Good experience

I had a good experience. They picked me up in MIA. Really easy to reserve and easy to pick up. Drop off was easy also. Car was clean. Nice service!

Complete scam artists

Complete scam artists - avoid at all costs. 'Unforeseen costs' were 6x the cost of the original rental.

They told us we 'arrived out of hours' because they were slow to arrive with their shuttle from the airport and because they were slow to rent the car to us.

They also charged us $200+ for using one toll road. This was after us asking if we needed to pre-pay tolls which we were told 'You can just pay cash' - however, they never told us that there were 'cashless tolls' in the area where that wasn't an option. When we asked about it on return of the vehicle, they simply told us 'the tolls will come off the deposit' - no mention of the ridiculous 'admin' fee we would be charged.

When I inquired by email after receiving the bill, I got blunt responses saying that I was in the wrong.

In 30 years, I don't think I've had a worse experience with a rental car company.

Dear Mr. Cassidy,
As it was explained through e-mail, the following additional charges have impacted your original rental cost.

#1 You have picked up your rental car after hours. This is the reason why "Out of hours" charge has been applied.
Your original pick up time was scheduled at 08:00 pm. In fact, the car has been picked up at 09:15 pm. Usually, shuttle takes 5-7 min from/to airport, maximum 10 min in case of traffic.

#2 You were using toll roads and express lanes during the rental period without paying for them. This definitely led to multiple toll violation charges.
Each customer is offered to purchase toll service at pick up time. If customer rejects such service, customer commits not to use toll roads in order to avoid violation charges.
Rental agency staff always require to sign special rejection form where every single paragraph begins from "I have been clearly notified..."
This form contains complete disclosure of the toll service. This form is signed in addition to verbal explanations. Please, contact us if you need to have a copy of the rejection form with your signature.

!!!HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!!! First of all the car had at least 30 damaging issues on it which I hd all to sign and confirmed with the guy of this strange warehouse place in NW 3945, 32nd. Ave. MIAMI. After 2 days I had a flat tire problem caused by a production problem of the tire. It gots bubbels and went flat. I did not hit any specific nail or anything. Thanks god I was driving slowy in the city when it occured. The subcontractor Enjoycarhire / Surprice Car Rentals called the towing comany and I had to pay 90 US$ They bring the car to a tire fixing company where I had to wait 3 hours to get a new tire, because they did not have the specific tire. I had to pay another 86 US$. When I returned the car I showed the old tire which had no external whole or nail inside. They promised me to refund the money. Now I am waiting since 4 weeks and more than 4 reminders by E-mail. They not even send me any answer.

Dear Alexander,
First of all we regret about your negative experience. I've just pulled out your reservation details and found the following.

#1. As it follows from our service records, 4 new tires have been installed on November 15th, 2018 on the car you were renting from us.
Your rental started on December 4th and ended on December 7th of 2018. It means less than 3 weeks passed from the date when new tires were installed.
We always pay serious attention to a safety of a fleet we provide for rent since it is our customers safety and our own liability in case of an accident, if any.
Due to the reasons mentioned above "caused by a production problem of the tire. It gots bubbels and went flat" seems pretty strange.
Most likely, you were driving the car on a flat tire during some time which is definitely destroyed the tire cord.

#2. "The subcontractor Enjoycarhire / Surprice Car Rentals called the towing comany". The person who was calling many different towing companies and searching for the lowest price for you was OUR employee, but not a someone's one.
If a reason of the incident would be on our side, the rental agency definitely would have paid for towing services as well as for the tire cost. However, this is not so in this case.

#3. "When I returned the car I showed the old tire which had no external whole or nail inside."
As I said above the tire cord was completely destroyed due to driving on a flat tire.

#4. In accordance with safety requirements it is not allowed to use rental vehicle with different wear and tire protectors, tires are always replaced by pairs.
This is why we were forced to purchase 2 new tires with same protector as the other 2 tires have.

#5. An appropriate amount covering these expenses has been withheld from your security deposit which is common practice for all rental agencies all around the world. The rest has been refunded to you on December 13th, 2018.
There is no more refund expected.

Really great experience

Really great experience. I was nervous about even renting a car after reading so many bad reviews about other companies and almost went with one of the most expensive to try to get a better service; so I'm glad I trusted ZigZag.

Great experience

Great experience. I reserved a car online and someone responded well within 24 hours. In the office, the "walk-around" inspection, paperwork, and explanations were efficiently done. Overall, I would recommend this company.
