I wish I had more help from wix when it comes to the website. Being a beginner on the internet can be a bit overwhelming and intimidating.

I have used WIX for my gardening company website for 10 years. I find the website building platform intuitive and very easy to use. If I need to make an update I can easily do the work myself. Recently I used AI tools to update our SEO and we are now ranking no.1 in our key geographical areas.
As a political candidate for congress and perhaps the presidency in due course my website must be 100% reliable 100% of the time. Functionality, options and security all must be 100%. Price must be highly competitive too. All campaigns and businesses start with zero and build so a great website and tolls make that possible. I simply would not consider another website company for either my campaigns or my commercial businesses in which we own several.
They locked me out of my business by locking my email when i left them.
Domain was transferred away from Wix contrary to their reply below, however I can’t transfer my email away from them. All locked up so they can extort my business.
The ONLY fix is to pay them $250.

Once you learn how to manage the dashboard I truly believe this site is amazing! Put a bit of hard work into building your site and you will be happy with the results!
Do not give Wix your actual credit card. They operate a legalized billing trap.
Their product is mediocre. Their billing practices are actively hostile. They bury a clause in their terms allowing them to charge your card up to 30 days before your actual renewal date. They claim this is for "uninterrupted service." That is a lie. It is designed solely to trap customers who plan to cancel before their term actually ends.
I cancelled my auto-renewal. Their own system sent me an email confirming it was turned off. Hours later, they bypassed the cancellation and charged my bank anyway.
When you confront them with timestamped proof, their support team reads from a script of deflections. They blame "bank processing delays." They hide behind fake "security protocols" to avoid looking at evidence. They will happily charge a credit card across different linked accounts but refuse to discuss the billing fraud unless you email from the specific account they targeted.
Even leaving their ecosystem is a nightmare. I currently have a domain transfer that I paid for sitting in a "pending" state for four months. They make it deliberately difficult to leave.
If you are forced to use Wix, generate a temporary virtual credit card with a strict limit. They will try to take your money early. They will ignore your cancellations. Build your business on a platform that retains users through a great product. Wix relies on trapping you. Avoid them entirely.

As the husband of a small business owner, I’ve had the opportunity to help build my wife’s dream from the ground up using Wix. Creating the website for Bless Your Bundt was surprisingly smooth, professional, and empowering. Wix gave us the tools to design a beautiful site that truly reflects her brand, story, and passion.
From online ordering to customization and mobile accessibility, the platform made it possible for us to create something that looks polished and professional without needing a huge team or advanced coding skills.
What I appreciate most is that Wix helped turn an idea into something real. Watching customers visit the site, place orders, and support her growing business has been rewarding for our entire family.
I highly recommend Wix to anyone starting a business, building a brand, or helping someone they love pursue a dream. It’s more than a website builder, it’s a platform that helps people bring their vision to life. She is super excited and I am super proud of her.

Clunky site that tries to force you to use its poor AI builder. But what was really bad was their disgusting and atrocious service when they overcharged me. I had transferred the website to another owner who then let the site die, but Wix continued to take monthly payments from my card. When I raised this to them they told me that even though the site is dead, they will not refund any money at all. I complained, they escalated the issue internally and still told me they will not refund me. Steer clear! They do not value their own customers and instead hid behind their own policies, claiming that their policy does not let them provide a refund in this instance! I would give zero stars if I could.

I have been using the wix platform for all my clients as it is easy for them to update calendars etc. Love the independence of mobile editing from desktop to customize. One does have to hunt for the "help" to then request a callback because human help is SUPERIOR to AI bots which never quite offer the solution.
My only real issue with wix is with their billing practice that will double the fee on auto-renewal for three year hosting. You need to possess eagle eyes to catch them ahead of time with a phone call to hustle the "50% off" offer.

Numerous features have the app have stopped working.
I cannot select large amounts of text. I cannot add images to a blog post, as of this week. It is going downhill. FAST. I will be switching to new webhost. Avoid Wix at all costs. There is no customer service anymore.

Wix is an ideal service for creating and building a business without having such an extensive background in web design. I work in marketing, but thanks to Wix’s tools I’ve been able to get my company’s website up and running — functional, professional, and helping me attract clients that turn into sales.

Stay away from Wix.com
It is a scam company because if you want to cancel your subscription, they indirectly make you provide various documents and information. Eventually, you realize that this process is endless.
They also tried to extract other personal info so just be careful. I willdefinitely pursue legal action against them

Wix claims that they can host a website that was created elsewhere. After I paid $174 they said"Unless you built the website with us, you cannot host it. I asked for a refund from a purchase that I made 10 minutes ago and the only options are: Is this a renewal or are you past the 14-day free trial" I am neither, I just made the purchase a few minutes ago so I can't get my money back and here is no phone number. the ChatBot isn't helpful, it just takes you to AI. AI help which is not helpful. Asking for a refund is pretty straight forward. Wix is asking for further details. This is pretty straight forward. I am not sure how much more detail I can provide. Can you just refund te $174 since you cant host my website without using you to create it since it is already created and I dont need a domain, I already have one?

