Best German Learning App
I started using Lingoni about 4 months ago, best choice, the app is clearly structured, simple to use and has so much information.
the Lessons are clear and makes me love learning German even more, the extra Podcast, PDF and exercises are very useful.
If you want to learn German correctly, this app is the best choice!
I really like the live explanations
I really like the live explanations; the trainers are very well-prepared.
This really is THE ONE!
Hi there, i have tried about a dozen different apps both free and paid, as well as starting two German Language Courses at schools, and have not been able to come to grips properly with it in the 4 years i have been in Germany. However, this is the one that is now getting me decent progress, and although it isn't cheap, it is well worth the money.
You can really chart your progress well, and if you don't understand something, you can always replay the problem or lesson until it sinks in.
Also, the girls that take you through the lessons are nice to look at as well, so you don't get tired of their faces, which is pleasant!
I am really loving my Lingoni experience and i have no hesitation in signing up for another 12 months, or recommending it to anyone who wants a good experience in coming to grips with the German language. 😉

I’ve really enjoyed learning with lingoni. The lessons are very useful and the app helps reinforce what we’ve learned in the videos. Lingoni is different from other apps because it feels like I’m learning useful cultural information as well as grammar and vocabulary. I’m a happy customer :)
Thank you!! 👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve been learning with lingoni and I’m absolutely thrilled! The lessons are super structured, easy to understand, and really fun. I especially love the variety of videos and exercises that truly help me improve my speaking and listening skills. Everything feels very well thought out. A big plus is the support team – always friendly, quick to respond, and very helpful. Thanks to lingoni,
I’m making steady progress and stay motivated! Thanks!!!
Lingoni is great
Lingoni on youtube is great, I had an amazing experience watching their videos.
My favorite App!
I’ve been using the Lingoni app for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best language-learning platforms I’ve ever tried. The course-like structure makes learning easy to follow and keeps me motivated. I especially love that everything is organized by the European language levels (A1–B2), so I always know exactly where I stand and what to focus on next.
The combination of videos, podcasts, vocabulary exercises, and practice activities gives a complete learning experience — I get to practice listening, reading, writing, and even speaking all at once. The explanations are clear and practical, making it easy to apply what I learn in real life.
The app’s design is clean and well-organized, so I don’t have to jump between different sites or resources. The milestone tests are also great for tracking progress and moving up to the next level when I’m ready.
I highly recommend Lingoni to anyone serious about learning a new language. It’s professional, effective, and genuinely fun to use!
Downloadable files completely mismatched or encrypted names
I have done both the German and French. While the content is good, I am extraordinarily annoyed the lessons, podcasts, vocabulary available for download are named with file names like "2b5add0d-d88a-403f-89fb-1c1ca53c18c1_Lesson-43-Top-10-Verbs-in-the-Office-B1," or, perhaps worse, the file names, lesson no's, and videos are completely mismatched (i.e., the video might say "Lesson 53," but on the lesson overview, it is actually no. 54; and the file name might say, after the encrypted code is waded through, ".....Lesson 51...". It is interesting to me that if you buy the "lifetime subscription," at 300 euros, all files are available for download, and they are all labeled correctly. The yearly fees are not cheap - having done both French and German for 2 years, that's 400 euros between the two of them. So it isn't inconsequential they put either so little effort at the basics, making it so downloadable materials are useful, or, worse, if so - making it so hard to file manage downloads, people are encouraged to buy the "lifetime access." Either way, I don't think I'll be continuing with them, as I think it shows a certain lack of professionalism.
Edit: Lingoni replies here with: "We understand how important it is for learners to have clear and well-structured resources, and we’ll make sure to forward your comments to our team for consideration. We truly value your input, as it helps us improve our service. "
-yet their reply to me via my e-mail was:
"Thank you very much for your detailed feedback and for sharing your experience with us. I understand your concerns about file labeling.
I’d like to reassure you that our OneDrive folder [this only comes with the "lifetime subscription" of 300 euros per language] is organized with proper file names, making it easy to identify and match the files with the corresponding lessons, podcasts, and videos in the app. If you decide to get full access, you’ll find that the materials are already structured in a clear and logical way, see attached."
-In other words, though I've already paid for 2 languages across two years, I am invited to spend an additional 300 euros (for just one language) just to get the files that should have been available from the start. I'm afraid once again I am wondering why, if they have these files (no "esjoutqoudzaieyua2*93*&@fnay" names, and seemingly if one happens to name "Lesson 23," it actually corresponds to "Lesson 23" and not some other lesson), they are only available to those coughing up an additional 300 euros. Two languages across two years - more than enough to get what they indicate you pay for. Yet this reply. Confirming I will never work with them again. And downgrading from 2 to 1 stars.

