Ordered a children’s scooter and specifically requested it to be delivered to an INPOST locker for self-collection. A few days later I received an email confirming it was ready for pickup. Great—except the locker was empty.
After wasting my time and energy checking multiple times, I contacted YODEL for an explanation. Four days later, they casually informed me the package had been returned to the company. No notification. No apology. Just silence.
Now it’s been over a week, and the company keeps repeating the same line—“we’re waiting for the order to be returned before resolving your issue.” They’ve provided zero updates, no timeline, and no solution.
This has been an absolute nightmare of poor communication, careless logistics, and customer neglect. If you enjoy chasing phantom packages and getting ignored, this is the company for you.
Bought a zinc velocity plus escooter…
Bought a zinc velocity plus escooter over a year ago now due to wear and tear the rear tyre is cracked and worn
Ok so firstly i take scooter to a engineer who specializes in repairing escooters he tells me due to the dimensions of the escooter that he doesnt have tyres that can fit in limited space and advises me to purchase a tyre from zinc themselves
Firstly out of stock for over a month eventually i purchase a tyre from zinc
Then i take tyre to my engineer who is unable to fit as in his words the tyre is of poor quality and unpliable hes fitted many tyres before on other makes of escooter and never come across anything as dificult to use.
Contacted zinc for assistance they just say they manufactorer tyre blah blah blah give instructions to fit which my engineer has also tried even tried using a specialist machine.
Result im left without a escooter whilst my engineer struggles to fix it.
I get the impression zinc are a small company without the specialist custoner support in place clearly not run very well at all and my advice AVOID buying from them in my opinion they are ameteurs
DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY - Dangerous Product & Poor Customer Service
I purchased the Zinc Venture Seated Electric Scooter for Adults and unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of disappointing — and dangerous.
Within just a few weeks of use, the kickstand broke, causing the scooter to constantly fall over. As a result, the speed monitor also became damaged. I attempted to contact Zinc, Flyte, and Hy-Pro International Ltd by phone but couldn’t get through to anyone. I eventually contacted Argos, where I purchased the scooter, and they managed to get the company to call me back. When they did, they offered to send a replacement speed monitor but expected me to install it myself — something I had no knowledge or ability to do. Even a professional bike shop told me they couldn’t install it.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago: while riding the scooter, I came off the pavement, and the entire frame snapped in half. The actual metal alloys fractured completely, resulting in a crash that caused me pain, distress, and further damage.
Since then, I’ve contacted the company again. Their website clearly states that if the frame of one of their scooters snaps, they will provide replacement parts, or if that’s not possible, they will replace the scooter entirely. However, they told me they cannot provide the parts because they are no longer supplying this scooter to the public. Yet, at the same time, the exact same model is still being sold on Argos, proving that their claims are untrue.
Their customer service has been appalling — unhelpful, dismissive, and dishonest. I urge anyone considering buying this product for themselves or their children to think twice. It is extremely unsafe and poorly supported by the manufacturer.
I will also attach photos as evidence. Please be cautious and stay safe.
@Zinc @Flyte @Hy-Pro International Ltd — You are putting people’s safety at risk. Please do better.
Disappointing Purchase: Poor Battery Life and Customer Service
This electric scooter proved to be a disappointment. I purchased it for my son, but after just three months, it stopped working—even though he barely used it. While the speed suited him well, the battery drained quickly, often dying within 10 minutes of riding, requiring constant recharging. Eventually, he lost interest in the scooter altogether. When I reached out to Zinc for support, they were completely unhelpful. Save yourself the trouble and consider a different brand instead. I would have given zero stars if I could. The only reason I gave one star is because there wasn’t an option to give none.
Product does not last electric scooter…

My daughters scooter broke within warranty period - she had used it a handful of times and it had been kept in the garage dry the whole time. Customer service said it was fair wear and tear and totally fobbed me off. AVOID

This company is fraudulent. We received a broken electric scooter last Christmas and despite multiple calls, emails, they NEVER refunded the money. How they are still trading I’ll never know.

