The bank has hard rules to determine…

The bank has hard rules to determine whether or not your account will occur matienence fees. I called because I am trying to close my account after dealing with the constant nickel-and-diming to use my money, but they could not tell me if I would incur fees. On the phone, I pulled up the criteria (500+ qualifying deposit, more than so much money in your account, etc.) and read it off to the person. They still couldn't tell me. The icing on the cake is they won't let me cancel the account because even though everything has been cleared on the recieving banks end, Truist is claiming it's still pending. They gave a timeframe that conveniently aligns with the day my account cycle rolls over. They have to get that last 12 dollars of fees from me before I leave and never come back.

Truist is the worst bank I have ever dealt with

Truist is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I tried to get my credit card limit raised because I charge everything and pay it off every statement and they said they would need to have a full three bureau credit check and an application and they would let me know. Ridiculous when they could plainly see that I have an excellent credit score and pay them in full each month. Also, had a HELOC which I had a zero balance and when selling my house I needed this account closed and verification of a zero balance. They said that it could take up to three weeks to show the account as closed and when I asked for a letter so that I could close they refused to even do that. I could cite other problems as well but you get the message. I have moved on to another bank and I will very fortunately close my Truist account very soon

Do your business elsewhere

Do your business elsewhere! Truist is so outdated! Horrible—it should not be allowed to operate as a bank. With such poor customer service, they all need to go back into the office so their customers can get things done! COVID is over! Everyone is doing everything, but people can't go back to the office, at the customer's expense of "not being able to get things done"! Fact: Truist commercial business lines of credit can only be made on the phone, with a Truist representative, during regular business hours, or by going into a branch. Are we in the 1960s? Are you serious? You cannot pay online or by mobile app. I am finally done with Truist. My 2026 resolution is to pay off Truist and run, never look back, and never, ever think of Truist again! To make things worse, I was on the phone with their 8 representatives for over 2 hours before I found out. They will waste your time!

Truist Bank - The bank who honors thieves not patrons

I have been scammed on my Truist bank account numerous times. I filed a new claim due to a travel agency processing a 1-way request as a round-trip on the wrong date. Today Jolina said they can’t authorize the request due to “excessive fraudulent claims”. If you were a REAL bank; there wouldn’t be excessive fraudulent transactions happening on my account.

Don't walk, run from this lender!

This is the worst lending company you could possibly deal with—avoid them at all costs; don't just walk away, run. Their website's user interface is utterly abysmal and poorly designed. I've set up autopay multiple times, only for them to cancel it without explanation, leading to unnecessary late fees. Customer service is equally unhelpful.

I have been banking with Truist for…

I have been banking with Truist for over 20 years, and I deposited a sizable cashier's check yesterday from another bank, and they put a hold on it for 7 days. In today's world they must know that the check is good in less than 24 hours. I mean, what is technology for? I think it is called "float", and I'm pretty sure if I do it it's illegal. Just sayin. Very disappointed.

I wouldn’t give this company a star at…

I wouldn’t give this company a star at all if that were an option, which it should be an option to give zero stars. My vehicle loan was sold to Truist and the very FIRST month the issues began. I’ve ALWAYS been at least a month or more ahead on my payment through the company I had before Truist. My payments were also set up through my bank. Did the same thing when I found out Truist was now the company with my loan, set up payments from my bank to pay. 3 payments go out and before they were due, and all 3 payments were supposedly floating around somewhere and they didn’t receive them. Everytime we called to see if the payments reached them, they said no, no documentation from any of our calls were on the screen for the next person to see or read, that we’ve been calling to get the checks tracked down that our bank themselves sends out for the payments. We’d even give the name of the person, the date and time we called and nothing was listed we called previous times. If the calls are recorded they should have the notes from those calls. We had from our bank the proof and gave Truist the proof the payments were sent but they still said I was late on 3 months of payments and reported that to my credit report. One of the days we called to get a pay off balance to make sure it was inline with our figures, since they also said they didn’t receive 3 payments, all of a sudden they said they received 1 of the 3 payments our bank sent and received the funds from the bank. My husband and me were so frustrated with this company and their incompetence we paid to have the 2 checks cancelled they said they still did not have and then paid the vehicle off just so we didn’t have to deal with the stress this company creates. Confirmation number in hand, proof the money was paid and was deducted from the bank account paying the vehicle off, a week later we still get phone calls at least once if not twice a day that payments are due and action is required. Called Truist this morning and were told sorry we can’t fix any of that for you you’ll have to go to Truist online page and file a complaint for the calls still coming in and the credit report to be fixed. Truist you are a joke for a company that deals with the loans department area. You are of no help and you create stress when customers call and each and every person we talked to that is answering the phone for your company doesn’t see any notes from previous phone calls made, proof of payments made and you don’t help figure things out you just immediately report to the credit bureau, and still having issues after payoff was made and funds were received to you. Companies selling loans to Truist need to rethink that, especially if they are aware of how they treat their new and or existing customers. Anyone looking into getting a loan with Truist, I would not do that. We didn’t have a choice when our loan was sold to them, but if I did I wouldn’t take the loan. I’m going through major health issues, breast cancer along with bone issues and I definitely did not need this stress from their company added to my plate. It’s also not simple to just pay off a lump of savings you need that’s helping keep you a float with everything I have going on. But the stress this company created was just to much for me. I didn’t want to worry I was going to wake up one day, walk outside to get in my vehicle for a dr appointment and not be able to go because my vehicle was repossessed. Which if that would have happened I would think twice and I would have hired an atty right away to deal with them since we had proof all 3 payments and then finally a payoff was made. Moral of this is just be aware and go somewhere else if you’re able for a loan.

