It was perfectly fine. We were picked up, left the airport within 5 minutes, 5 minutes later we arrived at the car hire place. The pick up process was smooth but REMEMBER they don't accept AmEx! Nikos... See more

DO NOT USE SURPRICE!
Our car broke down on day three. It was already in bad condition with 130k km and a rattle, but the clutch failed and we broke down in the middle of the road. Surprice was not apologetic or helpful at all when this happened. They did not call me back after towing the car and would not offer a replacement car unless we went to Athens, which was 6 hours away at this point. They would not pay for another rental car, nor would they pay for fare to Athens to pick up the replacement car. On the phone, they blamed us for breaking the clutch before even inspecting it!
This has been a nightmare experience and cost us hundreds of euros in additional travel expenses. Under no circumstances should you trust Surprice. It will be more expensive in the end.

Extremely concerning experience
Extremely concerning experience – credit cards rejected, then €1,020.27 additional coverage sold
I booked my rental through DiscoverCars and arrived at the Surprice desk in Cagliari with physical credit cards, including a physical MBNA Visa Credit card in my name. The booking conditions stated that Visa Credit and Mastercard Credit were accepted for the security deposit, subject to the listed exclusions.
At the desk, my cards were rejected for the standard security deposit and I was left with the understanding that I needed to purchase the rental company’s additional coverage in order to proceed with the rental. I consequently paid €1,020.27, which included their Platinum Coverage.
What I find particularly concerning is what happened immediately afterwards. A €200 security deposit was then accepted on my Capital One card. The supplier’s own documentation records the €200 deposit at 16:35 and the €1,020.27 transaction at 16:36 — just one minute apart.
I subsequently raised a formal complaint through DiscoverCars and asked for an explanation of why my credit cards had been rejected for the original deposit.
After contacting the supplier, DiscoverCars informed me in writing that the supplier had not provided a specific written explanation as to why my MBNA/Capital One cards were rejected for the standard deposit before the additional coverage was purchased.
The supplier’s position is apparently that I purchased and signed for the coverage voluntarily. I do not deny signing the electronic paperwork. My complaint is about the circumstances that led to that purchase: my cards were rejected first, I understood that the additional coverage was necessary to obtain the vehicle, and a card that had been unacceptable for the standard deposit was then accepted for the reduced €200 deposit.
I have asked for a clear explanation of this inconsistency and have not received one.
DiscoverCars ultimately advised me to take the €1,020.27 transaction to my card issuer for dispute, which I have now done, with the supporting documentation.
For anyone renting from this location, my advice is simple: read the deposit/card conditions carefully, take screenshots before travelling, bring more than one qualifying physical credit card, and ask for any card rejection and its reason to be put in writing before purchasing additional coverage.
Based on my experience and the lack of a satisfactory explanation for the card rejection, I cannot recommend this rental company.
Update: DiscoverCars has now refunded the €191.62 Full Coverage purchased through its platform. However, the main complaint remains unresolved. DiscoverCars has confirmed that Surprice has never provided a specific written explanation for why my MBNA Visa Credit and Capital One Visa were rejected for the €1,200 deposit, yet the same Capital One Visa was accepted moments later for a reduced €200 deposit after I purchased €1,020.27 of additional coverage.
I raised my complaint essentially immediately after the transaction, while I was still at the rental premises. Despite this, DiscoverCars has relied heavily on the fact that I signed the rental agreement and has still not answered the central inconsistency.
I had used DiscoverCars before and expected to continue using them. After the way this case has been handled, they have lost my future business.
If other customers experience similar problems with Surprice in Italy — particularly involving card rejection, security deposits or pressure to purchase additional insurance — I would encourage them to keep all documentation and report their own experience to the relevant consumer-protection authorities, including the AGCM (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato).
Consumers should report the facts of their own case and provide supporting evidence rather than relying only on online reviews

I removed bad reviews on his business and he didn't pay me 500 euros.

Grow up as a car rental company and accept American Express as a payment card and dont screw customers over when they have no other choice but to pay extortionate additional prices when collecting the car. Note also that this car rental company is not actually at the airport, its a 10min drive or so away. Quality of car (Suzuki Swift) also very poor. Dont get fooled by the low prices, stick to Avis, Hertz etc

Fazit: intransparent, schlecht erreichbar, Fahrzeug mangelhaft. Lieber etwas mehr zahlen und direkt am Terminal mieten.
Not recommendable!!
The station is not located at the airport, as advertised, but in an industrial area. There are no instructions anywhere on how the shuttle works, and the shuttle vehicle has no logo—you simply can’t recognize it. Despite 10–12 attempts, we couldn’t reach anyone by phone.
Once there, we faced intense pressure to purchase additional insurance, even though we were already insured—we ended up paying twice. The car was very dirty, had no windshield washer fluid, and the low tire pressure warning light stayed on for the entire rental period.
Conclusion: lack of transparency, difficult to reach, and a subpar vehicle. It’s better to pay a little more and rent directly at the terminal.

### **Absolutely do not use Surprice Car Rental - DUBROVNIK AIRPORT CROATIA**
Last June, I rented a small car (Fiat Panda equivalent) through a broker from **Surprice Car Rental at Dubrovnik**.
When I arrived to collect the car, I was presented with a silver Renault Mégane estate, approximately four to five years old. The vehicle had **damage to virtually every body panel**, as well as damage underneath the sills on both sides.
Before accepting the vehicle, I carefully documented all the damage I could identify using my phone camera. This was somewhat difficult because of the glare from the bright sunshine, but I photographed the vehicle as thoroughly as possible. I also made sure that the Surprice agent recorded the existing damage on the vehicle's official damage check sheet.
So far, everything appeared to be in order.
Seven days later, I returned the vehicle at approximately **05:50**, outside the company's office opening hours. I parked the car safely in the designated area and, having inspected it, was satisfied that it had sustained **no additional damage whatsoever** during my rental period.
Approximately two hours later, while I was boarding my flight, I received a WhatsApp message from Antonio at Surprice informing me that the company was **retaining my entire €1,000 deposit**, allegedly because the vehicle had sustained new damage.
I immediately disputed this. I provided Surprice with my photographs and a copy of the original damage check sheet showing the condition of the vehicle when I collected it. My evidence was disregarded.
After returning home, I repeatedly requested documentation from Antonio/Surprice that would enable me to make an insurance claim. Antonio did not respond.
I subsequently contacted my insurer, who in turn contacted Surprice directly. Surprice eventually provided the necessary documentation.
It was only when I received the **vehicle return damage report** that I discovered what I believe was the basis for their claim. Surprice was attempting to charge me for damage that was **already present when I collected the vehicle**. Their position appeared to be that these particular areas of damage had supposedly been repaired during the week before I rented the car.
Fortunately, I had retained the original documentation, including:
* My photographs of the vehicle at collection
* The original damage check sheet completed by Surprice
* The subsequent return damage report
* Correspondence with Surprice
* The documentation provided to my insurer
I submitted all of this evidence to **VISA** and, after approximately 20 days, VISA refunded the **full €1,000** that Surprice had taken from me.
I consider myself fortunate that I had photographic evidence and the original damage documentation to support my case.
### **My advice: DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM SURPRICE.**
The experience was extremely stressful and, without the photographic evidence and the intervention of VISA, I could potentially have lost **€1,000 for damage that was already present when I collected the vehicle**.
**Avoid this company. There are plenty of reputable car-rental companies operating at Dubrovnik Airport.**
