely to die. The mental distress I endured that night was profound, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Terrible duty of care

Terrible duty of care . So after 15 years of my pets being cared for by companion care crayford I've decided to take and entrust the care of my dogs to another vet . My dogs are due their annual booster and I'm told the next available appointment for vaccination is in two months . That's really not acceptable and do they actually give a damn . Simple answere is no . I wrote a long email with my concerns . Did I get a reply ? No is the answere . Well companion care I certainly won't be bringing or leaving the care of much loved pets to you again . Thank you for putting my dogs at risk with the attitude of we really don't care

I wouldn't recommend Companion Care…

I wouldn't recommend Companion Care Vets inside pets at home in Tunbridge Wells. My furry baby had on x-ray done there by vet Graeme McKeown and I've been completely refused a copy or even pictures done by my phone of it "just saying operation need it £2.5 for it". After called them many times and visited personally, the vet invited me to the practice to "show" me the x-ray -not sure which pet x-ray was as the x-ray was nameless... Asked if I can do picture with my phone at least and the vet switched off the screen... Saying NO! That I'm just paying for it but he'd the owner of the pictures... And lots of abusive words. It makes you think ... what the hell going on in this practice ??! Definitely watch out for them they will cup open your pet just for money!
This situation and the way we beed treated It was traumatising to my to be honest, I've had recently another furry friend who need a vet so just switched them off permanently!

The staff at companion care Crayford…

The staff at companion care Crayford are tremendous. The harrowing experience I was dreading (having my cat put to sleep) was made a little easier by their care and consideration and I'm so appreciative for that. The condolence card they sent was a lovely touch. Good people.

Appalling

Appalling, patronizing and callous. Hideous markups on medication. No regard for adverse reactions to medicines they prescribe. Pet "care" plan is an absolute joke. Avoid!
