Admin and bureaucracy
I have two mini fridges which I use to store wine. I sold one on Caousell without problem but when I came to selling the second they banned my listing say it was a duplicate listing!
I appealed saying that I owned two and was now selling the second and I was told to make sure the description wasn't the same to avoid violation of their listing rules and a potential account restriction!
Obviously there's no one I can explain what I'm doing to. I can't even email a response. So bizzare!
Hostile to new users
Hostile to new users - DO NOT DOWNLOAD
"Absolutely pathetic experience. I just signed up and was immediately slapped with a permanent suspension before I could even use the app. Support (shoutout to 'Anna') gave me a canned response about 'safety checks' and 'high risk' patterns. How can a brand-new account with zero activity be a risk? Your automated system is broken and your support is useless. Don't waste your time downloading this if you're a legitimate person—they’ll just ban you anyway."
Carousell more like CAROUHELL
Trust all the other reviews saying they protect the sellers and not the buyers, DO NOT TRANSACT ON THIS PLATFORM. You will be on the losing end.
Seller sent me a defected product because no protection was used, i wasnt even requesting for a monetary resolution, just to remove the 1 star review the seller unjustifiably changed from a 5 star review to 1 star for me just because i gave the seller a well deserved 1 star review for their irresponsible service, and carouhell support decided not to do so. They will brainlessly follow their useless policies instead of using their brains to assess the situation. Carouhell’s “resolution” was to have both parties agree to remove review, but why would i remove the only warning for their future buyers? Dont be ridiculous.
Support is also non-existent, will leave you on sent and not even bother replying to you for ages until i used another device to create a separate ticket (tip use different devices or browsers/incognito for those who have trouble getting rid of their current chat). Really a bunch of corporate slums getting paid to do nothing. TRASH MONKEY COMPANY.

Buyer sent me fake URL claiming from carosell stealing bank details. Though reacted fast still very poor app safety
I’ve been scammed twice in a row by…
I’ve been scammed twice in a row by AirPods sellers on Carousell. The first guy talked me into using PayNow during a meetup to save a few bucks, so there’s no paper trail. Then, an online seller straight-up sent me fakes. I complained to Carousell, but they totally side with the sellers and treat buyers like suckers. I'm done with this platform for good.
Horrible Support
Their support team is slow in reply and the AI chatbot is so useless. After asking some question, it will say that the issue is passed on to their backend team and that's all. There's no option to speak to a human live agent, and no option to stuck a new chat. Basically you are ghosted by the bot. Even if you restart your browser, the existing chat still remain and stuck forever.
For a big company like this, how can they have such horrible support? Don't advertise for live chat agent when there are no ways to reach them.
Carousell company is a scammer-like
Carousell is a scammer-like business that has lotsa grey-may-not-be-legit practices.
Its "unsubscribe" link from its own email is fake as it continues to send marketing materials after you have unsubscribed. Users beware.
Double standards = No standard
Not only they targeted and deleted my post for a common plaster used by many elderly for muscle and joints pain, they went further to slap me with Full month restriction when I appealed!
Many same plaster posts were found on the Carousell platform. Some already posted for months! Why target me?
Why even they need 1 star?!
Rubbish resale platform
Rubbish resale platform. Lot of prank around. If possible I would not give a single star.
carousell dispute service is terrible
carousell dispute service is terrible, i got proof that ninjavan did not deliver to my place but the ruling was still against me and i have to pay for it, worse carousell service ever
Banned for legitimate purchase attempt
When attempting to use this website to purchase an item it was very unclear if you could pay using the website.
I attempted to send a user a PayPal link that safely sends them money and was immediately banned, and even appealing and trying to explain that I was genuinely trying to purchase the item - even telling the seller to accept the offer so I could pay directly through Carousel the ban was upheld.
Don’t believe their crap!
I can’t rate this company low enough!!
Against my better judgement (as long as I don’t have to give my personal financial info), I thought ok…. I’ll give it a shot.
The first couple of days… went wellish. Then they come up with “joint transaction”. I had to top up my account with $33 USD ($48 CAD). After much battling with myself… I decided to see what would happen. Now, in theory, I could have pulled my investment out right then, I didn’t… my bad. SO continuing on, I did my 5 days to get the base pay of $800 USD. Thinking I had to complete the day to get that, I started the next task.
Well! I got another joint task but this time they want $1323.30 USD!!!! Uhhhhhh No!!! But they are soooo happy for me that when I complete this, my account will be $3330.00!
When this happens, you can’t move forward without payment and can’t go back to get the money you supposedly earned!!
Oh! And every transaction with Coinbase costs you as well!
It is a long con!!! Don’t fall for their BS!!
platform is pure dogshit now
platform is pure dogshit now. The AI filters out everything even when post is harmless. You almost can't sell anything
Zero Customers’ Service
Customers’ Service is basically non-existent and buttons for help are just for show. No one cares if you’d reported something/someone for fraudulent transactions nor bad sellers/buyers.
Full of scam and useless admin
Carousell does not protect buyers
Carousell is a very frustrating platform. Sellers can post items for purchase through the platform but when you make the purchase through the Protection program, they can decide not to ship items out and not honour transaction. The platform also rewards bad actors/scammers and do not protect buyers
Whole bunch of monkeys company...
A buyer bought something. Their partnet J&T failed to pick up item for a whole week. Keep scheduling. End up I took the trouble to go post office send to the buyer. Paid $6.20 from my own pocket. They promised to reimbused me but been chasing and they never did. Will warn all buyers do not ever use their courier service. They charged the buyer (I think they never refunded her) and they failed to return me the postage. All in all, seems like really whole bunch of monkeys running the company. Real shame.
Horrible platform for buyers.........AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
Sellers don't respond at all. No way to ensure seller is legit. Too many items still come up on search from over 5 years ago.
I have personally been incredibly grateful
I have personally been incredibly grateful for Carosell during my time in Hong Kong. Compared to Facebook Marketplace, Offerup (which is garbage), and Neighbor, the interface is so clean, barely any advertisements, and straight to the point with reliable reviews.
I have always bought/sold in-person so can't speak for the shipping stuff that everyone else is complaining about.