I feel so lucky to come across Lingoni
I feel so lucky to come across Lingoni. It has really helped me to undestand how German language work in a short time and gave me confidence to continue working on it!
Lingoni the best German language trainer yet
I have been using Lingoni to study German since its very beginning as "German with Jenny" in 2017. It has been superb and helped my language learning a great deal. The short teaching videos take the learner way beyond mere school German and grammar to "Alltag" colloquial even slang language ability with USEFUL spoken and written skills of real use to the student learning German. The accompanying worksheets use repetition as a teaching method, but not in a boring way. Stage 1 is really fun placing missing words into useful sentences from a list of choices. Stage 2 requires you to translate from English into German using free text which is much more challenging, but if you have watched the video first, it is much easier. Stage 3 requires you to re-order similar sentences correctly which the teachers have deliberately scrambled. This especially trains the learner in grammar and word order. Stage 4 requires you to correct mistakes deliberately set in mock sentences by the teachers. This is not as easy as it sounds. Sometimes the error is spelling, but on other occasions the fault lies in incorrect grammar or word order. This repetition is really effective. What I really like is that the complications of German word order and grammar so hard for the English student to understand is demonstrated automatically. As Lingoni has developed more teachers have joined Jenny's team with equal enthusiasm. I cannot recommend Lingoni as a language learning resource MORE HIGHLY. Thank you to Jenny and her Team
Excellent Learning platform
I wanted to increase my competency in German, from a basic grounding undertaken at secondary school; 15 years ago. I’ve been using a few language Apps which have increased my bank of phrases and enhaced my vocabulary for a variety of situations. But I Found this app bridges my gaps in knowledge where I have been cross referencing language rules with regards to say eg verb conjugations etc…
I have found this app to be very engaging and feels like a one-to-one tutorials much better than virtual tutorials. As this platform gives me the flexibility to manage learning a second language with a busy work life balance. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning German either as new beginner or intermediate learner wanting to advance. 10/10 👍

No option to revise results and not saving progress for exercises
It makes no sense, that the WebApp doesn't save your progress, it only shows an "green check" for every completed lesson or exercise, but you cannot revise the results after, only the first time. And due to this issue, if you are making an exercise and you don't finish it, when you try to continue it later, all the progress for this exercise is not saved and you have to start again. Really annoying!!! This issue is for my german lessons, but since the web app is the same for the rest of languages, I guess that this issue is also for the other languages.

Great learning platform
The lectures are quite practical, full of examples and you see the grammar (not always methodically explained) straight into practice! The paid content adds quite a bit to the free YouTube content, as the exercises and podcast and vocab training are well prepared. The checking algorithm is a bit elementary, as if you forget a point or a capital letter your response in considered wrong, but the overall cost benefit balance is positive. I am happy about my subscription, and I advice it to you. Way to go Jenny and lingoni team. Vielen Dank.

Wanna Become German, Try Lingoni
I'd never known there'd be a source on YouTube to get as close to German as possible and that was Lingoni. It definitely needs more PR. It has to be a must to everyone learning German, irrespective of reason. I will recommend to anyone I come across trying to acquire the language as well.. The workers have to keep up the good work because they most definitely are going places in a couple of years time.
Learning German Made Fun
First of all, I really appreciate all the great content that Lingoni provides for free, which has helped me to improve my German drastically. I've used the platform for more than four months, doing exercises that expanded my knowledge of grammar. Thanks a lot to the Lingoni Team for your relentless work!
Lingoni is the best
This app gives you a very comprehensive knowledge of the German language. Unlike other courses, I find that I tend to remember what I have learnt, it sinks in. Having great teachers like Jenny, also gives you the inspiration to keep going. So all round, an excellent app.
Enthusiastic teachers on clunky old website.
Was a member for one year. Enjoyed videos very much and they dealt with queries quite well. Yet despite this, the site felt old and quite clunky and there is no app available. Fortunately, about 4 weeks before my subscription ended, they updated the site and it seemed much improved although still not what I would call leading edge in appearance and use. Unfortunately, all my progress was lost and when restored a few days later after I contacted them, it was completely wrong. They had also, for some quite unbelievable reason, stopped giving the answers to the exercises for each video, it would only tell you right or wrong so you were not sure what mistake you had made. They told me they were fixing this in the next update but when this would be, nobody seemed to know. They said the answers could be found on the site but this was quite laborious. It all felt very amateurish to me, which was a shame as the videos were great. They extended my subscription by a couple of weeks as there were security log in problems as well. This was generous but I still felt that I had lost 3 or 4 weeks of use. I considered renewing but in the end threw in the towel and went elsewhere. Frantastique by Gymlish is a far superior site although a lot more expensive.

Only if you have lots of time on your hand.
If you have lots of time on your hand, I could recommend their website. If you are are a stay-in father or a housewife with extra time at home everyday, you could cover everything up in a year.
However, if you are in more of a hurry to learn German, for a course, visa application or paper work, I would say lingoni is NOT your best bet. The lecture videos are too long and sometimes they do not cover the grammatical sections comprehensively you will still need to rely on the internet as a source. You will need to spend a lot of time behind the screen in order to catch up, which is not possible if you have other duties or work.
Unfortunately their website has been down for about a month. The first week they said they will fix some issues with a new update and they will be back. They were back briefly and the website is completely gone now. They have also stopped responding to emails the past three week. I still had over two months of subscription left which I don't even know if I will ever get to use or be reimbursed.

High quality pleasant online course
I like the business model of this company and I am very happy to provide a small support with my purchase: many free Youtube videos and a "premium" paid membership, with exercises, podcasts, a structured learning path and a useful pronunciation tool.
The teachers are all very good and the lessons are pleasant and instructive.
So far I tried only the German course, but probably in the future I will try also the other courses.
