On Friday the 21st of February I took a Swan taxi at 10.00 am from 41 Mill Point Road to the RPH Admissions on Wellington St.
The driver was a man from Kenia, he told me. He was an honest man. The fare was $22.
That is the lowest fare that I have paid for a while.
I need a taxi very often to go to RPH because I have a very serious medical condition.
At around 12.30 pm on the same day, I took another taxi from the rank outside RPH on Catedral square to go back home. The driver was a young Pakistani. The fare was $29 and some cents. That fare was almost a third more than the fair that I paid to the Kenian driver in the morning. Why so much different in cost taking the same route with almost the same traffic?
I think the Swan drivers are overcharging us.
My advice to the Swan taxis users to check the taxi meter before start journey and complaint to the Department of Transport about this practice.
The dishonest taxis drivers have to be removed from driving taxis and get substantial fines for ripping off the customers.
Another taxi driver charged me $44 to bring me to my home in Mill Point Road, South Perth from Sir Charles Gardner Hospital
As you can see this is a very common practice.
Swan taxis should investigate these complains and deal with them harshly.
I have receipts to prove what I have been writing about.
I have a very serious medical condition and I use taxis all the time. I have too, but I do not like to be robbed.

Avoid this scam company

We usually hire a car from Perth Airport but this time we decided to get a taxi. We were going to Como which is quite near the airport (about 20 mins max). We new exactly where we were going as my daughter lives there and we have been several times. We took the first taxi in line which was a Swan Taxi and asked for a rough estimate. He said he couldn't tell me as it was metered although my daughter tells me they used to give an estimate and fixed price on their app. At first all OK but just before we got on the Canning Highway and 5 minutes from where we were staying in Como, the driver took a right and took us through the City and back on the Kwinana Freeway which is big unnecessary loop (a tourist route). We queried it with him when passed the Stadium and it was obvious he was going the wrong way but he said this was the right way to go. He said he knew where we were staying but googled it on the way. Eventually we did arrive but with a $60 charge - We asked locals what they have paid and the cheapest was $29 and the most expensive was $40 and everybody thought going through the city to get to Como was madness! We gave the company the benefit of the doubt, thinking they might not be aware of what their driver was doing, but no, they endorsed the practise and now you can't get a quote from their app. So avoid Swan Taxis and use another company - Our taxi back to the airport (using the proper route) has been quoted at $31 with Uber)
