Review of Steel Door Company

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent company: quality, value for money and customer service spot on

Excellent company. I spent lots of time researching options for two steel doors and obtained a handful of quotes.
This company provided an excellent overall package of price, quality, value for money, customer service and flexibility.
Jack was incredible from day 1, very responsive and attentive and even messaging me from his holiday!
Would highly recommend and for what it’s worth i am a very fussy person with high standards

Avoid - company is a scam

Avoid. We bought two bottles for our daughters. After massive delay they finally arrived. One arrived cracked. The other leaks. Customer service do not respond to any emails. It doesn’t exist.
Company is a scam.
Don’t disappoint your kids.

Hi Dan,

we're sorry to hear that you received your bottles in this condition. Our team is dealing with a larger than average volume of requests right now, but a colleague will get back to you as quickly as possible. 🤗

Best wishes,

This is a Chinese local supplier posing as a UK retailer

Ordered a light on 6 March still not here.
Just so people are aware - this is a local Chinese manufacturer that made a website pretending to be a UK shop.
Nothing is based in UK and all shipping comes from China by standard mail hence over 30 day wait.
Customer service reply every two days only by email.

Don't be fooled by the cheap price. This is a terrible experience vs. the mainstream car rental companies

Don't be fooled by the cheap price.
Their apparent strategy is to draw you in with a very cheap headline price and then do everything possible to pressure you to take their expensive insurance once you're in there.
This industry is so badly in need of proper regulation!
A list of the key issues i encountered at the Hilton Paddington branch:
- Rude and badly trained staff
- Claim not to accept AMEX for excess deposit and that it's very clear in the confirmation email (it is mentioned in footnote 17 in illegible format and tiny font size)
- As a consequence, to use my Visa card they could "only accept a max. of £400 deposit" from the card, which - wait for it... - could only be allowed if i purchased the extra daily excess waiver insurance, which - wait for it.... - only costs £32 extra per day, i.e. more than doubling the car rental charge
- As an alternative i offered to pay them up front with my debit card the entire excess (or even the entire value of the car), which they could refund to me on return
- They claimed their "merchant" wouldn't allow that transaction because they "recently changed merchants"
- in summary this was a waste of 2 hours of my time and the staff did nothing but lie and push to sell me insurance from the minute i walked in there
- I have learnt the hard way, but the moral of the story is just pay more for a reputable established brand like Avis. it is really not worth the time and stress to save £10/15 per day

Hi Dan,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We are extremely sorry to hear that you found our deposit requirements to be unexpected. Green Motion make every effort to inform customers during the booking process that a major credit card in the main driver's name must be available for the security deposit. If you would like to discuss this further with us please feel free to contact us using the form at www.greenmotion.com/contact.

Thank you for your assistance.

Kind regards,

BEWARE - Always read the bad reviews! And look at reviews.co.uk for the truth

BEWARE - PRODUCT QUALITY IS AWFUL and THE MADE / HOMESERVE SCAM MUST BE EXPOSED
- We spent £2k with Made
- 5 of the items went faulty within months - really poor quality, all made in China
- They advertise as "Oak", it's just a compressed poor quality MDF cheap wood with a veneer
- The worst bit: to qualify for a replacement, MADE push hard to send their "recommended furniture inspection company" Homeserve.
Homeserve "technicians" are not qualified and have no knowledge about carpentry or furniture.
There's loads of evidence online that Made have a special agreement with Homeserve and pay them commissions to always rule the inspection in Made's favour (i.e. "improper use" by the customer). This saves Made thousands and reduces their returns.

Clever business, but totally unethical and rips off customers.

- Made will do everything possible to avoid helping customers and replacing their awfully made Chinese products

BEWARE. And do NOT use their partner Homeserve!

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for taking the time to review. We are sorry to hear of your concerns and that several of your items were faulty. This is not what we expect from ourselves and we do not believe this is acceptable. Regarding your Home Serve feedback, we can assure you that Home Serve are an independent furniture company and we use them to create a fair report on our products. Damaged item received after 9 weeks waiting!! Zero solution offered

MADE has a great website and some nice designs.
However the way they operate is vastly worse than some of the longer term established furniture companies.

I waited 9 weeks(!) for a £100 footstool, which arrived with three massive scratches across the fabric. This was an anniversary gift.
Having spent £2,500 with MADE over the last 3 months, I expected (and requested) a full apology along with a meaningful amount of money off the item.

They offered absolutely nothing by way of compensation. The CEO Ning Li and his team ignored my emails. In the end all they offered was a replacement, which would take another 10 weeks!

Really a poor experience and clearly have no appreciation of customer loyalty. They should never send out items in that condition, especially after a customer waits such a long period of time.

Review of Fads

Fantastic experience from start to finish

incredible and knowledgable sales advice taking the time to walk me through a whole range of options and explain the pros and cons of each.

Extremely competitive on price - I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else.

Payment and delivery process was seamless and I especially liked it that they kept me up to date on delivery and delivered within a promised time range of 2 hours, meaning I could plan my day.

Whoever runs this company is doing everything right and I'd definitely use FADS for all my furniture.
