Neat and Tidy: the name of the game

I look at my wife's computer when she has multiple windows open and I don't know how she manages to find things. Groupy keeps everything neat a tidy with the tabs easily accessible. Like Fences and Start...I don't think I could manage a screen nearly as easily as I can now.

Stardock support is non-existent!

Love Start8/10/11, but the support is non-existent.

I asked a simple question over three years ago. I didn’t get a response, so I sent a reminder - that was two years ago. Still no response, but yesterday I got an automated message declaring that “…the status has changed to Done”. Stardock support is non-existent!

Microsoft could not do this

Microsoft tried to add the features Groupy, and they couldn't. Groupy does one thing, and it does it well. It groups applications into tab groups. The tabs can be for multiple instances of the same application or different applications.
I always use Groupy with OneNote so I can have multiple notes close together.

Incompetent AI support from Stardock

I request a refund because I was double billed for the same product, I don't need information on software activation or how to use the software.

The AI software is bad but happily their live customer service is great. They responded quickly and resolved my issue. I am therefore changing my evaluation from a 1 to a 5.

Descapes 11

Descapes 11. It is one of my favorite programs, with over 4000 animations to choose from. I have 21 folders, each with about 115, set to change every 5 minutes. Sure beats a photo desktop any day. I highly recommend all Stardock products. No other developer comes close to the quality and choices that you can customize your software. Very reasonably priced

Invaluable in keeping my desktop organized

I've been using Groupy for many years, and it has helped me keep my desktop so much tidier and organized. I can create one or several groups and easily see all the open apps in tabs. Over the years, it's become very stable and easy to manage.

Start11, lack of professional support!

I contacted Stardock for support for Start11 because of two significant problems with it installed on a computer running Windows 11 25H2. I found that Support for Start11 is ONLY by a Community Forum. The persons I have dealt with have been unhelpful and even made silly responses.

As I recall, I called Stardock and pushed every button for perhaps every option and was not able to speak to ANYONE. I don't remember for sure if I was even able to leave a message. I cannot recommend them at all because of their lack of professional support for their own product!

Top - good tools for everyday use

Good software product - use it every day - one keeps the desktop clear by adding relevant things into virtual folders - Groupy allows grouping of multiple windows, which is very useful for everyday use.

I recommend Stardock software ;-)

Groupy from Stardock solves a problem…

Groupy from Stardock solves a problem we shouldn't even have. But it does a stellar job. It groups different apps in one window with tabs which allows you have a tidy virtual workspace. I use it with File Explorer (it's still better than the native solution), Office Apps, VS Code and others. Integrates well with dark and light themed apps too. I started using it a few years ago, and it's still relevant today.

It works well on both Windows 10 and…

It works well on both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and remains very purposeful—especially on Windows 11. There are lots of great options to choose from, and it provides strong window management controls that help reduce application clutter. I highly recommend it for developers.

That said, I have one major issue: Command Prompt windows. When the app auto-groups tabs, every new Command Prompt window gets grouped, and then it auto-scrolls through all open Command Prompt windows. I’m not sure what’s triggering it (maybe repeated scroll/return events), but it’s very annoying. Strangely, this does not happen with PowerShell—only Command Prompt.

Also, on Windows 10, performance can degrade when using Explorer tab groupings. It can bog down the system and causes frequent refreshing—especially noticeable with network shares. I’ve also seen Device Manager constantly refresh while this is happening. This issue seems specific to Windows 10.

Lastly, I’ve tried to report these issues, but support has been difficult to reach or communicate with.

Middle finger towards the customer

The nasty, disgusting practice of giving the middle finger to customers who decide to purchase lifetime licenses. If you think that a lifetime license includes all updates to THE SAME product, you are sorely mistaken—during updates, they will add a ridiculous suffix to the name and call it a completely new program. Examples? Start11 - they created a new version and added the suffix “v2” and treat it as a new product for which they are asking for money again. Fences - it was “3,” now they've added the suffix “v6” and are asking for money again. And the bugs are still there, and they are in no hurry to fix them, under any circumstances... Buying any license from them is a bad joke...
