Having taken invoice insurance effectively, Vertex reneged on the contract despite having worked through them before.
Having always had a good rapport with agents at Vertex, and having worked with them on two occasions, when I wanted to work with a company but wanted invoice insurance, the agent I was dealing with, said they would provide that service.
When I realised that companies weren't being paid by my new employer, I kept my agent appraised.
Eventually I was pulled out by the agent, and then I realised that Vertex had witheld monies owed - about £18K from memory.
I had a dialogue with the MD, and was told clearly that my contract didn't cover me, but he would compromise and pay me about £10K.
I took legal action, and recovered my monies, but was out of pocket by about £1000.
As I viewed this as an irritation, I contacted the MD and suggested we continue to work together so we could both recoup the monies we had lost. His response was that had I argued more, he would have paid up, which I felt was wrong considering I shouldn't have had to argue at all for money that was legally mine.
Therefore, I wouldn't trust Vertex again. A great shame.
