Overall good experience at this company. The place can be a little tough to find, but as they provide shuttle service from airport, it's better to remember the address while on the way fro airport

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! A REAL RIP-OFF!

Like many others here, I have been ripped off by this company and I do regret choosing this car rental company for my holiday.

When I rented the car, customer service was just rude and very unhelpful when asking questions as you could just tell by the look on their face they could not be bothered answering questions. In particular the way they guys at front desk spoke to my lady was just despicable and extremely rude!

Despite the fact that I returned the car in excellent conditions and at the right time as per contract, at the end of the rental period, zigzag rental car did not refund my deposit of 600 Dollars within 5 working days as per contract!!! Instead, after a few days from the end of the contract with them, they attempted charging me another 400 Dollars for NO REASON! Yes, you have heard it right! Got all evidence of the attempted charge from my card company!
When asking for explanations by sending emails to their customer service, they even had the gut to say that they had completed the refund on my card while it was completely FALSE. Instead they had just tried charging more money on it!

After a few emails sent where I requested proofs of payment on their side, they decided to refund me of 300 dollars stating that they could not give my deposit back on full because of toll charges and late car return. While I take all the responsibility for the toll charges encountered (although 25 Dollar admin fee charge for toll is a total scam as the toll fee in US roads is just 1 Dollar), I told them I would not entitle zigzag to charge me any money for late car return.
In fact, the car was returned at the right time within the contractual obligations in accordance with their car drop off clause. The car had been dropped off at 5.54pm and the deadline was 6pm! Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE, zigzag rent company has the right to charge me for a late drop off when the vehicle was returned WITHIN the grace period. Also, after returning the car I had to wait 15 mins for the guy at the font desk to be ready to serve me and final check the car. At that time he was busy having an argument with another customer about the car agreement (I wonder WHY?!). After checking the car, the employee confirmed me and my partner that the car had been returned on time and I was not going to be subject to additional charges. Now I am just claiming back the deducted amount of 150 Dollars + taxes!! Even in this case, zigzag car company is in breach of its contractual obligations.

Last but not least, zig zag car rental requested a copy of my driving licence a few days before the end of the rental period!! They let me rent a car without having a copy of my or my partner’s driving licence on file!! While they should have requested a copy way before allowing me to rent the car!! This is just UNLAWFUL.

Please do yourself a favour and stay clear from these people!!
Choose a serious and honest car rental company!

First of all

First of all, I had to wait for a long time for the shuttle service to pick me up! The agency manager was not on time so it was not possible for me to pick up the car at the time I indicated to. And i also waited 1 hour until they were done with other customers and then the clerk took a really long time to fill out the paper work! This really messed with my plans since I lost a lot of time. Moreover, the clerk later asked me to provide insurance documents which I never had to provide for any of the car rentals (and I have rented many cars). Since when does one have to provide proof of insurance? But when I did provide the proof – a copy of my current insurance card - he informed me that it was not enough and I need to purchase additional insurance from them. Terrible service! Think twice before renting a car here.

BEWARE!!!!!

BEWARE!!!!!! I wish I saw the many negative reviews on this site, google and yelp before I booked with them. They come up on search engines (ie. Kayak where I found them) as airport location. This is not the case. The "5-7 minute shuttle" is a complete lie. When we called to get picked up it took FORTY MINUTES for the shuttle to arrive. Then it took 25 minutes in the shuttle to get there. There being a sketchy looking place in the middle of the ghetto. We were travelling with my 2 year old son.

They said nothing about tolls to us. We were from out of town and did not realize there were tolls until we were already driving on the highway. When I asked him about it after he blankly informed me that there is a $25 per toll charge. So given that we passed through about 6 or 7 tolls I'm sure there will be an extra $200 charge. He said I should have set up a pass beforehand however he conveniently did not tell us this at the beginning. There was no communication about anything unless I specifically asked them.

The "baby seat" we rented with the car was rickety and not safe at all. It did not tighten enough to a point where it would be helpful in a car accident.

I read the reviews about getting charged a $20 late pick-up fee. We were late but I called them ahead of time and told them we would be late. However I would not be surprised if my invoice will show up later and have that fee tacked on. I will likely be writing another review after I receive my invoice because I fully expect more hidden fees and charges after reading the many other reviews.

I am surprised this company is still in business. Complete fraud. The minimal savings compared to a reputable company IS NOT WORTH IT especially since they add so many hidden fees that you end up paying way more in the end. Hopefully enough of these reviews become widespread online and stop people from giving them business.

the company charged me over $ 600 for…

the company charged me more than $ 600 for $ 25 each of tolls (which cost them $ 3) for which I never had proof of invoice and statement by email. I know that I have spent 4 times voluntarily. they kept my driver's license they had printed and without realizing it, I spent the week without a license. someone could have called me. Please make sure it took 10 days for me to refund my security deposit. stay on the spot until gin to close your transaction. I will make a complaint and inform everyone I know not to do business with zigzag.

the worst company

believe me, it is the worst rental cars company. It is totally scam. They keep withdrawing money from my credit card. They have very hidden conditions that are TOTALLY different than the 3rd party contract. The pick up and drop off locations WERE NOT the airport! the time for drop off has been changed than the main contract! they dont have morals, they are bad guys, not professional at all. They literally LIE to me and I am sure to other costumers. I got much trouble because they made two deposite transactions of amounts $600 and $750 within 4 days!

