Astracast Reviews 

Bought an Astracast granite composite sink a couple of years ago now, but within a couple of months, residual water on the slightly textured surface began to form mold stains. Unless you religiously clean and dry the thing this happens quite quickly. I've had stainless steel sinks in the past which were very low maintenance by comparison. Eventually resorted to a cleaner containing diluted bleach. It works but not for long and it fills the air with noxious fumes.
No way I'd recommend, my advice 'avoid'.

Got the cases 4 of them within 2 days of being on the phone the paint started to chip on two emailed company sounded like they would help me sent pictures at this time in the Meantime my husband’s phone I take pictures of and I send it to the company the next time I looked at my phone later that they may be the next day the charging cover was not there just gone sent pic again they said we like our customers to be 100% satisfied seems we have not done that in this case hopefully we do better in the future basically and that was it

Just been reading the other reviews & it looks like things went seriously downhill for them.

My personal experience was excellent, I’ve had a green sink for 20 years, and customer service was brilliant at providing a replacement tap blank free of charge after I managed to break it.

The awful and bad not fit for purpose reputation of this company and its failing products is strongly justifiable. I bought an Astracast Ceramic 1 1/2 sink in January 2019. It was damaged in the rear corner before arrival, but I fitted it hiding the damage. After 2 years of use the glaze inside the bowl is showing fissures mainly eminating from the waste and corners of the ceramic bowl base. Although the manufacturer apparently has gone bust, the customer service statement response that the glaze is cracked is very profound and i had worked that out for myself. It should not have happened. In the written rhetoric supplied with the product it claims resistant to all household chemical products. Very High temperatures and promises years of trouble free service!!! This sink has been carefully looked after and the assertion that boiling liquids have caused it to crack would lead me to be insist it is not fit for purpose! Where else are you going to pour the water from your peas, carrots or boiled eggs. Its in the kitchen for goodness sake. We even have a protective plastic mat to protect from impact.

So if they continue to refuse to take responsibility i will be back on line to get them to engage.

I have had my cream sink for 20 years and its still going strong !

Bought a cascade black sink from wickes didnt save receipt sink split in 4 places and astracast would not change even though we had bank accounts t statement showing payment,wickes could not help because they dont keep records of individual sales,I was gutted ruined my new kitchen had to buy another because of 4mtr worktop in my new kitchen husbands fitting g today he says I will give it a year well receipt is saved this ti e customer service is crap avoid

AVOID. No back up and no customer service. My sink rapidly discoloured and chipped without any impact. Disgraceful that Wickes and Wren are offering this rubbish. Just avoid it at all costs.

Further to my recent review the directors of Astracast formed a new company in November 2018 called Astrasinks they knew what they were doing when Astracast took customers money they knew they would not fulfil the orders, stay well clear of Astrasinks, if you have paid for an order and not received the item you may be able to claim off your credit card using chargeback

This company took my money 29 dec for their recommended sink cleaner for ROK granite sink . They are crooks had a letter dated 2nd Jan 2019 saying it would be with me in 5 days , however did not materialise and after being put hold for more than ten minutes at a time several times and countless emails found out from screwfix they have gone bust !!!!!!!!!!! so not only do I have 2 of their sinks and ?any warranty on them but they have also robbed me of £18

A totally disgraceful company that does not have the customer at the forefront. The customer service department is non existent, Katie, Kay and Lindsey are shockingly appalling and should never ever work in the customer services department for any other company, they always blame the customer and are ill mannered. I for one am pleased that the company has closed down. It should never resurface again. Awful products and even worse customer service people.

Shocking that companies like Wren and Wickes are still selling this dreadful company's products. At least customers of these two companies have redress with them as the retailer.

I placed an order with Astracast in December, have been trying to obtain a delivery date from them, have emailed twice - no response,
have phoned main switchboard, gives out recorded message stating they are closed with the opening hours, but I am calling within those hours. Have tried their Sales phone number and Consumer services number but on both numbers my call is placed in a queue, eventually recorded message states transferring to voicemail box and then informed mailbox is full and call is terminated, Rather looks as though they may have gone out of business. I have just checked and they took payment from mu account on 24th Dec.

Darren Cooper, owner of sinks and taps supplier Astracast, has admitted the company is “in the process of being wound up” after major production problems at its factory in Malta.