Disappointing and Dangerous Experience with Zinc Sport
I had high hopes for Zinc Sport, but my recent experience has been disappointing. Since reporting an issue with my bicycle in November, I have yet to receive any meaningful updates or solutions. Despite several follow-up emails, communication has been lacking and has now ceased entirely.
The initial problem involved one of the pedals splitting in half while cycling through a junction, which was life-threatening. I received one replacement, but the same thing happened within a month. This is a major failure that needs to be addressed by manufacturing standards! Then, I had the crank arm coming loose and detaching from the spindle, causing a creaking noise when pedaling. I provided detailed explanations and photos to Zinc Sport to support my claim, but the responses I received were unhelpful and did not address the root cause of the issue. The suggestions given, like greasing the bottom bracket spindle, did not solve the problem—mind you, this was a brand-new bike!
To make matters worse, a new issue arose with the pawl lock on the rear wheel malfunctioning, rendering my bike completely unusable. Despite informing Zinc Sport about this, I have not received any guidance or updates on how to proceed with this new problem.
While I understand that the team might be experiencing a high volume of service requests, the lack of communication and resolution has been frustrating. My bike is essential for my daily commute, and being without it for an extended period has been highly inconvenient.
I don’t believe Zinc Sport can improve their customer service and provide timely and effective solutions to their customers. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend them ever!
Fraudulent company with no customer care
The company pretended to send us the two products we ordered. First, we received a false tracking ID. Now the order seems to have been at customs for weeks. Customer service is not taking care of it and is not responding. We will now request a refund of the credit card payment, as this is clearly fraudulent.
Faulty bike and no help
Bike is faulty and not for purpose and customer service won’t do anything about it. Had the bike since January and the bike tyre has gone 3 times since then. Had to have a new battery and it’s still rubbish. I only go 7 miles 2-3 times a week. The entire back wheel is faulty now and probably not safe to ride on. I just want my money back so I can get a decent bike to get to work but they are having none of it. The professionals in the bike repair shop do not like it at all. It’s costing me more to keep it running safely.
Truly awful company - ignores you when you have a faulty item!!!
Truly awful company. Bought a scooter and it arrived faulty. 1 reply to my first email and I’ve been ignored since. Stuck with a faulty scooter, and can’t get my money back. Avoid at all costs!!!!!
I purchased a zinc flex electric…
I purchased a zinc flex electric scooter from zinc sports I n November for my daughter for Xmas. On opening the box to charge it on the 22nd December ready for Xmas day , I discovered a damaged LCD screen on the handle bars. So with complete panic I purchased another hoping it would get dispatched within 24hrs as stated on the web site. Mean while I contacted customer services via email to explain what has happened, since the 22nd I have had no reply to my email regaurding the damaged scooter, neither have I received my second purchased scooter!!!
I’ve tried to contact by zinc by phone but number is not recognised , also tried hy-pro that shows on the invoice of the second scooter and get answer phone. Left several emails asking about new scooters arrival and still no reply!!!
I have one upset daughter and I’m one pissed off dad. Terrible customer service. All I want is some answers.
Been waiting for 4 days for a reply
Been waiting for 4 days for a reply. Can't get through via phone as always goes to answer machine. I had one response and since then, I've not heard back from them.
The scooter is faulty and I want to know the process in getting a new one.
My daughters scooter came apart at the…
My daughters scooter came apart at the folding mechanism while she was using it. I could see it was an easy fix with the right part. I went on to the website and easily found what I was looking for. I paid for the standard delivery which said up to 7 days. 2 days later the part arrived and my daughter has her scooter back to play with. Very pleased.with how easy it was to order and the shipment time was excellent. The part itself was easy to fit and my daughter is thrilled. Thoroughly recommend this company.
Excellent Customer Service
Contacted Zinc Sports as my son's scooter handle bar had broken (the pin that allows the handle bar to be height adjusted). It was just out of the 12 month warranty. I emailed Zinc Sports with the details and to ask if there was anything they could do and if a replacement part could be purchased. My email was responded to within a couple of days. A replacement was offered free of charge and arrived within a couple of days of postage. From me sending my initial email to the part arriving was a week. Tomas who dealt with it was polite, responsive to emails and dealt with the matter promptly. Good customer service seems to be rarity these days but I cannot fault Tomas and Zinc Sports
Shocking quality. Worn out after 5 months.
Bought a Zinc Folding Light Up Identity Scooter directly from Zincsports.com in September, for our 5 year old's birthday. Within two weeks the griptape had half peeled off, which they did replace the scooter for. After only 5 months of using the replacement to and from school, the griptape has peeled off again, the brake has a hole worn through it, and the front wheel bearings are completely trashed so it wont ride smoothly. Support says these are classed as wearing parts and won't replace them. Needless to say that my 5 year old is devastated.
