Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I was offered an appointment within an hour of phoning up on a Sunday morning and my dog was seen promptly.
Friendly staff and the vet was lovely.
Just expensive!

Exceptional emergency care for our dog who had become acutely unwell. We were given regular updates on his condition. He was treated quickly and appropriately during his stay and then handed over to his own vet.

Hopeless.
Our pet developed breathing problems on Good Friday bank holiday. Out own vets office directed us to the "Vets Now" out of hours service.
We attempted to contact Vets Now in Worcester as their web page showed them as being open with the message "If you’re worried about your pet, don’t hesitate to call us. We’re open right now, even if it’s a bank holiday"
The phone answering service informed us they were closed, however upon contacting the Cheltenham Vets Now we were informed Worcester were indeed open, but having "I.T and phone problems".
We drove to Worcester at 2.am to find the premises well-lit, but deserted. A note on the locked doors gave another number to call to gain access.......which then informed you that they were closed. Another notice said "ring the bell if the doors are locked".........no bell anywhere on the doors.
Don't waste your time. Clearly an organisation where the left hand has no idea what the right one is doing.

I was made welcome and you dealt with my poorly dog more or less straight away. You gave him an anti sickness injection and supplied Pro-Kolin for me to administer. All was fine except the cost was extortionate.

I recently had to find an emergency vet, after calling my own insurance vet ( nurse) who advised me to find a local out of hours vet.
I found vets now from a Google search, so for this 2 minute call to vets now I was charged £336.00, this was just to find a vet that was open.
How does this company justify this amount in order for information to locate a vet?
I appears to me they are nothing more than a cartel, and pet insurance companies should question these charges.

Kind , compassionate vet looked after our pet very well . Thank you. ........but the after hours vet fees really are extortionate. more than 4 times the price of the visit to our own vet the following day. The out of hours visit had to be done as our old boy 🐶was in severe pain.

V fast, v friendly and the vet was brilliant with a large strong dog

We were able to see a vet almost straight away and our cat was well looked after. The vet did her best to keep the cost down but at just over 1k for a consultation, overnight stay, fluids, antibiotics and painkillers, I cant imagine the dilemma that people less fortunate might have to face. Animals left to die, abandoned in the hope someone will find them and get them treated, or needlessly destroyed must all be an awful reality for owners and they pets.

Ease of contact and availability were good . Wait time was ok for a Sunday afternoon . The value for money was astonishing . £600 for a quick check and a few tablets then back to own vet first thing the following day .

Excellent service as my partner’s Toy Poodle Daisy had a sudden but highly concerning issue. Kind and friendly staff - the operator before hand was clear and patient as we were distressed.

I would recommend VetsNow. My young Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniel received out of hours treatment for a stomach problem. Contacting VetsNow was simple and the surgery easy to find. The staff were kind, professional and reassuring and my little dog received prompt and effective treatment.
