Find a different company, BINANCE is DOGSH💩T

I wanted to share my experience as a first-time customer on Binance.US because it was incredibly frustrating and left me feeling misled.

I recently converted 1,801 USDT to BTC on Binance.US. The conversion screen explicitly stated “no fees”, so I trusted it. However, after the transaction, I realized that Binance applied a significantly inflated exchange rate:
• Rate applied: 98,857.1 USDT/BTC
• Market rate at the time: ~102,000 USDT/BTC

Because of this, I received 0.01625028 BTC instead of what I should have received (~0.01766 BTC), costing me roughly $144 worth of BTC.

The Problem:
• The “Preview” screen only showed the BTC amount (e.g., 0.01625028 BTC) but didn’t show the USD equivalent.
• Without knowing how much that BTC translated to in dollars, I had no way of realizing the inflated rate or the loss I was taking.
• Binance claims “no fees,” but the spread acts like a hidden fee that’s not made clear.

The Support Interaction:

I contacted Binance Support to resolve this issue, and here’s what happened:
1. They initially told me the cost difference was due to market conditions and “spread.”
2. They contradicted themselves by later saying there are fees included in the total amount shown before confirming.
3. When I pointed out the lack of transparency and misleading “no fees” claim, they apologized but said there’s nothing they could do.
4. They escalated my case to their internal team, but the response was the same—no refund, no resolution.
5. Eventually, they started sending me links to generic fee explanations, completely ignoring the core issue of miscommunication and hidden costs.

Why This Matters:

As a first-time user, I expected better. Binance claimed there were no fees, but the inflated rate cost me significantly more than any fee would have. If the spread is part of the cost, it should be made crystal clear—not hidden behind misleading claims.

This process has been exhausting, and the lack of resolution or accountability is disappointing. I trusted Binance to be transparent, and instead, I was left feeling scammed out of my money.

If you’re thinking of using Binance’s “Buy Crypto” or “Convert” feature, beware of the hidden spread costs. Use the Advanced Trading option instead, where you can place limit or market orders to avoid these inflated rates.

I hope Binance improves their transparency and stops advertising “no fees” when there are clearly hidden costs. I’m sharing this so others don’t fall into the same trap.

team is so bad and doesn't respect users

I waited for two months to activate my account, and it was not activated faster, I sent for the team all what they asked me for my ID, bank statement, water, and electricity contract to prove the address and record a video with carrying the ID and after all this, they did not open my account and tell me a stupid reason by the service agent in charge (which is that I do not use login from the same residential location)
Do I have to leave my job and not go anywhere to use the platform?
I don't understand why this team is so bad and doesn't respect users in responding to all emails professionally.
I will file a complaint to law enforcement authorities and claim compensation as you have restricted my freedom and excluded me without my will from using a website without any legal basis for that and without any reason.

Misleading advertising and extremely bad customer service!

I had a horrible experience Binance.us. Their advertising links with Binance.com. They are sister companies but do not offer the same product. I tried subscribing to Binance.com but it directed me to Binance.us. I assumed that they sold the same product and made a deposit incurring a fee. When I tried buying the crypto I wanted they did not offer it it would not refund my entire deposit even though they know they have misleading advertising. I would highly recommend using crypto.com over them.

Binance is a horrible sleazefest of an exchange

Binance is a horrible exchange. They charge insane fees on simple transactions, even where they advertise the fee being 0 (For example conversions, they give you less than market rates to take money from you while showing the Fee at $0.00). The only thing on binance that doesn't charge you insane fees is depositing. I tried to send 200 dollars of Tether USD (ERC-20) to my other wallet and they wanted to charge me $18 for fees. Anyone who has used tether knows the fees are closer to ~2-3 dollars. And as always they claimed $0.00 binance fees and tried to pass it as a "transactional fee". Complete BS. I depositied $350 and left with $305 after everything was said and done. That is $45 of fees, most of which were never disclosed and were sneakily hidden. The only way to get around these fees is to invest and hold large amounts of money in BNB. Its completely scummy and I wouldn't recommend anyone uses this company. I have since switched to Coinbase and have had 0 issues with them so far, they have annoying fees too but they are nowhere near as bad as Binance. They also make taxes 100x easier and their support was a lot more responsive. Don't waste your time with this scum company

Never trust this binance.us web

Never trust this binance.us web. They charge super expensive on hidden "spread" fee even though they claim zero commission fee. I sold some BTC on it, it charges 4.6% fee on their web: they show the BTC price 69k, but when I sold it, they sold it at 66k. Ridiculous! These people are crooks!

No way to get verified as an H1B…

No way to get verified as an H1B foreign national. They do not accept a valid US Driving Licence as it says "Limited-Term" and they do not accept I-797 which is a valid work authorization document. Denying over 600,000 individuals from using the service by not accepting valid US documents is discriminatory.

To start trading I choose Binance…

To start trading I choose Binance because on YouTube everybody says for crypto trading Binance is the best platform but this couldn't be true. This is a scamming company only. I sent $7,000 to my Binance wallet ETH address but still has not been received and it's been more than 20 days. I contacted the support team they said we haven't received any transaction on your ETH address. I provided them payment screenshot but still have not received any response or solutions.

Fraud

Stay away from binance.us. I transferred ocean and fetch because I read that binance was supporting the merge. It cost about $5 to transfer. But then I found out they do not support the merge and transferred out. It gave me an estimate of $8 and then charged me $25!!! Then fetch, estimated at $8, charged $16!!! Even after transferring it out I bought and transferred on coinbase just to check and the fee said estimate at $1.5 and came in at $1.6. Binance sucks. Any other business that gave an estimate of $8 and then charged 300% of that would be fraud. Emailed support they said "sorry, no control, excellent customer experience" blah blah blah. Stay away from binance. They have a billionaire founder sitting in jail right now too.

Horrible Customer Service

I have attempted to open an Institutional account with them which requires submitting business documents for verification.
Their standard wait time for approval is 2 weeks and the site recommends to contact support if not completed in this time frame. It has now been 4 weeks and I have contacted support agents at least 3 times since. These people (only available via chat) have been completely useless; they cannot provide any information regarding status or timing for approval, or even if anyone has even reviewed any of the documents.
They cannot escalate me to anyone who is capable of helping with the issue. They only claim that someone from their email support team will contact me at sometime in the future but cannot provide any timing for that either. It has been 2 weeks since my first contact with support and to date I have received no contact whatsoever. Additionally every agent always end the chat with a flag that says "This issue has been marked as solved" when it clearly is not.

Unreliable and sketchy

UPDATE: 4 days later and Support is now telling me that I never submitted any documentation. So the hour-long conversation and documents upload 4 days ago was for nothing. What on Earth is going on over there?

There's always a bug or something extremely broken on the platform - it's as if no one is actually working on it or monitoring it. This time none of my authenticator codes worked for logging in, though they always have in the past. So I had to send two photos and a video of myself to support in order to reset the authenticator app, though I'm certain the bug is on their side. Now I'm locked out of my account for days waiting for a resolution from Binance Support. As soon as I'm logged in I am transferring my coins to Coinbase and shutting down my account. Binance doesn't feel professional at all.
