Where to begin !!

Where to begin ! Slow speeds. Speeds not fit for 1 older person using wifi on a mobile, let alone several handsets and laptops utilizing the wifi. Signal abismal ! Even on the new routers they send out. 30-45mbps for 40 per month ?? Competitors offer 60-80mbps for 35PM. Others are 40-45pm for 250mbps. Customer services completely hopeless ! Promised to cancel the contract if they couldn't fix the issues. Low and behold couldn't increase your speed, didn't waive the cancelation fee. Months of agro after moving provider they still wanted several months of fees. Bunch of liars, incompetence doesnt even cut it ! Stay well clear of this " company " speeds are the worst in 2026 for a good connection

Potential fraud and no-one at TT is interested

A had a call from a scammer pretending to be TalkTalk. He was very convincing since he knew everything about my account - the different boosts, my telephone numbers and so on. The only way that info could be known is if they have been hacked, or someone in TT has leaked the information.
TalkTalk do not have a fraud department - it's handled through Compliants. Their telephony and chat are not fit for purpose regarding fraud.
After raising a complaint, a manager was going to call me. Nobody did. The same a second time - and again a third time. No complaints manager has called me back.
This is potential fraud and they are not taking it seriously. Appalling - do not deserve to keep any customers. Avoid, avoid, avoid

UPDATE - I have now left TalkTalk and moved to Rebel Internet. Despite platitudes and well worn phrases, TalkTalk still have no interest in investigating how my data was leaked, and no concern to give me an explanation as to why 3 complaints managers failed to ring me back. So far, Rebel have been a breath of fresh air

Horrible customer service

From the time I had the internet installed till today, the internet is off at night for a few hours and stuttering during the day. This got worse in the last 2 months which led me to leave the service today. I expect TalkTalk will contact me with more lies about if I stay they will fix it. Or they found a glitch and they fixed it. All lies. Go with Virgin broadband. 5 houses I manage have left TalkTalk for Virgin with no regrets.

Horrific experience, easy to sign up but prices go up significantly after initial sale contract. We had issues with the connection that were never resolved and wifi wouod occasionally momentarily disconect.
So very hard to cancel and hidden fees when leaving for notice extension and equipment return. Would not recomend.

It is almost impossible to get through to a real person and if you do they are always useless and after ages they transfer you to someone else to begin explaining everything again. They also can cut you off and a lot of the time you just cannot get through. It is worth paying a little extra and go with a premium provider

This company should be avoided at all…

This company should be avoided at all costs. My vulnerable, elderly mum was paying for a broadband service which she doesn't have. They were taking over 50 pounds per month from her when her actual phone calls were only at most £2.50p. Then they left her for over 8 weeks without a phone line and the nurses, Dr's and hospital couldn't get hold of her to arrange appointments and home visits. I have reported them to anyone who would listen. Think twice before you enter into any contract with this company. An absolute shambles. The staff have no idea what they are doing. This company should be investigated avoid at all costs!

Customer service, lack of communication, muting customers, belittling customers down the phone

Poor customer service especially the ones, who muted a customer, laugh down the phone to a customer, calling a customer stupid, useless, and a idiot too. Cause myself yesterday to have another small TIAs(mini-strokes) while trying to explain everything like a record player, trying to book another engineer to come out, where their TALKTALK engineer on Saturday couldn't be bothered to carry out the work, plus give me a NEW ROUTER and TV box plus retune both TVs as it was clearly started twice by 2 different customer service.
Well, BT Outreach engineer done everything, checked all equipment, sorted out the brown box with wiring up outside again as brown box was hanging. Had nothing but trouble since 2020 with all equipment , upgraded equipment was sent out but my money was coming out of my bank each month, plus I was out of my contract and only signed up for a new deal but as its given 14 days cooling off period last week, I cancelled everything with them. They are the worse internet provider going. Rude customer service full stop.
No communication with customers only when they are increasing their prices.

This company needs shutting down they…

This company needs shutting down they are an absolute disgrace every time you have to deal with them.
Updated to fiber and 2 engineers out in 2 days and left with the Internet not working saying it will come on in an hour no it didn't.
Rang customer service and on the phone for 1 hour 50 minutes and they say wait 24 hours and it will be on but no it's not.
Rang up again on the phone for for an hour nothing sorted we want an engineer out now and not to leave until it's working or cancel our contract we are not getting the service you offered.
We don't get paid having time off work to deal with this nonsense company.
All the staff read from a script they don't have a clue what they are doing.
They never call you back ever when they say they are going to they are just depressing beyond belief everybody should cancel and go somewhere else.
If you think this company is good wait until you have a problem the staff suck every last bit of life out of you they are useless and that's if you can understand what they are saying.
One had all the kids screaming and shouting in the background and house full working from home so disrespectful.
I run a business from home 3 days no internet 4th day tomorrow and still nothing sorted.

If there was a Zero that's what I would…

If there was a Zero that's what I would put on the review. I have had intermittent internet that goes on and off about 6 or 7 times everyday and Talk Talk will not fix the problem. They will not contact Openreach as the problem is the connection out in the street and the box on the outside of my house. This problem has happened before. Talk Talk told me to contact openreach myself but openreach won't do the work unless they are asked by the provider. So I will now be googling for a new provider.

