We complete today on a commercial lease for our new business premises, with Walker Solicitors acting on our behalf, and I have been extremely pleased with the service provided throughout.

A particular mention must go to Vennesa Malinga, who handled the matter with a very high level of professionalism, patience and attention to detail. Commercial lease transactions inevitably involve a lot of moving parts, amendments, correspondence between both sides and last-minute points to resolve, but Vennesa kept everything organised and communicated clearly at every stage.

What I appreciated most was that she was always approachable and responsive. Whenever I had a question or needed clarification on a point, she explained matters in a straightforward and practical way without making things unnecessarily complicated. She also kept me updated as the lease progressed, dealt promptly with the landlord’s solicitors, coordinated the completion figures, source of funds requirements, signing arrangements and completion process, and made sure I knew exactly what was required from me and when.

As completion approached, Vennesa was particularly helpful in making sure everything was lined up properly. She arranged for me to attend the office to sign the documents in person, confirmed the completion funds, dealt with the SDLT documentation and kept the process moving so there were no unnecessary delays. It was also genuinely a pleasure speaking with her throughout the transaction.

I would also like to mention Matthew Easter, who was involved on the legal side of the lease and provided useful advice and guidance on the more technical points and negotiations. Between Matthew and Vennesa, I always felt that the matter was being handled properly and that our interests were being looked after.

Overall, the service from Walker Solicitors was professional, thorough and personable from start to finish. Vennesa in particular is a real credit to the firm, and I would have no hesitation in using Walker Solicitors again or recommending them to other business owners dealing with commercial property matters.
