Absolutely unresponsive

Absolutely unresponsive customer support. Everything is left to an AI chatbot which, even after giving all the details and photos required, will proceed to ghost you with no follow-up or replies. There is no option to write in via email or to call or to speak to a human being. The support centre is just a facade. There is no one actually manning or giving support. If you have been scammed by a seller, your money is good as gone.

Garbage platform for buying

Garbage platform. You can pay and buy something listed but the seller is not obliged to sell it to you. They can back out after a few days of you waiting for it and then the platform gives your money back. No penalties to seller and you can't even put a review when this happens. What a waste of time.

'Certified' phone purchase & Carousell warranty - avoid

Have enjoyed countless great bargains and smooth transactions on the platform. Love the concept, been using it for 1.5 years as buyer and seller.

That said, I cannot recommend their 'Certified' mobile service. I was led to believe I needed ad-on warranty because of an incorrect manufacturer warranty expiry date listed in the ad. 3 months old at the time of purchase, certified, inspected & 'like new', the phone catastrophically failed only 6 months later. Launched a warranty claim with Carousell only to learn from their authorised repair center I still had manufacturer's warranty. Followed their advice and used the manufacturer's warranty instead after I was reassured that the Carousell warranty would still be valid afterwards. Manufacturer, however, ended up having to replace the phone as it was deemed 'unrepairable' without any external damage or impact (as I also have a work phone and a quality case). The Carousell add-on warranty was subsequently voided. Customer services referred to a 'change-of-mind-cancellation' clause which did not apply in my case since the manufacturer replaced the phone which couldn't be repaired. I was mis-sold the Carousell add-on warranty service as the seller posted an incorrect date in the ad leading me to believe that my device was much older than it actually was. Under CPFTA, consumers are protected against unfair practices incl misleading claims about goods. I provided detailed evidence on my experience but was told the mis-sold warranty, which I was never going to be able to use and was a waste of money, could not be refunded or transferred. The add-on warranty is a service contract for protection. Since the device had to be swapped due to a defect covered by the Certified promise, the warranty should logically transfer to the replacement unit or alternatively, be refunded as the service can no longer be rendered due to the original item's failure. No acknowledgement of seller's incorrect data in the original ad, the fact that a 'like new' Carousell-certified phone failed after 6 months of normal use without external impact, or authorised repair center's advice to use manufacturer's warranty. Customer Services kept on referring to their policy even though it says nothing about a case like mine where the original purchase promise was broken, incorrect sales information were provided and the item didn't live up to the advertised standard.

The ridiculous thing is that the 24-month warranty was only some 60 SGD. Not a biggie, doesn't render me bankrupt. Why not simply refund or transfer given I had such a bad experience with one of their 'certified' sellers and 'certified, like new products'? Not even an outrageous request, I should have received better service under CPFTA.

Idiot company that sells luxury and always pumped it to the top page where we public can’t even sell our items there. Worst part is that they keeps charging everywhere to make money. Such a lousy company stupid concept.

*Admin if you are reading this, this is a genuine review as I have screenshots as proof.

Carousell, I've Warned you MULTIPLE times on 26/04/2025 not to let Carousell staff Abe email me again and get a SENIOR CAROUSELL MANAGER to contact me.
However, you chose not to listen.
For this persistent harassment, you get this review.

I have evidence to show that your company revealed my details and the transfer screenshot to another Carousell user despite me persistently telling you not to do so and without my permission.

This is a Violation of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

I had hoped to resolve this amicably.

But, it seems you are not willing to support me by keep allowing Abe to harass me with emails that does not solve the problem. That's why I'm writing this review.

Optimise Security Features

Compromises convenience over security - One account to sign in only.

Some elderly who aspires to sell their items also will not understand how to even sign in, where is the flexibility and efficiency?

People may not had recalled their exact email address affiliated with account, that is why they registered for another.

Recommend that after registration, you cannot sign out and create another account or contact support to access the account with generated authenticated passphrase.

Furthermore, the platform must also ensure that once an SMTP server domain has been changed, migrate all your services there; not just exclusively to one email.

With that, do enhance your services for the betterment of commercialisation and digital marketing. Thank you.

Carousell Unreliable

I have been with them for >10 years, and all my feedbacks from more than 180 buyers/sellers are given me 5 stars review, and I never get any thing less than 5 stars. Carousell has suspended my account for no vaild reason. They just said I have another account but that account they mention is not even mine. In this, 10+ years, I have built a good reputation on it's platform. They can just kick you out anytime they like. I feel we are nothing but trading under their mercy. Carousell unlike from last time, now can't call them, only can email. No more human touch. Replied email with standard answer, with no help at all.
if they continue with this type of service, just need an Apps like the past Carousell, and the current Carousell will be like Gumtree phase out.

Unprofessional support service!

During 23rd September, a buyer @williamdu67797 bought my mesh router but he refused to confirm and pay on the app from his end. I raised the situation to the carousell support and lodged a police report on the buyer. For the past 3 days, there were no words from carousell support. However today, 27th September, the carousell support in favor of the buyer! What an unprofessional support from carousell.

My experience with this company has…

My experience with this company has been disappointing. They seem focused solely on collecting money through monthly subscriptions and charging for every posting using purchased coins. Their customer service is incredibly poor, with communication being a major issue. The Q&A system doesn't address our questions, and despite submitting inquiries via the 'Contact Us' page, we've received no response on my change on Addresses and Collection points . It's frustrating to see so many resellers, like us, having to support a company that fails to provide adequate service or support.

One of the best app out there to de…

One of the best app out there to de clutter. Been using it for 7 years.

BUT the whole operation is run by Bots (or inexperienced/cheap labour).

There is a “Buy” button for buyers to have a safe purchase where the payment goes to Carousell first n only released to seller when buyer confirms receipt by courier. Meanwhile they earn daily interest on that payment. If your buyer receives the item and Does Not key in “Received” .....

The “Buy” button also let the buyer think he can choose the “meet-up” place even tho seller has stated clearly on the listing. If you attempt to describe to buyer how to use Waze to come to your place, the app blocks it and says you are Violating the Guidelines.

As at today, i’ve disabled the “Buy” button.

Carousell has done well in the beginning and it has already brought in investors for the founders. I guess mission accomplished?

I’ve reported a few times to Admin on certain stuff but the responses are what reviewers call Cut n Paste. I call them Bots.

Don’t believe carousell

Don’t believe carousell, they ask you to join as a business partner then if they found your business earn the money they will grab it and tick you off.
Eg: Cars,Handphone,Luxury Items,Cloths and so on.

No EU countries

I wish there was a way to buy on Carousell from the EU, that's all.
While I can make an account, there's no way to confirm my account and chat with sellers because I don't have phone number from the selected countries.

It was my first time and it will be the last!

My account is suspended after I sent the seller an offer to buy a product!

Meanwhile, I had ordered another product and my account is suspended so I cannot communicate with the seller and I have been waiting for 1 day now to cancel my suspending but they don't do that. I just asked them at the end to delete my account completely and cancel my order and return my money but they can't do that and I have to wait again! just SERIOUS!!!
