On the phone with them for over an hour trying to get one measly Zelle payment we're were trying to make to a service provider to go though. Rejected 4 times - and counting. So-called support jabbering like a monkey, near unintelliligible. Wouldn't listen. Service would have to improve by 10000% just to deserve to be called horrible.

Bank is awful if you don’t have a direct deposit they will charge a monthly fee. Have had them a very long time will find another bank one who will not charge a monthly fee. My account doesn’t deserve to have a monthly fee so it stinks but must be done. Will find another bank

Undependable

I was approved for a 5k credit card. I make ALL my pymts on time and pay much MORE than minimum due. Yet WFB reduced my credit limit to 3k.. I don't want a credit card that I have to check my credit limit limit before I use it to make sure my transaction will go through. Why bother with a credit card that you need to have a back up card with you in case your credit limit is decresed on you. I will be paying this card off and it can sit inan old wallet at home and be useless ...

The title is, Wells Fargo are crooks

I don't even want to give Wells Fargo even 1 star, I just joined Wells Fargo and I just got on SSI because I'm disabled and I signed on Wells Fargo because I thought they were a good bank, SSI put my money in Wells Fargo and they put almost $11,000 in my Wells Fargo account, because I asked them to so I could buy a car, but Wells Fargo isn't thinking the same thing, Wells Fargo doesn't want to give me my money to buy a car, I even had Huntington bank try to take $4,950 out from Wells Fargo, but they declined it, and I called Wells Fargo dozens of times demanding my money, but they do nothing but ignore me, now I have lawyers soon about to handle Wells Fargo, that bank will lose in court, because it's my money and I don't owe them anything, they just don't want to give me my money, so I'm also suing them for more money for all the stress and suffering and depression they've put me through, I don't understand how that pathetic bank thinks they can steal my money, that money came from the government, they need to be shut down and sued

Applied for a Key credit card through Wells Fargo because we were going on a trip and wanted to save a little bit of money and get a discount with credit card. I have a super excellent credit score, low to almost no balances on any of my credit cards.
After reading reviews seems that if you don’t have a bank account with Wells Fargo, you’re most likely not gonna get a card. After this experience I will never ever use Wells Fargo for any loan. After looking at all the reviews, it looks like there are a lot of people not happy with Wells Fargo. Thanks, Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo customers' bank account lacks security

I wish that I can give Wells Fargo a zero star. Someone defrauded my bank account and I have to wait until Well Fargo complete their investigation before the funds are put back in my bank account. I feel that I'm being victimized twice. I thought my money was insured, protected and safe. I was so wrong 😞.

I started my loan with them in 2019

I started my loan with them in 2019, set up automatic payments, and paid every single month consistently through 2026 without missing a beat. Then in 2025, they changed my monthly due date without proper clarity, which led to them adding extra interest charges month after month for an entire year.

When I reached out and asked them to correct it and remove those charges, they refused. No accountability, no real customer support, just short-sighted decisions that clearly show they don’t value long-term customers.

After years of on-time payments, this is how they treat you. Completely unacceptable — and definitely not a bank I would ever recommend or deal with again.

Horrible

Over the years, this company has been constantly doing fraudulent, illegal and nefarious things like creating fake accounts for people. If you look at their track record, they should’ve already been sued into oblivion. They are the only bank that will allow a non-resident alien to get a checking account without a Social Security number or itin because what could be an easier demographic to manipulate and make a fake account for than new immigrant? What a horrible Bank. I hope they go bankrupt.

Don’t use them for anything! EVER!!

Like many others have echoed on this site, don’t do business with Wells Fargo in any form. They don’t seem to mind screwing people over at all. If you go to Better Business Bureau, they have a one star rating there as well, geez what a shock! Oh my God, look at their history. Class action lawsuits, illegally fiddling with customer accounts, paying huge fines when they got caught, it goes on and on. I don’t even need to repeat my sad story with them. There’s plenty of other sad stories here you’ll get the idea. But stick to the main point which is: DONT BANK WITH WELLS FARGO!!!!! I perceive that they are hopelessly bureaucratic and will waste your time and life force energy.