I agreed to take over a contract when I moved into a new house. Wish I hadn't.
Trying to get onto app will not accept the e mail address to which they sent the information (latest will not accept my post code)
End June a 57 minute phone call. No success. Will call you back in 24/36 hours. No call back
Today one hour 7 minute phone call. Same no result. Can still not get on app.
If I had taken this contract out as new I would have cancelled and sent back router .
Awaiting next 24/36 hours for phone call.
Am I in my rights to cancel contract with such appalling service?

We lost connection on Saturday it is now Tuesday we have tried to contact Talk talk on several occasions still no further forward with even getting an idea of a date we will be reconnected. The staff are less than useless and seem disinterested. After taking legal advice I believe talk talk have broken their contract with us by not providing broadband as agreed. We have used talk talk for years without any issues until we had a problem but we are not being kept informed. I am registered disabled recently had major surgery which my post operative care is being done via Internet through the hospital. The stress of all this is making me ill. Thinking of using talk talk dont update open reach came it is the router which we told them on Monday but they wouldn't listen, now saying router will not arrive for 3 to 4 days. Given up trying to speak to advisor as they don't understand what you saying. Never had such atrocious customer service.

It's concerning to hear that you've been without service since Saturday and are still waiting for clear information on when your broadband will be restored.

We appreciate how important a reliable connection is, particularly given the circumstances you've described regarding your health and ongoing post-operative care. It's understandable that the lack of updates and delays in resolving the issue have caused additional stress at an already difficult time.

We also recognise your concerns regarding the support you've received and the handling of the fault, especially if the cause of the issue was not identified at the earliest opportunity.

TalkTalk is asbsolutely the worst…

TalkTalk is asbsolutely the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I have spent a month on numerous calls to them and to a new provider I was going to switch to. I cancelled the switch because Talktalk offered me 6 months free broadband. However, for the past 3 weeks I have been going to and fro between providers because the new company said the switch was cancelled but TalkTalk insisted it wasn't. I got promised numerous callbacks which never happened and one time the loyalty department hung up the phone because the situation was just too complex for her to deal with. Unfortunately you never get to speak to someone with English as their first language which only adds to the difficulty and frustration. They are now trying to tell me that it takes 30 days to cancel a switch which is absolute rubbish, especially considering thay have happily taken my direct debit payment.
The offer of 6 months free broadband has ended up being so stressful that it is just not worth it.
AVOID THIS COMPANY

Oh - and TalkTalk feedback - if you actually read this review please don’t just reply with your normal ‘thanks for your feedback. We take all complaints seriously’ drivel - pick up the phone and get the issue sorted.

Hi,

It's disappointing to read that what should have been a straightforward retention offer turned into such a frustrating and time consuming experience.

We understand your concerns regarding the cancelled switch, the conflicting information provided by different companies, and the callbacks that failed to materialise. Being left to repeatedly chase updates over a number of weeks is understandably frustrating, particularly when you believed the matter had already been resolved.

We also appreciate the feedback you've provided regarding the support received throughout this process. It's clear that the situation has caused a significant amount of inconvenience and stress, which has ultimately overshadowed the offer made to retain your custom.

Total outage of land and mobile service for vulnerable/welfare customer - 72 hours to fix it is their estimate

This vulnerable customer (my friend) had no landline coverage or internet coverage. So she could not make calls or receive them on her mobile or landline.
TalkTalk response was that it was Outreach issue and could be 72 hours before fixed! If you weren’t vulnerable or a welfare case then you would clearly have to wait even longer for the coverage to be restored…..but oh no TalkTalk can’t talk to you and oh no it isn’t their issue.

So you can see the response 4 days ago it how/when will this request for information be made as not had anything yet?!

Avoid at all costs …

I don’t even know where to start with this company. Incompetent and patronising to say the least. It wouldn’t even be worth it if it cost £1 a month. Just to touch the sides, they offer compensation due to complete loss of service for near 30 days then retract it and confirm it wasn’t a complete loss of service when they literally have no idea as their records of any calls/ emails / correspondence are all inaccurate. They leave you with ‘broadband’ that isn’t capable of one device using the internet without buffering, send an engineer out and then follow up with a call one month later alleging they are following up from a visit a few days ago. When you call to chase they then simply say ‘we will transfer you to cancellation as we can’t sort out the problem’ with absolutely no explanation. Every time you call you have to re-explain what the issue is. I honestly don’t know how they are an operating company taking peoples money as every single person I have spoke with is incompetent. When making them aware of how incompetent they are, they respond with ‘wow’ after further proving how incompetent they are yet again. I do not know how they are audited internally to get away with their conduct when speaking with customers. When you raise a complaint with an external company, they then refute any of your issues alleging their records show different and gaslight. This doesn’t even cover half of the issues I have encountered with them. Avoid at all costs

Replacement Router never delivered

After my router broke I was told I would get a replacement in two days. 3 weeks later and 4 separate conversations and "attempts" to deliver a router I still don't have one. I keep getting told it was delivered despite the proof of delivery being confirmed to be a mistake by Royal Mail. If I did not have a spare router lent to me by a family friend i would have been without internet for three weeks with no help from TalkTalk. Each time I have chased I have been talking for over an hour and taking time out of my day to resolve an easy issue. There has also been no mention of compensation until my third complaint. It should not take this long to get a replacement router.
