Great rental if you travel without…
Great rental if you travel without babies/kids. First time at Tenerife was easy and great. Second time once we asked for baby chair, they gave chair for 1year+ kid and converter for a newborn. My baby is just turned 4 months and is flying out of their newborn converter and she is a Dutch baby, bigger than average south European). She wiggles inside and it makes her sit in the chair rather than lay and supports no neck, head. Painful to see her while driving from discomfort and moreover no safety.

Hired a car through cicar in Gran Canaria. Pick up was painless, I provided my driving license and signed appropriate paperwork. The insurance, which was included, covered everything. The car had to be returned with appropriately the same amount of fuel as when picked up. On return it was a matter of handing in the keys. I have no hesitation in recommending cicar. I will definitely be using them again.

Cicar is the best car rental company in Canary Islands which are no-nonsense company and you get 100% insurance. I have rentel cars from the Cicar 6-7 times and have never any problems. Last time I damage the car (I was not happy) and as they told me it is 100% covered by the insurance. So I can only give 5 starts, but should be more. I am absolutely happy with Cicar.

Easy to find the car rental office at the airport, fast service in preparing the documents, the car was in good condition inside and out, there were no technical problems when driving, the staff was smiling and explained to us how to return the keys and who to contact if we have problems. And the price was relevant.

Best experience ever (36yo)
This has been the first time that I rent with full insurance, it was the only option for the company and I didn't mind as it was the most competitive in price I could find in La Palma. I do usually rent for both, business and private trips... and for private I usually either have my own insurance or take the risk to lose the excess. This time, it was great to pay at arrival, no deposit required, no credit card required... just as easy as it gets.
At arrival, they didn't have the car I rented (jeep avenger) so they had ready a Renegade... slightly older and not as good as the Avenger in my opinion but an acceptable change in my opinion.
The car was in good working order, mechanically sound (in other islands with roads of the same kind, car are frequently battered and companies don't keep on top on them, but this wasn't the case), clean, tires with good thread, all fluids to the levels including washing liquid... no complains at all.
I am quite surprised in all aspects of how good the experience was when I can compare it to other premium companies as sixt, avis or europcar.
The best car hire experience ever
This was the best experience I have had hiring a car! The prices were competitive with no charge for a second driver; no hard sell for insurance excess cover, nor large credit card deposit, just €20 for fuel. The collection and drop-off procedures were smooth, with friendly and efficient staff and the car was clean and new.

Prices have gone up, service down
Seven years ago I gave Cicar a 5 star review. Unfortunately over the years the prices have gone up significantly and the service has gone down. For the second year in a row we received a smaller car than we reserved. Last year I did not complain, but this year the boot of the car was much smaller (309l instead of 440l) making it very uncomfortable to move between resorts with 4 adults and their luggage. When I asked them to explain to me how a car that is 31,3cm shorter, 4,7cm smaller and 6,5cm lower could be the same category I received a picture of the current rental prices. First of all the price was only the same because the car that we booked was on offer (actually proving the point that we did not get what we paid for) and secondly how is the price a reference to categorise cars? If you reserve a limousine, but on the day you arrive they are on promotion costing the same as a fiat panda they would be the same category? Other companies clearly reference which cars are the same category so you know what to expect.
Disgraceful condition of car in Lanzarote
Never before have I rented a car with so many dents and scratches as well as being dirty both inside and out. The car had 63k kilometres on the clock and had a leather gear knob which was completely worn away on one side. I used their services several times a year. I have always ordered a car through their website. Everything was as ordered. However, from November 2023, cars will be available in the Canary Islands is very limited. I was advised to order a car over the phone. So I did. I ordered a car with an automatic transmission for a certain amount. At the airport it turned out that the price was 114 EUR higher. I agreed, I had no choice. But that's not the end. A car with a manual gearbox was waiting for me in the parking lot, and I ordered an automatic. I went to the office and filed a complaint. In the office they told me that I had to pay another 300 euros for a car with automatic transmission. Three weeks after submitting the complaint and requesting to listen to the recording of my reservation conversation, I received a reply that I had chosen such an offer at the airport. I regret my ordering decision By phone. Now I know that I should ask for confirmation by email or phone.
The car is in excellent condition, but they cheat with the fuel level
Car was in very good condition. I like it. But there was also a problem. When I received the car, the person at the front desk said it was half full. But when I received the keys and came to the parking lot, I saw that the car was 35-40% full. Service workers apparently hope that a tired person will not want to go to the airport terminal again, stand in line again and ask to renew the contract.

Book the car online didn’t speed up my check out. I booked a car with cicar expecting to have the car in a reasonable time at my arrival in fuerteventura but it took almost one hour for getting the car.
Long queue in the airport and a second long queue because the car I choose (a basic level) needed to be cleaned. An upgrade it would be much appreciated instead of an hour waiting. Next time I would go with autoreisen, same good review but less waiting line.
