STAY AWAY FROM THEM if i could leave 0 i would do it they would not give me a car insurance because I am french and my car is from 2010 . he also mentions that they dont want any jewish clients!!!! so racist company would be the right definition for them . shame on you. I wsh them the karma they deserve aas we all need to heal
Utterly disgraceful.
Utterly disgraceful.
Over 31 minutes on hold just to cancel a house insurance policy. While I wait, AXA has the nerve to ask me to spend two minutes leaving feedback about their “customer service” — which is nonexistent because they do not answer their phones.
They claim everything can be done online… except cancelling. For that, you must call a number they won’t answer. And when they finally do? They tell you the line is closed after keeping you hanging for half an hour.
This isn’t bad service — it’s deliberate obstruction.
Avoid AXA. I won’t be using them again.
5-hour wait and broken promises
5-hour wait and broken promises – Still waiting.
"I am writing this review while currently stranded. My van broke down this morning and I contacted AXA Breakdown Assistance immediately at 10:00 AM.
10:00 AM: Reported the breakdown.
Update: Received a text message confirming a recovery vehicle would arrive at 12:45 PM.
Current status (15:37 PM): The promised time has passed by nearly 3 hours. No one has arrived, and shockingly, no one from AXA has contacted me to explain the delay.
Relying on AXA for a commercial vehicle was a mistake. Leaving a customer stranded for over 5 hours without communication is negligent."
Thank you to Cameron today for being so…
Thank you to Cameron today for being so helpful over the phone with my car insurance policy.
I usually find it very overwhelming when it comes to car insurance but Cameron put me at ease & went above & beyond to help today.
Thank you so much
He's an amazing asset to your company.
Tried ringing
Tried ringing, my phone cut out during payment and they didn't ring me back to take payment for monthly insurance and she also told me that I would receive my lost documents via email which she also didn't do.
Service Par Excellence.
Absolutely brilliant staff. Most professional.Fully explained all details to me. Couldn’t be more helpful. I left the office fully informed about my insurance details. A most pleasant experience. Service par excellence. Most highly recommended. Many thanks.
Ridiculous company to deal with
I have been insured with Axa for almost 12 years and I can tell that this will be my last year. They refused to recover third party damages from a vehicle that almost collided with me and caused me to incur damages.
Almost three years later and they have told me that this is a non recoverable claim as there was no direct collision. Ridiculous. I have never had a good experience calling Axa on the phone from Ireland, their call centre is in Derry.
Called their motorcycle insurance to get a quote and got refused by a snotty lady named Barbara. I got cover with Principal Insurance on a learner permit with no issues for half the cost of car insurance and guess what...underwritten by Axa! This is a joke of an insurance company, although they all are. The insurance market in Europe is awash with fraudulent claims and every other honest person is picking up the pieces. Their TV ads are cringe-worthy to say the least.
AXA Home insurance is an absolute…
AXA Home insurance is an absolute disgrace. I can’t stress how low an option I have of them. 25 years with AIB paying home insurance and twice I have put in a claim and they have been refused. Wear and Tear. Need to get a contractor to work on the damage so out of pocket. Absolutely no point in paying home insurance with them. Just flush the money. It’s the same thing
Extremely Disappointing Experience with AXA Insurance
Our car was hit by a truck insured by AXA in June 2025, and since then, the experience with this company has been unacceptable. When I visited the AXA office in Dublin city centre, I spoke with Dave, who manages the claims desk. Unfortunately, he was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional.
AXA provided false information about the truck’s insurance, which I later confirmed with the Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland. When I went to the office to understand what was happening, Dave told me that AXA wouldn’t deal with my case because people affected by the storm in January 2024 were a “priority” — implying that my case didn’t matter. I was there with my baby, and he repeatedly accused me of lying and told me to simply accept that my situation wasn’t important.
It’s now been months, and no one from AXA has contacted us. Despite clear CCTV evidence proving that the other party was at fault, we are being held responsible and paying higher insurance premiums.
I am taking legal action against AXA and strongly advise others to stay away from this company. Their lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service is shocking.
Worst company ever
Very rude staff
Very rude staff. I had a horrible experience trying to get a quote. Wouldn’t recommend this insurance company to anyone.
I’ve been with AXA Insurance for 6…
I’ve been with AXA Insurance for 6 years and paying a good bit of money for my policy, but after my recent experience I’ll be leaving at the end of the month. Yesterday my car broke down and I called them for help, as I was not covered for breakdown assistance. Despite this, they wanted to charge me €150 just to tow the car to a garage – even though the nearest one was only 350m away.
In the end, I managed to get the car going again myself with jump leads, but the lack of help and support was very disappointing. After years of loyalty and high premiums, I expected far better. There are plenty of cheaper providers out there with better cover, so I would not recommend AXA based on my experience.
Rising Costs, Worse Coverage, and Serious Ethical Concerns – Avoid AXA
I have been a customer with AXA Insurance Ireland for many years, but unfortunately, my recent experience has been very disappointing. Despite gaining additional driving experience, building up my no-claims bonus, and getting older (all of which should reduce premiums for a young driver), I was shocked to see my renewal premium increase compared to last year.
When I queried this, there was very little effort made to offer a fair adjustment or challenge the pricing. On top of that, after deciding not to renew, I noticed that my policy excess had been increased from €500 to €650 without any clear communication. This is a prime example of why it pays to read the small print – you end up paying more for reduced value.
Beyond the customer service and pricing issues, it is also deeply concerning to see AXA’s public support for Israel despite its ongoing actions in Gaza, which many human rights organisations have described as ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. Personally, I cannot justify continuing to support a company that aligns itself with such actions.
Overall, between the unfair premium increases, the lack of transparency, and the wider ethical concerns, I would strongly recommend avoiding AXA.
Avoid like the plague.
I’ve had mortgage payments protection with them for 18 years. I’ve recently been made unemployed. They didn’t care, even though I’d been working for years.
Don’t ever expect a payout. They’ll find a loophole somewhere to ensure their profits are maximised and their long term customers are left financially destitute.
If I could give zero stars free Palestine
If I could give zero stars I would they will never help u with anything what more do u expect from a company that supports Israel
Such a disrgraceful company and support…
Such a disrgraceful company and support services. Called in the reduce the renewal premium and all I have heard is cold and inhumane voice declining all the requests. Such an absurd way to handle customers.
Absolutely fantastic from this girl
Excellent service received from a lovely polite and well educated girl at her job,she is an excellent asset to AXA company in Derry ,she really went above and beyond in her role in helping myself and my son with his insurance ,Katelyn mccloskey I hope you really get the praise you deserve because you are one in a million from a very grateful parent of one of your customers thank you very much again .
This was my first experience purchasing…
This was my first experience purchasing car insurance with AXA, and unfortunately, it was highly disappointing. The staff displayed an unwelcoming and unprofessional attitude throughout the process. There was little opportunity to ask questions or seek clarification, as the representatives were dismissive and abrupt. Instead of providing guidance, they focused solely on interrogating me in a curt and impolite manner.
