A bad and anti-Semitic company, they don't respect people, they keep your money and urinate on you with a bow, they are even worse than that, it's as if companies won't survive at all.

Coinsquare is fraudulent

First off I have my secret clearance which makes me an extremely trustworthy canadian citizen. This company withheld my money and started asking random questions before apparently deciding to release the funds. I had already been using the app as normal but out of the blue they wanted details of crypto deposits. They don't notify you about this process before depositing and trading. This is what I call a scam since they take your funds and hold them to do whatever they want. They answer questions with questions every 2-3 days so a simple question will go on for months. They eventually told me that I am not trustworthy of having an account and disabled mine. I am in the top 2% of trusted individuals in this country but go figure. The person who said I wasn't fit was someone named Manuel (it all adds up). Don't waste your time with this company unless you want to lose money and have non canadian residents inform you that you're not trustworthy in Canada. I hope they find these people and deal with them.

Discrepencies with dates of trades execution

The web site is alright. The pro-trade works well with the few cryptocurrencies allowed to be traded that way.
If you download your monthly statements from the French version of the website, the reports are a bit messed up compared to the English version. The worst is the discrepancies on the dates of order and execution; it's all messed up! If the CRA have a look at their books they'll have terrible headaches for sure!
I even noticed that there was a trade duplicate... in the CSV file they provide.

I nearly was wrecked using this site…

I nearly was wrecked using this site and they proceeded not to do anything about it. I found respite after searching for ways to go about it and I am writing this review for the people who have similar experiences, people that want to do something about their situation.

Terrible Customer Service

I've been using this app since 2018. You used to get customer support within a day. Now (May 2024) it takes a week, 2 weeks or more. They've held up a recent deposit, citing "new account 72 hr withdrawal hold." Uh, not a new account! Finally after 10 days I get a response from customer service on this issue. They say they need a screenshot of my deposit address to be sure it's mine. Then they said there's unusual activity in my wallet coming from addresses not linked to me that they need to identify. It turns out that's because my "use multiple address" to increase security feature is turned on when receiving deposits. Still, even with that understanding being clarified, funds have not been released.
Twice I've asked for an update since then (over a week ago). Nothing yet. The experience is exasperating.
Once this is resolved, I will never use Coinsquare again.

Cut throat fees and absent support

Joined their Canadian branch in 2022, and back then support would get back to you within hours or a couple of days at most. Now a full month can go by without hearing from then. Last time I had to call them out on LinkedIn to get timely support. Their fees are pretty high, regularly exceeding 2% per transaction. They have a Pro mode with limit trading were you can trade for 1%, but it can take a couple of weeks until your order is executed this way. By then the market is completely different. At two occasions I had these orders partially filled, with less than 0.01% remaining to be filled. It would stay like this for several days, and had to cancel the remainder on one occasion. And the best of all, the option to download transactions in csv format is nowhere to be found on their website. You get PDF only. No tax report, but a 10% discount partnership with cointracker where you have to pay at least $70 to get a tax plan. Deleting my account soon as I moved to another online crypto exchange.

I keep getting a 'restriction notice'…

I keep getting a 'restriction notice' when I try to withdraw. It keeps telling me there is a 72 hour wait period from your first deposit. I made my first deposit months ago. I'm having the exact same problem as Ranmcn below. This is the worst experience ever. They don't respond to emails. I tried their 'chat', no response. I'm glad I only put in small amount. Never again will I use Coinsquare. Absolutely the worst!

Pepe issues with Coinsquare.com CEX

The next day I posted this here, I coincidentally received an e-mail from support asking for screenshot of the issue. So the rating went up!
***
March 31th, I tried trading my bag of pepe on Coinsquare.com. There's an error message saying: "Required Amount". I can manually add 6 digits of pepe (ex:999999). Trying to enter a 7th digit will clear the box. Trying to process will trigger a pop up saying there is a minimum of 1M pepe that can be traded. Then I wrote to customer support and still no feed back 10 days later. Then I came on this review site reading it's a scam. I panicked and move all my other coins to a wallet. I hope they will fix the pepe issue so that I can regain trust.

Trouble with withdrawals

Keep getting Crypto and CAD withdrawals are restricted

For security reasons, there is a wait period on withdrawals for first-time deposits and recent account updates such as login credentials, 2FA & registered devices. I have sent support a email 4 times in the last week and know Reponse. Terrible customer service

Customer support? What support

If I could get some customer service I would be less upset. On March 11th I logged in and sold my coins...need the cash...next day tried to with draw and there's a hold on my account...still can't access the cash...it's 10 days later and still no response form support...I've emailed them every day since the 14th. Tried accessing them on Facebook using the link on their own support page and the page is currently not available. It is starting to feel like a scam. They claim that they are certified...lot of good that does anyone.

Come on CoinSquare...how about some kind of response...here...or to my email or put you Facebook page back up and talk to me there...I just want to withdraw my money.

Update: I finally got an email from CoinSquare support on March 25th informing me that I had to enable 2FA and do identity verification before I could withdraw from my account. I hadn't found anything in there online help to suggest that these steps were needed...which is a little frustrating. I was finally able to withdraw on April 1st. So the delay is partly on me for not having 2FA and identity verification completed...but the customer servers still sucked!

Just give me my money back

Just give me my money back. No tricks, hidden fees, what ever. It's been over a year I've been pursuing. Ready to call it a scam and report to the RCMP Fraud Squad. Maybe then I'll get my money back.

Absolutely Terrible Customer Support

It all started 2 days ago prior to the writing of this review. Tried to sign in to check my holdings and got an error message that process could not be completed. Reset my password figuring that might resolve the problem but to no avail. Sent support several messages through various methods but never got a response. Finally, after a day passed and several more messages to support, I am contacted by someone on Messenger. They advised me that they have sent my issue up to be escalated and I should hear back shortly. Well, now another day has passed and I still haven’t heard anything. Replied through Messenger that I still haven’t had this resolved and all I get for a response is to check my spam folder for an email. Still, absolutely nothing in any of my mailboxes. Now on day 3 and I’m still left hanging, not being able to access my account and not even sure if these clowns still have my initial, small investment that recently was actually doing ok.

Beware of a possible scam. Their support is non-existent!