I was a totally new user to Wix. I knew nothing about building my website. It is very easy to learn if you invest a bit of time. Wix has been very supportive with all the features and customer service it provides. I'm happy choosing Wix and recommend it to others for buiding and improving their websites.

Review Body:
PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBSCRIBING. After reading other reviews, I realize I am not alone—many users have shared nearly identical stories of unexpected charges.I am sharing this $432.00 lesson to help other consumers avoid a similar financial situation.
1. Unclear Account Status: The interface displayed a button saying "Enable automatic renewal". Based on this, I reasonably believed my subscription was currently OFF. Instead, I was hit with a massive $432.00 charge.
2. 500% Price Hike Without Active Consent: Wix increased my plan from $79.84 to $432.00—a 500% increase—without my explicit confirmation. A single notification sent to a rarely used mailbox is not enough for a transaction of this magnitude.
3. The "No Refund" Policy: I explained to support that I haven't used Wix for nearly a year and no longer need the service. However, I was still told that according to their Terms of Use, renewal charges are non-refundable. Despite the unclear interface and the huge price jump, they refused to offer any flexibility or a common-sense resolution.
I have officially filed reports with the U.S. FTC (Ref #201358914), BBB, and econsumer.gov. I am now pursuing a bank chargeback.
FINAL ADVICE: Check your settings carefully—their policy is designed to keep your money once it is taken, regardless of the circumstances.

Wix have resolved an issue I had with them. I really appreciate when companies do this because sometimes we don't receive emails informing us of change. Sometimes we think that an expired card won't lead to a subscription renewal. The team took it seriously and resolved the issue for me, and in an economically hard time I really appreciate the resolution made. Thank you WIX.

If you need customer service good luck!
I spent a week after they unauthorized my google workspace during the time period I had paid for through them trying to have them re-authorized it.
Its a pain to get the AI bot to allow you to speak with a human being, only for that human to be sending AI generated response's and being sent down the stereotypical customer support chain. Each time being told the next person will be able to help you out until you're 4 transfers deep, to then be sent to email customer support people.
If you get to the point where they communicate with you though email you will never talk with the same person and not one of them will actually read your messages. Literally spent 4 days sending basically the same email to their customer support because each new person didn't read the email sent or probably any of the notes on the ticket and just sent me the same copy paste questions that I had already answered.
I'll be moving my site from Wix as soon as I'm able.
*Edit* amazing how it takes a public review for this company to all of a sudden want to help. My issue ended with the wix team making it clear with no uncertain terms that I will not be getting customer support from them moving forward. and they want me to giver them personal information for what?? to continue not providing support. No thanks carry that 1 star you earned it!

I had a very disappointing experience with Wix.com. The platform never worked properly for our needs, and customer support was extremely unhelpful throughout the process. The worst part was the billing issue. We received an email indicating the renewal would be charged monthly, yet Wix charged us for the entire annual plan without proper authorization or clear communication. When we requested a refund due to the misleading billing and service issues, they refused to help. Very frustrating experience overall. I would not recommend Wix based on our experience.

have you ever thought, hmm, every thing is just bad about something... well wix brings that thought to reality, i don't know, with time they just make their platform more confusing, more limiting for people who aren't developers and more useless. the mobile responsiveness is something else, you try to change something here only to find something there has been affected.
I'm a web designer and almost all my work has been done with wix, from wix editor to wix harmony, nonsense. simple responsiveness is something to spend hours on without being able to fix.
i feel like cursing now, but i won't, i feel like throwing my pc on the floor right now but i won't, i wish i could rate this platform minus 1 zillion, but i can't, it's the most annoying thing i've ever seen after chatgpt.
i had to come back and edit this, honestly, i thought wix was wonderful too. I'm a web designer and i need my portfolio website looking nice and clean on desktop and mobile, but unfortunately wix can't do that simple thing. and thier ai, it's as useless as thier platform is.

Tried to set it not to autorenew and it autorenewed anyway at an even higher price tag. When I attempted to contact them the AI chatbot they force you to go to first was clearly designed to discourage getting any assistance. Had to research various ways to try to get a person and when I finally got people they said they "understood" why this was frustrating, but oh well, we have your money and there's nothing you can do about it. But here's how to reset it to not autorenew in two years. Predatory practices-- find another provider because this was one of the worst experiences I've had.
Update: Wix has dropped the same cut and paste response to me that they have to everyone else on here who shared their poor experiences with the company. In this cookie cutter response they claim that customer service is important to them "That’s why we've contacted you privately to learn more about the issues you are facing and see what we can do to help."
But here's the thing. They have not contacted me privately in response to this review. Instead of actually contacting me or attempting to rectify the problem, all they have done is posted a completely dishonest public response to try to make it seem like they are interested in customer service. And yet, based on the horrendous experience with this company it is somehow not a surprise to see them come on here and lie.
