Die Freeware XMedia Recode eignet sich, um .mp4-Dateien in sehr, sehr viele andere Videoformate auch für Smartphones, zu konvertieren. Sie kann auch, was für mich sehr wichtig ist, übergroße .mp4-Daten in kleinere .mpeg-Formate konvertieren. So wird aus einer .mp4-Datei, die 1.3 GB groß ist, eine .mpeg-Datei, die noch 700 MB groß ist. Das Programm in seiner portablen Version ist ein Notnagel für mich, wenn AVI TO MPEG sich die Zähne ausbeisst.
Großer Nachteil: Die CPU-Belastung ist ständig bei 90%, wenn XMedia Recode läuft. Den Browser nebenher kann man gerade noch laufen lassen, viel mehr aber nicht und wenn, dann nur im Kriechgang.
Deshalb auch nur drei Sterne.
