My experience at the Sherman Oaks

My experience at the Sherman Oaks, CA, location was extremely disappointing and disheartening. My two daughters and I came in expecting a simple and respectful visit, but instead, we were subjected to what felt like racial profiling and unfair treatment.
We had purchased a high-end MacKenzie-Childs product that unfortunately broke, and we returned to the store solely to exchange it. Instead of receiving assistance, we were treated with suspicion, as if we were attempting to run a scam. The way the situation was handled by management was not only unprofessional but deeply embarrassing, especially as it occurred publicly. No customer should ever feel judged, disrespected, or humiliated while trying to resolve a legitimate issue. This experience left a lasting negative impression on my daughters and me.
Due to this experience, I will not be returning to shop here again.

Concern Regarding Serious Incident at Ala Moana Bloomingdale’s Store

This was a letter I wrote on July 27, 2025 I receive a call, no written reply.

Subject: Concern Regarding Serious Incident at Ala Moana Bloomingdale’s Store

Dear Mr. Bron,
I am writing to express grave concern regarding a disturbing incident that occurred at your
Bloomingdale’s location at the Ala Moana Shopping Center in Honolulu on Saturday, July 12,
2025, at approximately 1:50 p.m.
While visiting the store, my wife needed to use the restroom. We were directed to the facilities
on the third floor. Upon arrival, we found the men’s bathroom and a family restroom, both of
which were occupied. What followed was both troubling and unacceptable: no Bloomingdale’s
employees were present or visible in the bedding or kitchenware departments for over 20
minutes.
While waiting, we observed that the family restroom remained occupied for an extended period.
Eventually, a teenage male, estimated to be about 16 years old, exited the bathroom. About five
minutes later, a younger teenage girl, approximately 14 years old, also exited. The pungent
odor of marijuana was evident, and they had sprayed perfume in an attempt to mask the smell.
It became apparent that the restroom had been used for sexual activity and drug use.
This is deeply concerning, not only because of the inappropriate and illegal behavior taking place
on your premises, but also due to the lack of supervision and visible employee presence in the
area. A secure, family-friendly shopping environment relies on consistent oversight and timely
employee intervention, especially in shared spaces like restrooms.
I believe Bloomingdale’s holds itself to high standards of customer experience and public safety.
I urge your office to thoroughly investigate this incident and review the current security and
monitoring protocols at the Ala Moana location. Preventative measures—such as increased
staff presence near restrooms, surveillance systems, or employee-controlled access to family
restrooms—may be necessary to prevent similar issues in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am hopeful that steps will be taken to ensure the
safety and well-being of all customers at Bloomingdale’s stores.
Sincerely,
Anthony Calleja

Worst service

Worst service. Have ordered three times and every delivery has had items missing which they then refuse to replace (as I’m an international customer). Recently ordered a set - pants and top. Pants arrived but no top. They refunded me the $ for the top but now I’m left with a pair of pants and no matching top (ended up just ordering one direct from their supplier). Would never shop with them again. Cannot be relied upon for accurate order fulfillment or timely customer service.

Terrible customer service!

If you'll be needing to call customer service you won't be able to get it unless you are ready to stay on hold for 72 minutes, and for the Loyalist members 84 minutes. Website is also in trouble, every other time it won't allow you to login, stating that there is a problem on their site. Terrible customer service!

Do not buy from Bloomingdale's.

I don't know what happened to Bloomingdale's, but they are terrible and I expected more from a large box retailer. I ordered well over $1,000 worth of Christmas gifts. One order was shipped and delivered and they canceled all the others for no reason. There was no notice, no call, just an email stating orders were canceled.

I called my credit card company and they confirmed there were no holds or authorization issues and informed me I had to call Bloomingdale's. When I emailed them, they stated it was an issue with my credit card and asked me to call. Surprisingly, I had no issues with my card when I had to re-order all the gifts on Nordstrom. It's clear Bloomingdale's has a sub-par system and subpar customer service. This could've been avoided if someone simply had called me with any issues with the order rather than auto-canceling with out any notice.

I spent hours selecting gifts for family and now presented with the reality that all that time was wasted and I most likely will not have some gifts delivered in time for my family for Christmas. I was a long time devoted customer, but I will never buy from Bloomingdale's again.