In my opinion

In my opinion, this is very important when you come to an unfamiliar city that you already have a car booked and do not have to rush around in search. In addition, they also explained in detail how it is most convenient for us to get to the hotel. Vehicle condition is excellent! Clean inside and outside, full tank, navigator. Documents signed in five minutes.

Their customer care is great

Their customer care is great. When I had questions before making a reservation, they answered all my questions in detail. And the rental experience itself was very satisfying.

ZigZag rental SCAM DON'T TRUST

Scam company, run out of a dodgy car outside the airport. Give us a prepaid toll rejection agreement to sign, most companies offer you and explain the extras. Here they quickly ask you to sign this form knowing the huge admin fee of 25 dollars every time u use a toll road. Most roads in Miami are tolled so for a 80 cent toll charge this company charges an admin fee of 25 dollars on top each time. I had 350 dollars fee for 3 days driving, no wonder the car hire is so low 3 dollars a day. They know and I accept it was my fault to misread the toll agreement that most people will just sign the forms where they are asked to sign and date. Asking you to sign and date this form without telling you the fines they know you will rack up is appalling and I think it's a disgrace they operate this way .all the good review are written by Russian people as this is a Russian company so they just get friends to write some good reviews. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY SCAM SCAM SCAM. I will be reporting this company to consumer awarenesses bodies and hopefully they are forced to shut down or change their underhabund tactics. A Hickey

AVOID THIS SCAMMY COMPANY

This is honestly the first time I've ever written a review about a business online because I've never felt more disgusted with a company's policies and practices.

To start: I scheduled my reservation for noon and my flight ended up coming in closer to 1. By the time we collected our bags and figured out how to get all the way to their location (2 trains and a shuttle bus later), it was around 2pm. The not-so-friendly guy behind the counter didn't say anything about our arrival time to my face, but when I received my final bill via email a week later, I noticed I was charged $20 for a "late pick-up fee".
Apparently this company thinks it's appropriate to penalize you if you pick up your vehicle more than 60 minutes after your reservation.
I'm sorry, are you not an airport car rental company? Do you honestly never expect people to be delayed because of things beyond their control, i.e. a flight delay? And it's not like this policy was clearly laid out when I was making the reservation, nor did they not know we were arriving late. I did call them several times as we were trying to figure out how to get to their shoddy office. Either way, how can you justify charging people for having the car in their possession for LESS time than they put on their reservation? And then not even have the decency to tell me about this fee to my face when I was picking up or returning the car in person?

The 2nd thing: we were told to avoid tolls by staying out of the left lane on the highways. We did that the whole time, but apparently you still have to pay a toll while driving on some of the highways in Florida. We did not know this. In any case, I expected to have to reimburse the company for the tolls we incurred, and I figured they'd slap us with a fee as well, which is fair. However, I was not prepared for just how absurd it was going to be. Here's the breakdown:
5 tolls: $3.34
Admin fee for the 5 tolls (5 x $25) = $125
That's right. For less than $4 of tolls, they charged me me One Hundred and Twenty Five Dollars.
Obviously I called in and tried to negotiate this, but when you call the front desk, Mr. not-so-friendly plays dumb and tells you that he can't help you and you must contact their customer service team. Sure, transfer me to customer service, I said. Too bad. Their customer service team doesn't have a phone number and can only be contacted via email. After I looked back at my e-bill I figured out why this was the case. They outsource their customer service team to Russia. That also explains why they only answer your emails during the middle of the night. Nevertheless, I tried going back and forth with them via email, but they just kept pointing to the contract which I did sign and did lay out these fees (in small print of course). Nicely done.

The 3rd thing: when you take out the car they charge your card $600 for a "deposit" and then tell you you'll get that back 5-7 business days after you return the car. Guess what? After 7 business days passed I still didn't have my deposit back. Can't say I was surprised at this point. Knowing I'd get nowhere by dealing directly with them, I got my credit card company involved. When I explained the situation to the rep, he was dumbfounded that they went ahead and actually put the charge on the card. Apparently if it's a deposit it's supposed to sit in your temporary authorizations until it gets finalized. Luckily they were able to sort the situation out without any further action needed on my end.

To summarize:
They may have had a lower price upfront than some of the big name car rental companies, but in the end I ended up paying more due to their ridiculous hidden fees. Lesson learned.
Do yourself a favor and pay the bit of a premium to deal with a fair and reputable company that actually knows what customer service means (and has reps that you can actually speak to). And by reading the other review of this company across the internet, it seems like my experience wasn't an anomaly.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

P.S. Think it's a coincidence half of the good reviews on this site for this company are from Russian people? Seems like they're really just paying their customer service team to write fake reviews instead of actually trying to help their customers.
