Stayed at the Wirral hotel for…
Stayed at the Wirral hotel for Christmas while visiting family. Air con cooling system in the room ran on and off for hours overnight (even though it was not switched on) sounded like a cross between an industrial fridge and a coffee machine. Meanwhile, the coffee machine itself didn't work. The tap for the sink was loose and the bath was rusty. Food is overpriced. TV mirroring doesn't work on apple or android. On a positive, soundproofing between rooms generally seemed good and room clean. Based on what else I've seen on here it feels like the brand is taking much better care of profits than guests (and I imagine, their staff). Avoid if you can.
Huge cost for little in return
Customer service is non existent and gym I use is absolutely filthy, borderline health hazard.
Charge a premium price with a sub standard service. There are much better alternatives out there.
Village Farnborough
Had our works Christmas "Experience" at Farnborough on Friday night and apart from the cold food and the Turkey, that resembled something that Amazon would use to package your parcel with, it was an extremely good experience. The Alcohol was flowing like reservoir in a Monsoon. The custom DJ that no one could understand and people dancing like they had only one night left to live.
Big thanks to Megan on the Bar that was attentive and patient with us.

Stayed over here recently with my partner for a function. Usual Village Hotel with all amenities but what stood out was the cleanliness of the place. Yes some areas were tired beyond a calean but both the public area and room we stayed in were spotless. Credit to the HK Team.
Awful experience do not recommend
Building and location is fine but this is end positive aspects of the Village Hotel (South Leeds).
Unhelpful Staff, don't bother to contact them via email as they do not reply to emails. To sort uot my issue I asked for contact number -staff gave me stationary number to Starbucks. Food was below average which is not worth spent there money.
Hotel staff are obnoxious and racist
I attended the hotel in bury for a business meeting. Overall, the hotel offers ample parking, excellent facilities, and a stylish, well-presented environment. Lunch was provided during the day, along with snacks and drinks, which was appreciated.
However, I experienced an appalling interaction with a member of the hotel’s cleaning staff. The behaviour was hostile, racist, and entirely unacceptable. This incident was reported to a staff member, as no individual should ever be insulted or mistreated because of their appearance or skin colour—particularly by hotel staff.
Such conduct should not be tolerated under any circumstances. I strongly recommend that the hotel provide improved training and support for staff to help prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
Reading Gym Full of Thieves
Reading Gym Full of Thieves!
This was my first day at the Reading Village Health and Wellness club. My phone and belongings were stolen and Robert the General Manger was absolutely useless. He didn't know or understand the insurance details. He did not know how to check the CCTV and de did not even know how to get past the barriers to check the changing rooms.
Christmas party ripoff
Where to start on arrival function room was freezing meal was the size of a starter for £42 I would have expected more also draught Guinness was room temperature and was being charged a premium rate (expensive).Dj didn't start playing songs until nearly 9pm. Overall very very disappointed ☹️.
Disappointing
On the 10/12/2025 at 1pm to 4pm I booked an event room for a wake and booked it for 30 people to be safe at £21 pp at a total cost of £630 and only 18 people attended.
The problem i have is the amount of food was no where near enough for the 18 people that shown never mind the 30 I booked for breacing my agreement, I was asked by email why I never made anyone aware of the situation and the only person that was there was a bartender.
There was no cutlery and also lipstick marks on glasses that were clearly used, it was just a disappointment and very poorly organised event by the staff at the village and a sad way for my family to spend the rest of our day after the nature of our visit.

As Poor Of a Customer Service As You Can't Get
Been a member here for 10 years. I refused to pay my monthly membership when they decided to refurb the gym in the middle of October rather than over the Xmas break. The temp gym they set us is quite frankly unusable and since they've allowed everyone south of Liverpool to join in recent days, you can't stand in there let alone workout. I then complained and I got a generated response from a useless team member. Next thing I know, enforcement agents. Not an email, not a repose to my query - just simply ignored and agents emailed me. You also can't speak to a human, the line just rings. Nothing short of a disgrace - lets not even mention the broken equipment that is left out of order for months at a time
Very Disappointed
Village Hotel Bournemouth,I pay over £600 a year gym membership, you can never get parked there due to people attending the hospital and building works that are going on at the hospital, They should switch back to when the hotel had car registration numbers for members and guest.
Also I have learnt that the Hotel is used for asylum seekers that are allowed to use the gym and pool facilities, When my membership is up for renewal I won't be renewing it.
False Black Friday advertising
Misleading advertising for Black Friday deal, offering special prices but when you go to place booking it has a countdown timer to tell you to book in 3 hours yet they don’t give you the offer , I contacted customer services and they spoke to me like I was an idiot and no apology for their false advertising to reel you in to their site .
Village - Aston limited customer service
They have a can we fix it option for guests, however it only offers limited options, no free text. Then you get an option to contact your hotel, but that is a bot and no option for something else or to speak to someone. My room is a new room, the door doesn’t lock! The bathroom light switch only turns off one of the lights. Not helpful to not be able to talk to someone.
Great customer service
Great customer service, lovely staff, very welcoming. Rooms are very clean and comfy. Will be staying again. Thanks 🤩
Impressed with room
I stayed over night and the room was very nice and clean,The staff were very happy to help with anything We needed
Wouldn’t stay again.
Stayed at the Watford location and was charged £15 early check in fee even though my room was not ready until around 15:15. Normal check in was 15:00. Told to wait in the restaurant area while my room was being finished. Now I’m being fobbed off and they are not refunding my money. Reception also rude and dismissive.
Mr Doyle racist manager at Dudley branch
I went to stay at the dudley branch MR DOYLE one of the managers seems to have a pattern of targeting black women and people and wrongly calling the police on them this man should not be working for this establishment if they are not doing there jobs properly and making the lives of black visitors this msn lied and even the police know about his lies now will be taking legal action to sue this racist man and the establishment he works for i just don’t know how such racist scum are given such position
What a shambles of a company
What a shambles of a company.
I had booked a room and could not travel due to snow. I asked if the booking could be moved to the following as the event I was attending had been moved.
Not a bit of help. They stand behind T&C’s.
Extremely poor customer service. Do not book with this company.
NEVER AGAIN
NEVER, NEVER stay here...Portsmouth. went to first room and toilet was filthy. Changed to next room....the same. 3rd floor...kept awake by banging music until 11.30pm then again from 5.30am.
Wish I could put the photos I took on. Room heater fan filthy filter. Wardrobe was a bar sticking out 2 feet from wall. Nowhere for clothes. Staff not bothered. It's not a hotel it's a gym with rooms. No privacy as bathroom wall is glass. Don't waste your money here
