Think 1000 times before you go to them They have enrolled me without telling me that I have to spend 185 days in UK before I go for my driving training and test they took 2400 pounds from me got to know on the 3rd day of training that when they gave me a form to sign before my reversing test after that they said you can come back once 185 days re complete and we will give u training but then when the time near and I called them for course they said we re not responsible for anything and won’t give any training and also won’t return any of my amount so it was total of 2400 pounds which they have taken from me for nothing and then started threatening me. I lost 2400 pounds hard earn money just because of Lee Calderbank and the owner Craig Baker also didn’t support in anything as he was aware of everything

We are disappointed to receive this review and feel it is important to clarify the facts.
The individual in question had already successfully passed their HGV theory test prior to enrolling with us. To take this test, DVSA regulations clearly state that a person must have been resident in the UK for at least 185 days within the past 12 months. By completing the theory test, the individual had already confirmed that they met this legal requirement.
We delivered the initial training as agreed. However, when it came to completing DVSA paperwork for the reversing test, concerns arose regarding the customer’s residency status. As a DVSA-approved training provider, we are legally obligated to verify eligibility before continuing with any testing. Unfortunately, we were unable to proceed until the residency requirement had been met.
We made it clear that training and testing could resume once the legal residency criteria had been fulfilled. Regrettably, rather than resolving the matter appropriately, the individual directed abusive and threatening language towards our staff and business. We have call recordings to support this and take such behaviour extremely seriously.
At our company, we are committed to delivering a fair, transparent, and professional service to all trainees.

HGV training…made easy
I recently completed my HGV training with Craig Baker HGV Training, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From start to finish, the entire process was smooth, professional, and incredibly supportive. The instructors are highly experienced, patient, and genuinely care about helping you succeed. They break everything down in a way that’s easy to understand, even for complete beginner.
I would like to thank the two Chris’s for patience (especially on roundabouts) and feel they were instrumental in my approach to the test. Also would like to wish Little Chris a speedy recovery from his recent illness.
I passed my test with confidence thanks to their expert guidance. If you’re considering getting your HGV license, I can’t recommend Craig Baker HGV Training highly enough – it’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. Top-class service all around!

I had the pleasure of both Kyle and Pedro showing me the ropes in the ambulance. Both were very through, patient and taught me what I needed to know to safely drive our new motorhome (and ultimately pass my test!) Would definitely recommend.

Bad experience
The instructors brilliant
This company full of miss information and planing is even worse
1 was told I was in on Wednesday and my test was Thursday in sheffield then they cancelled my test without my knowledge then when I called them they said test next week in Manchester which I find that bizarre ,I did ask the question why is that they say sheffield was closed because of health and safety something to do with ceiling I went few days later and I have asked the staff in sheffield they said that wasn't true we never closed,and on the day of the exam they didn't let me drive to Manchester so I lost a valuable driving time , on my first day I was meant to do 4 hours I end up doing 8 hours after a night shift , the trucks out of dates and you learn in short trailer and the test in long trailer which is strange.
I'm not saying avoid the company but check and confirm everything before.
1 more thing don't aspect to get apology from them.

However, we’d like to clarify that there was no mention of health and safety issues regarding the Sheffield centre, and we're uncertain where this information may have come from. We always strive for clear and accurate communication and apologize for any confusion caused.
We agree that training after a night shift can be difficult. We strongly advise against attending lessons after a night shift, whether it's for 4 hours or 8 hours. It's important that students feel rested and prepared to get the most out of their training. If there are ever any issues with scheduling, we're more than happy to work with you to find a better solution.
Regarding the trailer, it's important to note that, within each category, candidates should be prepared to handle a variety of vehicle types and sizes. Passing the test means you'll likely be required to drive vehicles of different lengths once you start your job. Our goal is to ensure that all students are confident and adaptable in handling any vehicle within their category.

Toughness pays off!
Had a 4 day (16 hour) course in Wigan. First 2 days were with Neil who took me round some quite challenging routes but kept my confidence up with plenty of encouragement and explained everything well. Day 3 was with Pedro who apologised at the start as he said he was going to be quite tough with me as the test was the next day. Same as the last 2 days with the difficulty of the routes. Felt knackered after concentrating for that long and dejected as was starting to make silly mistakes. Day 4 was with Chris who was taking me to the test, after half an hour he gave me a verbal kick up the jacksy and told me what I needed to change. When I started the test I was nervous but on seeing the route was nowhere near as difficult as what I had been doing, I started to relax. Passed first time no faults. If you are trained hard, the test is easy!

Wonderful experience with Craig baker! And instructor Marcus. I managed to pass both my practical and reverse parking of my class 2 tests.Marcus was great with helping me understand the vehicle and what I as a driver need to do, his experience in all classes and knowledge is really helpful and was a massive help for me passing. Warning to Future HGV Drivers – Avoid This Company
I strongly advise anyone considering training or working with this HGV company to think twice. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. The communication is absolutely terrible – you’re constantly left in the dark with no clear answers or updates. Customer service is just as bad, with staff that are either unhelpful or simply don’t care.
The quality of training is shockingly low. Instructors seem uninterested, and important details are often skipped. Even worse, the company has a habit of stealing training hours, cutting corners wherever they can. You end up underprepared and out of pocket.
There are plenty of reputable companies out there – do your research and go somewhere else. Don’t waste your time or money here. Be careful and don’t fall into the same trap I did.

When you initially came to us, your licence showed incorrect entitlements, which meant we had to adjust your training accordingly. This change was necessary and clearly explained at the time.
You later expressed that you didn’t feel you needed the full hours you had booked. However, based on our instructors’ assessment and in line with DVSA expectations, we advised that further training was essential to give you the best possible chance of passing. As reflected in your test report, that advice was accurate, and more training would have been beneficial.
We always aim to offer honest guidance, transparent communication, and high-quality training, and we're sorry you feel this wasn’t your experience. We’re here to support all our trainees and ensure they’re fully prepared to drive safely and confidently.
