Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 352 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the products, describing them as dry, stale, tasteless, and sometimes greasy, leading to many items being inedible or thrown away. Reviewers also frequently cited issues with order fulfillment, including exceptionally long wait times that far exceeded initial estimates, and receiving products that were poorly packaged or smaller than expected. Furthermore, many people were dissatisfied with the company's conduct on social media, reporting that complaints were met with rude responses, blocking, and a generally dismissive attitude from the staff. Conversely, some people also felt that the products were delicious, generously sized, and well worth the wait, praising the taste and texture of the bakes.

The cakes were delicious!

I ordered in September, I was told it would be a 12 week wait. Thats ok, it turned out to be longer, nearly 6 months. I didn't mind, no rush. If you know they take a while its a lovely surprise when they arrive.
I started reading all the comments on here. Bad service, bad packing, bad cakes and the list goes on.
All I can say is...
My cakes arrived...
They were DELICIOUS!!
No problem with the packaging, the cakes were so big I cut each one into 4, they were not dry or damaged.
I will be ordering more.

Bad man, bad baker.

Waited well over 12 weeks for order, it’s currently at 21 weeks since I ordered and no sign of order as of yet. After doing some research I’ve also now seen this man making sexual remarks to young boys and also a video of him beating a dog with a stick. Avoid at all costs!

I ordered back on 20th September when…

I ordered back on 20th September when the wait time was a hopeful 12 weeks… which slowly turned into what felt like waiting for a limited-edition Halley's Comet return. Meanwhile, orders were still being taken like there was a secret bakery army I didn’t know about 👀
Fast forward to March — the box finally arrives. I’m excited. Genuinely excited. This is my moment.
I open the parcel… and it looks like it’s gone 12 rounds with Rocky Balboa.
Inside: four very… well-travelled cakes.
Cake #1: brownie with cornflakes.
Cornflakes had the texture of damp cereal left out during a British summer. No crunch. Just vibes. Also a strong note of “budget margarine” that lingered like an unwanted house guest. Bin.
Cake #2: lemon stuffed cookie.
Filling? Decent. Cookie? Back again with the margarine aftertaste. At this point I’m questioning my life choices. Bin.
Cake #3: old school sprinkle sponge.
Spoiler alert: margarine makes a reappearance. Honestly starting to think it’s the main character. Bin.
Cake #4: another brownie (nut-free swap — appreciated 🙌).
But by now I knew what was coming… and yes, margarine said hello one last time. Bin.
So essentially, I paid £20 for a tasting experience where everything got one bite and then a respectful send-off to the bin.
I’ve followed Terry for ages, really wanted to love it — but after finally trying them (and factoring in some recent life choices that have also put me off), I think I’ll be quietly unfollowing and moving on. Like a long-distance relationship that just isn’t meant to be 💔
That said… clearly some people are loving them, so maybe it’s just me and my anti-margarine agenda

I ordered from this man 5 months ago

I ordered from this man 5 months ago. After watching him talking absolutely vile and sexual to teenagers I thought he was absolutely disgusting, and apologising, saying he was drunk was certainly not an excuse to talk sexually to young boys.
Asked for a refund and heard nothing so it’s looks like I’ve lost my money

Bang average , dry and 5 month average delivery time

Thinks it’s acceptable for people to wait at least 12 weeks for orders which turns out to be over 20! , rather than stop taking orders for a while to catch up he would rather make people wait months ( greed! ) then do the sympathy vote with his followers , they are bang average and in some cases very dry , doesn’t wear a mask so spits over his cakes and why people order from him I don’t know doesn’t deserve a penny soon people will stop ordering

Foul mouth is one thing but the way he spoke to teenagers in a sexual way on a live and making excuses that he is drunk was a step too far. When I ordered it stated they was taking 12 weeks now they are over 20 weeks and infact taking 27 weeks far longer then I wanted to wait so have requested a refund. No reply to my email yet

If I could give this review no stars i would. Ordered in September and after waiting nearly 6 months to recieve dry bakes and icing stuck to the packaging. No care in how they are packaged either. And absolutely nothing special about these cakes to warrant waiting nearly 6 months for. When approached via email I was sent rude messenge stating its not there fault how it arrived it's the delivery people. Any negative feedback on social media you are instantly blocked. Absolute disgusting baker if that's what you want to call him. Avoid, avoid, avoid

This man has zero idea how to run a buisness as well as how to conduct himself to customers.
I made a comment on a post on the Cocoa kings Instagram a while back regarding his vile language & his reply back to me was " Go s**k a c**k Susan!! Needless to say he was deleted from their page & any posts he'd made regarding their products were deleted. He really is the most crude & rudest bitter man out there. His products are as disgusting as him.

Do NOT buy cakes off this man he's disgusting and dirty mouth towards children!

Do NOT buy cakes off this man. He talks sexual to children. Then makes exuses for his behaviour he was drunk and had right to stick up fo himself so let's talk sexual to young kids.

He told me in Nov 12 weeks wait now changed to 21 weeks.

He lies, hits dogs, lies for go fund me, he's a scammer. Not even told HMRC he's got a self employed business.

His wife just as bad.

He just deletes and blocks anyone who calls him out.

He then blames trolls for written reviews against him. Everything he's done is on him. He used the crap cheap stuff out shops. His cakes for £25 are awful so thin same cakes all time. The way he talks to customers is vile. This calling people pishflaps all time and even has that on his thank you cards.

Spend your hardworking money on someone who dose good cakes and don't wait months and months for 4 thin nasty cakes.

He's not took on anymore orders as he was told to get ones he's done out before takes any more orders.

He was crying yesterday no other people want to do business with him and no wonder.

He's going about reporting the video in TikTok etc but it's all over facebook for people who want to watch it.

He can now play poor me that will not work anymore when he's spoken sexual to children!!!

I was really disappointed with my experience at Terry Bakes. The quality of the baked goods was far below what I expected, especially for the price. Everything tasted cheap —flavors were artificial, textures were off, and nothing felt fresh.
Some items were overly dry, while others had a strange aftertaste that made them hard to enjoy. It honestly felt like corners were being cut rather than any care being put into the products.
I wouldn't order again.
Don't waste your money.

Avoid 🚨

Very poor service, waited 6/8 months for a mystery box of 4 bakes 😒 it’s an absolute joke & to top it off I’ve seen that he’s a pred & hates dogs 🤬😡
I’ve come to a conclusion that this guy needs reporting to the 🚨 and trading standards. Also needs reporting for fraud as waiting months for 4 bakes is outrageous!!!!

Awful in every way!

Ordered cakes with a 12 week wait accepted. Waited 27 weeks and they were awful.
I put them in the bin. When i mentioned on his social media i wasn’t best pleased with the bakes i got blocked. Very disappointed with the customer service, wait time and product overall. There is a very questionable video of him on the internet of him being awfully inappropriate to minors. Not good!

Well I came across this on Facebook my local expose page. I had no idea this man was so uncouth. We visited his shop when it was open was a bit odd then as it opened late and the cakes were not that good so we never went back. I certainly wouldn’t recommend them or buy from them again. Very concerning behaviour . Check it out yourself .
