BWS Devonport, Tas, somewhat deceptive pricing policy
I buy from BWS Devonport Tas often as it is conveniently located in Devonport Tas on my way home. This afternoon, at the checkout I realised that what I am paying does not add up to what I expected. I asked for a receipt and then asked the young lady cashier why am I paying more than what is marked on the shelves. She happily told me that the prices on the shelves is only valid if you use the app. It must be really fine print on the pricing on the shelves as I did not notice it. This is highly deceptive in my opinion and cost me 10% today. I cringe to think how much extra I paid over the years. Shame on them.

Normally trusty and readily available not this time
Normally trusty and readily available. But upon last visit there was little on offer and what was there was a bunch of overpriced rubbish. I mean BWS we can do a lot better than that mate. Liquorland might be my next choice from now on.
BWS Online Orders - what a waste of time
I really wish I’d checked how poor BWS’s online order ratings were before trusting them with a client’s Christmas delivery.
I placed and paid for the order online, but their system automatically associated it with my client’s name. This morning, I received a cancellation message with no explanation. When I called to clarify, I was told they couldn’t discuss the order with me because it was linked to my client’s name — despite me being the one who placed and paid for it. I was simply told to send an email.
This leaves me in a difficult position in the final working week of the year, scrambling to find an alternative at short notice.
Poor form, BWS. If you’re going to offer online ordering, it needs to be supported by clear processes and customer service. As it stands, the experience was inefficient and a waste of time for everyone involved.
Order cancelled
My order was cancelled as the driver arrived to pick it up. No explanation given.
I went to the store and had to pay again then I had to instigate a refund.
This comes on top of 75% of the time the wrong bottle was delivered...I will be deleting the app.
Discrimination etc
Discrimination, racism and bullying all in one hit. Will never go back there again. BWS
I am in my 70's and do not own a smart…
I am in my 70's and do not own a smart phone. I shop for other people as well as myself and spend between 400 and 600 dollars per month. I was in BWS Nambour yesterday, where you had APP specials on Canadian club whiskey, and was told I could not have the special because i didn't have the APP. This pure discrimination and I am not buying another phone to get your specials. I had 8 bottles on the counter ready to buy, but after being told no to the special, I only spent $80, I know BWS won,t care, but I am now shopping at Dan Murphys about half an hour drive away to place my monthly order. I remember when customers were valued, not being told by the store what to do, I was even told by a young man working there, "catch up or be left behind" disgusting. No doubt we was trained at a meeting.
We won't be beaten on price...no siree Bob?!
I have a BWS here in Northpoint, in Toowoomba.
Almost without exception, every time I go in there, the prices are always $3-5 dearer than Liquorland or Dan's.
For example Jacobs Creek Chardonnay: BWS $11.
Dans $7.50.
Liquorland $7.20.
I mean that's nearly a 40% difference?!
Delivery from Liquorland is always good, and affordable.
But BWS is an ex WW's outfit, now Endeavour, so getting screwed is just par for the course!
We won't be beaten on price...no siree Bob?!
We're the most expensive grog shop in Toowoomba...yes siree, Bob?!
Great customer service
Used to be great for deliveries but no longer..
This used to be a great fast alcohol delivery service until suddenly about two months ago they got rid of their reliable Deliver Now/EG Group in-house drivers and changed all deliveries to Uber Eats. Since then I have not been able to order anything because the idiotic Uber Eats company insists that their drivers scan a customer's ID into their app and if the ID is expired it will order the driver to return the alcohol to the shop. I am over 60 years old so why can't the drivers be allowed to actually use their brains and eyes to verify that I am not under age?? The EG drivers were able to do this but not Uber. So it's goodbye to BWS..

Last week at Everton Park paid 52 dollars for 24 beer. This week was charged 60 dollars. As a pensioner that is a rude increase in 1 week.
I went to BWS Rivervale on September…
I went to BWS Rivervale on September 11th and, man, I don’t think I'll be back. Yeah, they’ve got heaps of drinks, that's cool, but that’s about it.
The staff were just plain rude and useless. I asked about a wine I'd bought before, and the guy snapped at me like, "If it’s not on the shelf, it’s not here. Look yourself." Seriously? Like I'm bothering him for doing his job. No help, no clue, nothing.
Honestly, this shop's only good if you already know exactly what you want. Don't bother asking questions — they'll just make you feel dumb for even trying.
Putrid experience
Discriminated against. Disrespected. Absolutely disgusting treatment by BWS. Brought their issues to their attention to only be sent a gift card (a third of the price of the cost of the items i had purchased which was cancelled by BWS with no refund still) but that doesn't work and now they have ignored my emails. Disgusting!
Zero concern
Placed an order at 6, driver turns up at 7
20. Has only half, tells me that's what he was given, so I need to contact the store. I do, kid who stuffed up tells me he doesn't know what to do. I call BWS onlines 1300 number at 7.40, wait 10 minutes then get disconnected. It's now 8.15, no sign of delivery. ZERO CONCERN FROM ANYONE AT BWS!!!
I'm a seizure patient
I'm a seizure patient, so I don't know what's going on around me half the time, it is hard enough to get out of the house when experiencing seizures,my seizures are level 3 and cluster seizures and I Had a stock/front desk worker threaten me and continue to follow me around the Woolworths whilst I was trying to put mince away and look at bread yelling and carrying on that he was gonna f me up and that he doesn't care about his job, to give him a reason etc, I suggest you look into your staff at Cobram bws, the one attached to Woolies, was a tall gentleman with a purple hat, anyway I am seeking assault and harrassment charges on your worker, hope you guys sort out your staff.
BWS Website
The BWS website is the worst piece of shit I've ever had to order on.
Hahn super dry? Also Tooheys extra,Carlton dry and VB cans all unavailable for delivery Today The bws website is extremely slow and…
The bws website is extremely slow and frustrating. It takes way too long to do anything.
I only use delivery and I like that I can get alcohol delivery for $12 within 1 hour. It's fantastic.
But it takes me so long to order 1 item, at least 15mins. And then usually is out of stock. There are 2 bws that are within 6.5km,one that is all ways out of stock is Geelong West Packington st. of my address (275 Church Street Herne Hill). Only one of those stores will deliver this far? 6.5km for the next furthest in Newtown. I've been a loyal customer and only drink one beer ,HAHN SUPER DRY. PLEASE order more for Packington street bws, cans and 345ml bottles. Please put a limit of 2 per person on the 345ml Hahn super dry bottles(stubbies) if you going to sell them half price. Since special has been on I have not been able to get 1 single box.
Out of stock most time
Out of stock most time , but they charge you for it
And $85 for a six pack of hinterland lashes. Wtf
BWS Deceptive Marketing…
BWS are using deceptive and dishonest marketing through their APP specials.
Prices revert to full retail at the point of purchase and unless you check your receipt or bank statement you have been conned!
When confronted about this they state that prices are 'store specific' and guess what , the advertised special price is never available in your local store. I don't know ow how they are allowed to continue practising these scams and ripping off the public. I will never step foot in one of their stores again!