THE WORST BANK FOR BUSINESS!!!!

If you plan to run a business and move serious money, stay far away from Wells Fargo. Their system is a nightmare. Our accounts were frozen multiple times for nothing more than “transaction volume,” and customer service refused to unfreeze them, blaming an “automated process.” I got it unfrozen in person once, and the next day it was frozen again.

Trying to give them advice to prevent future freezes? Forget it. They literally don’t care and have no clue how to fix it. Automated bureaucracy run completely amok.

And their ACH dashboard… it’s like a drunk time traveler vomited the 90s all over your screen.

The funniest part? I thought having millions in the account would make me special. WRONG. They don’t give a damn. Not for you, not for your business, not for anyone. Wells Fargo isn’t just incompetent it’s actively hostile. Avoid them at all costs.

Multiple Business partners and employees were not able to be paid when you froze are accounts. ROT WELLS FARGO.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo, you took five dollars from me due to one low balance when there was a pending deposit and you never even gave me that much money in interest over so many years. I am very annoyed and your fees are too high. You have no way to reverse a fee when you are constantly changing the rules on how much you have to have in each account. As soon as I can, I’m going to move my accounts away. Stop charging fees and limiting the amount that you can waive because you are the one who changes the rules often. My monthly deposits aren’t good for you because they have to be direct deposit so I’ve done that now. Then I had a savings and have to transfer$25 a month from my checking into my savings to avoid a fee. Unfortunately, my balance went under for one day, and you had the opportunity to charge five dollars. Are you trying to help us make money or lose money? This is just getting too complicated.

This bank can't improve..

This bank can't improve... (it has not ever tried)... it has no clue..I have been a realtor in Florida for a long period of time. I have tried to do the "benefit of the doubt thing"with this bank, but they always come up short. They make promises to people, when applying for a mortgage, but no one knows who's working on nor knows what they are doing. How this institution holds on, I guess, is a write off of some kind. This most recent deal I did in real estate, was as clean as it gets. Wells, ordered the survey, we did the inspection, it completed and passed, and knowing everything prior signing on a slight time crunch. Title company told me ,"Title is complete, ready to close", but 4 days away from 30 day contract, no appraisal still. No numbers no nothing. For some reason can't get the numbers" We as realtors and brokers, give business to all the big banks, and we make nothing from them, "period" other than ask them to perform. Good or bad, we accept the outcome. But playing with buyers and sellers, and tagging them along, is completely unacceptable. I will not ever recommend anyone, ever going to this bank for anything. Other big banks also have issues, but things work out. This bank is just pathetic. Don't take my word..See for yourself give them a try...

So Disappointed

Like others, apparently, I am very disappointed with the fees that were taken from my account without my knowledge. I am a long-time account holder at Wells Fargo, so I was expecting a little more correspondence from them. Also, speaking with the same customer service representative is practically impossible. One tells you one thing, and another apologetically tells you something entirely different.

You can really tell a lot by a company when things go wrong cuz when everything is going right it's great but when it's goes wrong you can see the true character. I was scammed out of money from a MCSO scam and they denied my claim basically saying it was my fault cuz I willingly gave money and did not investigate even though I have police reports attorney general reports everything they didn't care

DO NOT open a Wells Fargo account if you're not from the US

I watched my balance slowly drain month after month from fees. Now I have $11 left.
To close my account from abroad, Wells Fargo requires me to fill out a physical form, get it notarized for ~$50, and mail it internationally. In 2026. To close a bank account.
There is no secure email. No digital process. The international phone line never connects you to a real person. The in-app chat just loops you back to the same dead-end phone number. I have an open case number, #8401-469FB, that has gone nowhere for months.
They make it effortless to open an account. They make it nearly impossible to leave one.
If you are an immigrant, an expat, or anyone who does not live permanently in the US: Wells Fargo is not built for you. The moment you leave the country, you become invisible to them. Except for that monthly fee. That one keeps working just fine.
