Very pleased with our new sofa, exceeds expectation! Online ordering was straightforward and the description and photos are very accurate. Build quality seems to be superior to other sofas I looked at from well-known highstreet stores. Overall very pleased with my purchase.

The 'love-bed' sofa bed we purchased is of a very high quality. The leather is perfect; soft but also scratch resistant. It's a great addition to our home. It's a beautiful and practical piece of furniture. Communication was also good from start to finish with regular updates on email. Delivery was also arranged quickly and efficiently. A good experience all round.

Luke and Richard did a great job delivering the sofa. On time, friendly, got everything unpacked and took away packaging. Sofa is great. Cheers

My experience with this company was neither terrible nor great. The salesperson was very responsive at the beginning, but once I placed my order and paid in full, communication became minimal. I didn’t receive the mid‑production update that was advertised, and I wasn’t informed about delays that ultimately pushed the delivery back by three weeks. I only received updates when I contacted them myself.
When the sofa finally arrived, it came fully assembled, which I hadn’t expected since I had paid for a “2‑man home delivery and assembly” service. Unfortunately, the sofa didn’t fit through the entrance door, and no alternative solution was offered, so I had to request a refund. To their credit, the refund was processed quickly.
While I recognise that the door‑size issue was partly due to my inexperience, every other sofa company I contacted proactively asked about access measurements. I hope this company considers adding a clear note or warning on their product pages so that customers who are new to this process can avoid similar disappointment.

Just taken delivery of my samples, super quick and easy to order. Along with the brochure they sent I now can’t wait to place my order as soon as the house purchase is completed. The samples gave me a great indication and feel to the fabric that I intend to use. Thank you.

Just received sofa chair and foot stool, contacted customer service about one of the back cushion keep falling down as it's not snug fit in the arm rest like the other one sent photos as it is a four inch gap but got no were with this problem, the said the could not see it in the photo,I paid over 3,000, might not be a lot of money to them but it is to me , will not buy from them again, they are not interested in you problem.

Luke and Richard did an amazing job delivering the sofa, it was a tight fit but they coped amazingly.

had such a great experience with Old English Sofa Company. The team are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly very experienced, which made the whole process feel easy and stress‑free. They were genuinely helpful, answered everything with confidence, and guided me towards exactly what I needed. The quality of their sofas and their customer care really stand out. I’m delighted with my choice and would happily recommend them to anyone.

The sofa is finally OK but their customer service is appalling. The sofa was ordered and paid for online on 13 November but they didn't bother to sending any email acknowledgment until the following day.
Sofa was delivered 16 January by 2 nice guys but the front casters didn't fit so they put the travel feet back on leaving me with a very low sofa. They took photos and said they'd advice English Sofa but I heard nothing from them.
I emailed 18 January for an update - no reply
I left it a few weeks then phoned . Told they had ordered the replacement legs which would be sent to me. I told them that I needed someone to come and fit them as I'm far too old to be able to do it myself. They said someone would be sent which I took to mean they'd come with the legs.
The legs arrived by courier 11 February - no man to fit them so got a neighbour to do it. The caster legs didn't screw in - something was blocking them. I phoned the company and they said another company would contact me to arrange to come and fit them. They don't bother arranging that until the legs have been delivered. I did tell them that the sofa was too low for me without legs and with old arthritic knees it is quite painful to get up from it so I hoped they would get it sorted quickly.
Then got a call from another company and the earliest they could come was 9 March so another 4 week wait. I emailed English sofa to complain about the time it was taking and asking them to confirm that the person coming could make structural repairs but they didn't bother replying.
A nice man came 9 March and it seems that the caster legs didn't screw in as the sofa frame was blocking them!!! He had to cut about 2/3 of the screw off to fit them.
I now finally have a sofa the right height for me and it's only taken 7 weeks to sort it. No communication from the company at all and certainly no apology for their manufacturing error, the inconvenience caused and the pain to my poor old knees.

Ordered an Art Deco sofa bed. On arrival all looked beautiful and really pleased. A few weeks after, tried the bed and found a mechanical issue due to poor manufacturing. That's when the issue started.
ESC advised that as it was 6 weeks since delivery they would only replace the bed section at a cost to me of £250 and offered £100 as a good will gesture.
The sales manager clearly had better engineering qualifications than me as they were 100% that this could never happen.
After paying for an independent assessment they finally replaced the unit.
Result, still incurred cost to me for the survey, lost all faith in the company and would no longer recommend them.

I would like to thank everybody at The English Sofa Company for my new leather sofa it is very comfy and beautifully made the leather is so soft with a lovely finish.
It looks fabulous in my home and I am very happy with my purchase 😊