I purchased a sink pack in December 2018 and still haven’t received it. I have sent many emails but never had a response. I have tried messaging from Facebook again to no avail. Even when I ring I am immediately put on hold or told to call back in their office hours even though I am doing already. Very frustrating company to deal with. All I want now is my money back. Unacceptable way to treat customers.

I have had several Astracast Kitchen Mixer Taps and in the past have been very pleased with them, they don’t usually leak/drip which is important. When we had a kitchen refit I purchased an Astracast Finesse Mixer Tap in Volcano Black to match the Astracast Sink, what a mistake!
After 15 months or so I noticed that the surface finish was breaking down and peeling off in several places so I finally contacted Customer Services some six months later, mistake number 2
I sent photographs to demonstrate the problem and after a week received a very unhelpful and curt reply. It was of course my fault, and anyway surface finish was only guaranteed for a year so on your bike
So although the tap finish looks great when new be warned based on my experience it will deteriorate in a fairly short timescale

Had an Astacast Korona ROC sink in my kitchen for nearly three years when my wife noticed water in the sink cabinet. On investigation there was a long crack on the underside from the drain hole to the basin side and this crack had also appeared to a lesser extent inside the basin thus causing the leak. After removing the sink I noticed a number or smaller cracks around the drain hole. On sending photos to Astracast they pronounced that the failure was caused by impact or stress loading. Bearing in mind that the drain was connected to a flexible pipe and the sink was only subjected to normal use the only conclusion is that the material used for the sink was not fit for purpose. Be warned if you in tend to fit a ceramic sink from Astracast.

sink was cracked in two places after only 6 months careful use.
despite many attempts to get the situation rectified astracast were negligent at best [ignorant,and incompetent is more accurate]. they insist that the sink was fractured due to misuse . they did not even bother to look at it so quite how they came to this conclusion is beyond me[it was not ...it is a common fault] . avoid them at all costs. this is not the end of the situation

I purchased an Astracast FINESSE SPRINGFLOW Water Filter Tap - brushed steel a few years ago, and the performance and quality has been really terrible. Within a few months the cartridge in the tap began creaking and eventually seized, it took so much effort to turn the tap handle that it loosened the tap body from the counter-top.
Astracast sent me a replacement cartridge, which I had the trouble of fitting; now that one has also seized.
The finish on the tap is also flaking.
Don't be fooled by the claim that the Springflow taps provide filtered water; the 'filter' is a solid block of charcoal (£20+ pounds each!), which fits loosly in a plastic tube. Some water might go through the filter, but because of the way the filter fits in the plastic tube, water can also flow around the edges of the charcoal insert and straight out into the tap, meaning that it is not filtered at all.
I noticed no difference in the 'filtered' water, e.g. it still resulted in scaling in my kettle, to the same degree as if I had used water straight from the 'unfiltered' tap.
I would not recommend Astracast products on my experience of them.

I have Also bought a kitchen from Wrens which included a sink made by Astracast. Within few months it had started to be discoloured and few years later it looks terrible. Wren booklet say there was life time guarantee, but Astracast says Staining and discolouration are not covered under the terms of the Astracast warranty. I will continue with my case but it looks like the sink is rusting from the bottom.

We bought Astracast Vantage sink, but unfortunately it was delivered damaged (even though there was no damage to the box and it was well packaged... so not damaged during transport).

Although this sink really does look good, the quality is so poor that there are so many that end up bent! Just take a look at how many there are on ebay with bent edges - both in the corners and near the tap hole (ours will be there soon too, as no refunds were given despite this product being faulty!)
Don't bother wasting your money - go elsewhere.

All These reviews are correct. This company should not be trading. I have never encountered such a bad company. I ordered two identical burgundy sinks, on arrival both were badly damaged. When I complained they said it was the delivery men. However, no damage at all occurred to the boxes. Second lot of sinks badly damaged and returned again. Third lot of sinks were fine up until the fitters fitted them three weeks later and informed me that one of the drainers was wrong. Never thought to check that because the box said LHD which was what I ordered. The fittings were also missing. Astracast refused to reimburse. Don’t deal with this company. I am now in the process of involving trading standards as they shouldn’t be trading.
