Unprofessional and unreliable

Avoid them they are the worst network… the phone never works abroad no matter where you are I called them and all they had to say is we do not guarantee network coverage abroad. Now I travel pretty much twice a month so there is no point of me having a Tesco phone

Absolutely would NOT recommend

Wanted to switch to vodafone and keep the same number. Cheeky little … changed my e-mail address on Tesco Mobile app and said to vodafone that I’m on a bill pay (which is a complete lie, I’m on top-up), and that my information doesn’t match.

I went straight to the Tesco Mobile app to check my information and THEY CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS! Went to my mailbox to double check I typed in the right email address and there it is - REGISTRATION email.

Also, their plans are terrible.

Top Up rip off.

Tesco mobile offer a 15euro top up for 5 euro in clubcard vouchers. They promise to give back the change to your clubcard account, eg a 6 euro voucher used to buy a top up should result in 1 euro change. They are keeping the change instead of returning it to the customer. Three phone calls to their help line has failed to fix this. They told me in was an IT problem and would take a number of days to fix and that they would call me back. They gave me a reference number for the case and put my name on the clubcard account so that I would not have to call my wife to the phone for permission for them to discuss it with me. They never called me back. Months later I phoned them. They knew nothing about it. It was as though the earlier conversation had never occurred. Tesco haven't a shred of integrity.

DO NOT DO IT

DO NOT DO IT

I ordered a prepaid SIM card for 10 EURO. And then the problems began.

The card didn't arrive. Customer service via email couldn't help, the chat didn't work. After a very long phone call I was told they couldn't just send a new card.

After further discussions they were ready to send one. It arrived at some point, but couldn't be activated.

More emails and then conversations with support. Nobody was able to activate this card.

So I canceled the order.

Shortly afterwards 15 euros were debited. For a 10 euro prepay plan.

And then another 10 euros. The support only gives excuses, I feel really ripped off. Never again with this company!

Avoid the 14 day return scam

Got a 35 quid plan and was told you can return the phone within 14 days if you change your mind.I changed my mind and returned the phone however they wouldn't except it back as the phone has a small mark on it and a part of the SIM insert had something wrong with it so was told I had to keep the phone because of this .What do you expect after 14 days you'd be no excepting it back for finger prints on the screen next ! Wasn't told about this when I got the phone very disappointed and wouldn't recommend changing your mind and returning the phone and absolute scam so beware won't be going back to Tesco mobile anytime soon they have the phone and didn't get the cost of the phone back either SHOCKING

Excellent customer service

Excellent customer service. I phoned Tesco Mobile regarding an issue I was having with mobile internet. It was very easy to get the call directed to where it needed to go. The person I spoke to (Elliot) gave absolutely perfect instructions re: how to resolve my issue. He was really clear and concise, and really made sure I understood what needed to be done. I followed the steps and everything worked perfectly afterwards. Perfect, efficient service.

Tesco's Mobile Cancellation process is so poorly explained, that is close to a scam

I had a full year with an account with Tesco Mobile. I always had multiple problems that I simply did not have with other phone providers. The only thing that made the whole situation relatively acceptable was the fact that their chat support was relatively acceptable and relatively good at fixing the issues. The experience was definitely not issue-free, but it was relatively easy and quick to solve.

This situation changed when I wanted to cancel my phone number...

I moved out of Ireland, so, therefore, I did not want to keep my Irish phone number for long. So I talked to Tesco Mobile a bit in advance explaining that I wanted to cancel the phone number by the end of December. They stated that they could not cancel the account later in the year. What I should do is either cancel at the beginning of the month or contact them on the day that I want to cancel. In the conversation, they heavily insinuated that the account would be canceled at the moment.

So I did that... and they then went back on what they said, and stated that I had to pay for the full month, even though I tried to cancel very early at the beginning of the month. Strangely, they never charged me, but so I thought. A few days ago, my last address in Ireland received a bill for December, extra Roaming charges (when my plan had a mobile data plan for the EU, that I did not pass), and for January (when I literally could not even use the mobile plan anymore)...

Not only Tesco Mobile was unclear and vague with their cancellation policy, but they actively lied to me, later charging for a month when they said they would not. What is funny about this is that I canceled the debit card that I was using for payments after the date they usually charged me, so the payment did not go through, and they provided me with no other way of making the payment.

TLDR: I had multiple problems with Tesco, but they were usually very solvable. This all changed when I canceled the plan. Their messaging was unclear and misleading, making me have the contract canceled later than I originally wanted. In the end, they even charged me for an extra month when I could not even use the phone plan and for roaming that I did not use.

PAYG top up Voucher SCAM warning

If you have a PAYG top up Voucher the small print on the voucher states " Expires 12 months after purchase date" There is no other mention what to do. Getting a lot of conflicting feedback dialling4455 some saying go back to the store you purchased it from and others state its "NOT REFUNDABLE" I challenged this with TESCO HO "I exchanged a £20 note for that voucher that would have been refunded on day 364 but then on day 366 you keep £20 note and have given nothing back in return. How does that work and why does it need by date. Clearly explain why there is no mention its NOT REFUNDABLE on the voucher as that makes it non valid claim and a scam where I would have told you where to stick that £20 voucher. Lets see how the ombudsman deals with this. Also learnt today if you do not make a call in 3 months all PAYG credit get erased as i spend many months overseas

If I could give them 0 stars I would

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Signed up for the €20 a month package and within first week was charged €80.
For some ‘out of package’ products, they charge 200 times what the likes of Three charge. Go elsewhere, Tesco mobile is a scam

Stealing money from customers …

Absolutely annoyed with the way things run at tescomobile. Long story short - I was charged 3x€10 for attempted top up that hasn't gone trough as simply I kept missing one digit of the phone number. Despite contacting my bank and sending them a proof of the transactions nothing can be done. I wonder how many people has been robbed like myself ...

So I signed up for an unlimited data package with these
people, twenty-five euro a month. To be honest I never look at my bills to do so I would have to sign in to "My Tesco Mobile" fat chance. I have been with Tesco for a few years and never missed a payment, In all that time they never contacted me once except by automatic text. I get so many dodgy texts from all sorts of scammers, I gave up looking at them a long time ago. It turns out that "unlimited" does not mean unlimited when you are dealing with Tesco, My last bill was 280 euros. It's a horrible feeling when you realise you have been scammed.

Very bad experience.

I spent a lot of time giving all requested/required information to Tesco Mobile, so they could 'Port-over' my current number to my new Tesco account. I was assured this would be done the following morning, however it was not. I subsequently received bills from my previous provider weeks later, who also told me that Tesco Mobile Ireland HAD NOT 'ported-over' my old number. Because of this, I missed several important phone calls & had to pay for two service providers for over 2 months. Extremely poor customer complaints department.

I transferred my phone number to Tesco…

I transferred my phone number to Tesco Mobile due to the expiring contract in another company, after receiving calls from Tesco on December 27, I was given the opportunity to call, then for unknown reasons they closed my account on December 29 and left me with no contact, I tried to contact them probably 10 times, no regrets August, the consultant could not provide me with any information, informing me that I would be contacted by the manager who never contacted me. Three weeks later, they wrote me an e-mail that I had to pay the bill for the period until January 15 for the phones that they blocked me, this is the height of insolence and Hamstawa, these are scammers and thieves, I took the matter to Ofcom, think before you take something from Tesco Mobile
