I purchased the whole A2 level a few months ago and let me tell you it was a great choice. The book is focused mainly in the grammar which makes this course easier to understand and not overwhelming. its great, i tried learning german before and eventually lost interest in learning it i just wanted to maintain what i did know, but later on i gave this a course a shot and really liked it, everything is also very orderly placed and what each lection gives you is bite sized chunks of information rather than force feeding everything. i can not recommend this course enough. i personally use a.i to help me with stuff i may not know and with these two kick ass teachers and a.i, you will learn alot as long as one puts the effort into learning the language! 5/5 stars

Taking your B1.1 has been one of the best decisions I have ever taken to learn something new. The idea of explaining a concept in a family language (English) has helped me to better understand the grammar rules for the German language. I look forward to the next courses being released. Fantastic course that is a really good value compared to established/ better known face to face courses!

As a teacher and professor, I can attest that this course is truly excellent. You can feel the love in the teaching and both instructors really care and are invested in your success. Any questions or comments are responded to very promptly. All of the videos are clear to understand, enjoyable to watch, and well produced. The resources are beautiful and are easy to use and understand. There are worksheets, chapter tests, and even online assessments and everything comes with an answer key. If you’re debating, go for it! I’m glad I did.

My partner is a linguist and German citizen and he also agrees that this course is well done.

I always complete multiple German courses for each level just so I have different approaches to the content. YourGermanTeacher is my favorite because they explain the grammar very well. My only negative is not having more courses on the B1-2 and above readily available. I look forward to more.

Brilliant course with lots of worksheets and different ways of learning with video, writing, listening etc.

I would say if you want to do the course whilst on the move, then it's quite important to have an iPad to be able to write on worksheets, that makes the course so much better.

The only other thing I would say, if you don't have an iPad then make sure you have good access to a printer as you need to print off a lot of pages, and then a folder to keep them in and write on, worth bearing in mind if you learn whilst commuting.

The teachers are brilliant and so helpful. If you have a question about one of the lessons then comment on the video on the website (really easy) and they got back to me usually within 5-10 minutes! So fast!

In short - Great course, iPad best. If not, printer access a must!

I really enjoyed the A1.1 & A1.2 course and believe I learned quite a bit. The structure of the course was great! I've been trying to learn German off and on for over twenty years and this is probably the most valuable experience to date for me. I can't say enough about the two teachers. They are both excellent. I really believe I got my money's worth. I would heartily recommend these two professionals.

I made the best choice in purchasing the bundles A2.1 and A2.2. I had trouble understanding with my teacher online, tried searching for more German teachers in Youtube yet so far none of them sparked my interest and they just made more confused. I never had regrets with these experience with you guys and all the lessons were so precise and gave clarity to my confused mind.

I just finished the A2.1 course and enjoyed it a lot. It is very well structured. The videos are excellent in explaining the grammar clearly.

What sold me on this course was it's great structure. The way the lessons are organized, as well as the tests and progression system make it feel like you're playing a game and constantly leveling up. Each topic in the course books is presented simply and in a concise way, so reviewing even after you finish the course is easy.

Fantastic course. The boys explain things really well and give wonderful tips. I love that they explain everything in English as this is my mother language. Local language schools in Germany do not suit my style of learning as the one I went to (VHS) only spoke German at all times. Therefore I didn't understand what the teacher was explaining. YGT explain things slowly and simply and you can rewind as often as required. Online learning is fantastic. If you had to keep asking the teacher to repeat themself in a real life course, you could be bothering other students that already know the subject.

Covering the topics in such a variety of ways really helped process and retain the material. The situations felt realistic so the vocab felt important and relevant. Their teaching style is expert but approachable, professional but fun. They're responsive to feedback and questions and they're always very kind.

I just finished the YourGermanTeacher A2.2 course. Johannes and Luzi are amazing teachers and explain every aspect of German grammar very clearly. This has helped me learn German more efficiently and thoroughly than in any of the in-person classes I've taken in Berlin. They are also very encouraging and positive in their delivery of the material. I'd also highly recommend the Brainscape flashcards that match the course, as they really helped me learn the vocab for each chapter before I started it. Overall, an easy 5/5 stars!

I am an older American with no prior language experience. I was also a high school science teacher and always performed well in my science courses but I struggled with Deutsch. I now live in Austria but struggle with languages. I have found that this course complements wonderfully with the local Univ of Vienna Sprachzentrum courses. There I get more speaking and writing practice with immediate feedback but here I receive the explanations about why the language works as it does. Luzi and Johannes homework is more thorough than my Uni Wien courses and the ability to retake the course (which I have already done) allowed me to catch things I missed in class and the first time through this. I've completed A1.1, A1.2, and A2.1 courses with YGT, and I'm very satisfied with their course structure. I will definitely continue to learn German with them. I finally understood the basic grammar rules, which had been confusing for me for a long time. I truly appreciate that the YGT team puts a lot of effort into keeping their lessons simple and understandable for their students.

Teachers are vibrant and energetic and always push me to learn more, even if i am not motivated to study. The Kursbuch is well-organized and adopted to Video lessons. Since the course is English taught, they should have decent English levels and pronunciation and yes, they are sufficient in that as well. There are lots of examples and they focus on how to talk in real life scenarios rather than focusing on intricate grammar, at least in the beginning. I have been learning German in the Goethe-Institut but nothing beats Luzi and Johannes' Deutsch course. Explanations are clear and concise and they make it so easy to understand. Can't wait for the B1 course already, thank you so much Luzi and Johannes!
