I have just had my accounts closed by Francoise Macoy! What a fantastic job she did for us! Frankie communicated well at every step and gave me every opportunity to check over the figures and documents. Frankie would answer any queries I had and signposted to where I needed to go for further information. Really happy with the level of service received 😀

I honestly cannot overstate how much worse off the accountancy partnership left me.

Some of the highlights of the service I have paid for include:
Corporation tax return submitted late.
Tax code mistakes.
Allowable expenses mistakes.
Authorisation mistakes.
Self assessment mistakes leading to rejection and penalty.
Self assessments not submitted at all!

I received no notice of the failure to submit for years, naively trusting that my accounts were being correctly handled by my accountants - resulting in thousands of pounds in penalties and interest.

You'd think they would be falling over themselves to remedy the situation they created. But they absolutely could not care less, and wouldn't even assist with appealing the penalties.

I can't even calculate the hours I have sunk into unravelling the mess they left me in. Countless hours wasted, left in a much worse financial situation than if I'd just taken a swing at it myself, and immeasurable stress.

I have still never received an apology.

Despite requesting they take no further action on my behalf, they are still requesting authorisation from HMRC months later. The best I can hope for at this stage is that they stop continuing to make things worse.

Don't risk it.

If your accounts are too important or complex to handle yourself, then they're definitely too important or complex to entrust to TAP.

Edit to add: The company's canned response is an outright lie. Nobody has contacted me since leaving this review.

If your business doesn't grow or have any actual requirements then sure, you may want to go with TAP but if you plan on making money, being kept aware of anything whatsoever that may effect your business, reasonable response times (instead of repeatedly running into "so and so is out of office") and helpful tax efficiency advice I would avoid this company at all costs.

What you are sold is not what is delivered. There are also costs that add up which, to be fair, do make sense, but are never made clear on that initial sales call.

The more your business grows the more stressful TAP becomes. They offer no assistance to questions outside of sending you to complicated articles on the HMRC website (which, you know, could be helpful if you were already an accountant and or didn't know how Google worked) and sometimes don't even get back to you.

They also provide tax efficiency advice in retrospect. Which means, if you're growing, you'll be absolutely rinsed by the tax man and then informed after the fact "oh if you did this could have avoided some of that".

I had the great experience of also suffering with their bookkeeping services. Which, with my case, was either inaccurate or not even reviewed by my accountant. But who cares, another £1300 - 1400 invoice for TAP.

Do yourself a favour - find a local accountant or an accountant who is a bit more expensive each month that you can trust. These lot are a burden for businesses for best and a loss of money at worst.

Special thanks to Jessica in the customer service team who said to the extent, sorry, not our fault, but we'll be happy to keep working with you. Absolute jokers.

Please read their cancellation policy too - they don't do refunds even when they don't do any work. And let me tell you, they don't do any work so you may as well just burn your money.

Edit - they also claim in their reply they'd reached out again to resolve the issues. That was a lie. Not that I expected much different.

Switched from a rival and the experience has been faultless from start to finish for half the price. My account Ben has been excellent.