I can't find clothes I like here anymore

I recently went to the store to look for fall clothing, particularly dresses. I walked through two floors and didn't see anything I wanted to try on. Most of the clothing was poorly made and from cheap fabrics, like polyester. This was even true of dresses costing $400.
Also, the styles were geared to young women, and too trendy.
It is a shame that flagship store in Manhattan has such poor merchandise except perhaps on the designer floor.

Treated me like a criminal for returning an ugly gift.

I recently went to return an unused gift with no receipt but tags attached. I understood from the get-go that I would probably receive a store credit for the lowest sale price and was fine with that. First, the associate claimed they don't carry the jacket I returned (although the same exact coat was hanging on their wall) then proceeded to take all of my personal info, scan my drivers license and tell me that they would send a merchandise credit in a couple of weeks. Who does this? I didn't appreciate her judgey vibes, nor the fact that we could not use our store credit while conveniently at the store. It was a weird experience all around.

A Hacker's Delight

Oh. My. God. This is the largest group of intellectually challenged, non-english speaking "customer service" reps I have ever encountered. Someone hacked into my account, I saw they ordered something very expensive. It was a Friday night, and I was told they could not cancel the order because 30 minutes had elapsed. They transferred me 5 times, and I had to make 3 phone calls before I could get the order cancelled. I cancelled the account entirely, and as told it would take 3 days. Meanwhile, the hacker was able to open up a credit card and a "Klarna" account in my name. After all the calls, they still would not pull my information from online. This is illegal, and they will be hearing from my attorney (and I do have one).

Bloomingsdale's online experience and Customer care team made me want cry

Avoid doing online shopping on Bloomingdale's.com and if at all possible, NEVER call their customer care team. If they can't answer your questions or get flustered, they hang up on you.

Bit of advice to the @bloomingsdale DTC team - I understand how unverified information on my account during an online transaction will result in a cancellation of an order, but what doesn't make sense is that I can provide that same exact transaction details to a customer care agent and that would go through. This makes no rational sense and feels like a complete waste of time for both your team and consumer. Also, time to have a chat with the team managing customer care - I spoke to 4-5 ppl and half were either not friendly or not helpful.

Honestly the worst customer service in…

Honestly the worst customer service in the world. Purchased a wedding registry gift. Charged my card at the time of purchase. Charged again a month later which was rejected, then cancelled my order. Have been on hold for 57 minutes and counting having gone through 3 different departments. Never ever ever ever ever shop at this disgraceful company.

Body Shaming-Sherman Oaks Westfield Mall

Hi everyone,
Let's start off with this, I would give this zero stars if I could.
This is directed at Arien who works in the Sandro section of Bloomingdales. Body Shaming? Without consequences? The salesman had the audacity to tell a customer that they wouldn't fit in a dress and stretch the fabric. A wonderful representation of what a distasteful and disgusting department looks like, and I would totally recommend coming here if you want to get body shamed and embarrassed. Being assisted by him, I wanted to try on one of the Sandro dresses that I originally owned and knew I FIT into. When I asked Arien to go into the back to get me a bigger size, he came back to tell me that he no longer had this dress. Why? Oh it's because he gave it to another woman who HE identified to be adequate enough to be wearing this dress. Just for your information, the dress I was planning to wear for my birthday. I have always been a loyal customer of Bloomingdales but after this performance I would NEVER come back. If this man still works here just know that Bloomingdales fully condones their employees to tell a customer whether or not they are fit enough to wear one of their dresses. Also yelp is not the end of this and we will be contacting higher possessions to let them know of the disgusting and misogynistic behavior they are allowing at Sherman Oaks Westfield Bloomingdales Mall within the Sandro section. Thanks!

Bloomindale’s sells used beauty products in the middle of virus pandemic

I purchased a $250 bottle of fragrance online from bloomindales. Rolling in love by Kilian. I received an in box return with no plastic seal over the box. The bottle had been used and sprayed and juice was missing out of the bottle. We’re in the middle of a global pandemic and Bloomingdales is selling used beauty products. That’s a health hazard and while im not one to complain about things I’m disgusted by this. I’ll never shop here again.

Repeated online customer

Shopping on Bloomingdale's website has always been easy and their loyalty program is a bonus, since its free and you always get free shipping no matter what. Lately I've noticed the selection of online stuff is improving, I think they're also revamping their image which I'm liking. They offer international shipping through Borderfree, but sadly lots of items are limited to US shipping only. A common problem. Anyways, Bloomingdales always has competitive prices and their online sales are really good! Easy to order and return, I wouldn't hesitate to shop here ever.