I would give this place 0 stars if I…

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The only reason I am stuck dealing with them is because they have my mortgage loan. I would bankrupt my entire family to no longer have to deal with them. I have never gotten anything done with customer service in under 2 hours. I wouldn’t need customer service if they didn’t continuously deactivate my online account.

If I could give NO stars that’s what it…

If I could give NO stars that’s what it would be. Truist bank is fraudulent and has a hold on my money that nobody could explain. We was told that this issue workout be resolved 1/9 were now being told that an off shore analyst looked at it on the 9th and has transferred it to a on shore analyst we look into it when they feel like it. They didn’t provide us with any definites . Not to mention we’ve been lied to by several different fraud supervisors and told we don’t know why with bank managers. I just watch a news clip where this has happened to so many other customers at Truist. Who can we call and what can be done. This is ridiculous and inhumane.

Truist bank is not customer oriented

Truist bank is not customer oriented. I went to a local Truist bank attempting to exchange $30 US currency for $30 US coinage. I was told by the teller and management that unless I was a Truist customer they would not make the exchange. I was not trying to make a deposit, make a withdrawal, I was simply trying to exchange currency for equal coinage. I will advise to seek banking opportunities elsewhere.

No active ATM over holiday period

There is only one Truist ATM within 8 miles of our town. The ATM at the local bank was out of service from 12/24/25 through 12/29/25. Obviously this is challenging period for accessing cash and between two holidays and a weekend, we could not access the tellers either. Each transaction cost me an additional $5 to $6 until the bank reopened Monday AM. Horrible accessibility.

Worst Customer Service Ever

After 10-15mins of pushing buttons and making statements to a voice system trying to get through to the Business department, I get through to someone after another 5mins of wasted time verifying the same information I entered they advise they are not in the business department. I then get transferred again. To the business department finally, whom has to re-verify me. This individual as rude as can be then states that they cannot verify me because my online banking username is incorrect - the exact name I just entered to access my account in order to find all the information they needed. These arrogant person then advises I can go to the branch to get my questions sorted. After asking to speak to a Supervisor, the person was arrogant enough to put me on hold and do nothing about it. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.

UNACCEPTABLE SERVICE

I am new to NC and fairly new with Truist Bank, the branch manager opened my boy's accounts he was pleasant and fast! Everyone was so delightful BUT when the branch manager is not present them tellers are rude as hell!! Especially the teller with blonde hair and the young brunette gal she seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. So I went in to put a stop to my debit card on December 26, 2025 and have a new card ordered. I simply asked to have it expedited because I NEED my card! The young girl seemed like she didn't know what to do so she asked another teller with blonde hair who was rude!! So anyway I was told there is a charge of 7.95 to have card expedited.... wow but okay! Well I never received my card in that 3 day's I was told! I called the bank and was told it was never expedited and this was January 5th!!!! Teller stated it was just shipped today.... What?!?!?! So today January 8, 2026 I received an email that my card will arrive January 13, 2026!!!! This is unacceptable!!!! Because I don't have my card all my streaming subscriptions, my online shopping subscriptions have been stopped!!!! AND I HAD MY CREDIT CARD ON AN AUTOMATIC PAYMENT..... THAT WASN'T PAID ON TIME BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MY NEW CARD!!!!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

Truist's Mistake Overdrew My Account and it Took FOREVER For Them to Fix it.

On 12/19, I scheduled a sizable transfer payment from my personal checking account to pay one of my Truist CCs. I then realized the date was wrong, so I rescheduled the debit/payment. I called and spoke with a Truist CSR the next morning to cancel that first transfer. After about an hour, I was assured it had been canceled. To confirm, I asked several times - are you sure this is canceled? The CSR assured me that it was. A week later, I discovered that Truist had if fact withdrawn both drafts anyway, which caused my checking account to be significantly overdrawn! After spending over an hour and a half on the phone with two "CSR" folks who could barely speak English, they did absolutely NOTHING for me! A total WASTE OF TIME. I went into my local branch on the next day on 12/30. The lady there was very nice, but it took her OVER AN HOUR to resolve this. I was told that it was escalated so that the funds would be credited back to my checking account in ONE TO TWO DAYS. Well, it took a WEEK! I also incurred numerous NSF charges, which require separate CSR encounters. Unbelievable. This TRUIST MISTAKE cost me almost four hours in total. I've been a customer for 44 years this month, going back to the old Trust Company days. If I didn’t have so many tendrils with my accounts at Truist, I would leave them in a HEARTBEAT. Truist is beyond freaking horrible. I detest them. If I could give Truist negative stars by powers of ten, I would.

I wish there was an option for no stars. Worst bank ever. Customer service is horrible. Why do I need to wait 2-3 days for yall error before I can access my own funds??? That’s some non sense. Not even a week with yall and am already over it. Taking my business elsewhere.
