I was refunded the purchase of my tv after getting notice that the part to repair was out of stocks. A larger Samsung was offered. However. It is too large for my cabinet. A smaller LG was offered. I... See more

If I could give this company a zero…
If I could give this company a zero star I would. I have been trying to get a claim settled for over a month now. When I speak to the claims representatives or service representatives, they tell me that everything has been processed. I spoke with a manager yesterday who quite rudely told me that I should be expecting my refund by end of day yesterday even though I received an email on Monday saying it would be in my emails by Tuesday and still today have not received anything. Again, I do not recommend this company.

Bad-faith claim handling: technician refused to install part they shipped — fridge still broken
Avoid this protection plan. I paid $295 for a 5-year Home Depot Major Appliance Protection Plan administered by SquareTrade and underwritten by Allstate. When my KitchenAid refrigerator's water dispenser failed (a covered mechanical failure - failed inlet valve), SquareTrade actually shipped the replacement part to my home and dispatched a technician.
Then the technician REFUSED to install the part. He claimed my reverse osmosis water supply lacked pressure. I disproved this on the spot, in front of him: I disconnected the supply line, ran it into a bucket, and showed it filled 4 cups in one minute. More than enough pressure. He still refused to perform the repair and left.
When I called SquareTrade to escalate, the rep told me twice the technician found "no problem" and then HUNG UP ON ME. I emailed video evidence. They promised a supervisor callback at 10am-12pm the next day. As of 1pm, no supervisor has called. The fridge is still broken.
SquareTrade also refused to honor their own 7-Day Service Guarantee in Section 4.G of the contract, which entitles me to $50 because the repair wasn't completed within 7 days of the initial visit.
This pattern looks systemic. The BBB profile shows 2,315 complaints against Allstate Protection Plans in the last 3 years. SquareTrade appears to use "no problem found" technician diagnoses as a routine way to deny covered claims - even when they've already shipped the replacement part in advance.
I've filed complaints with BBB, FTC (Report #201708996), Nevada Attorney General, and Nevada Division of Insurance. If you're considering this product: don't. If you already own one: keep every document and be ready to escalate to your state regulator.

These plans are garbage
These plans are garbage. Bought one for a used computer on eBay and when the computer failed, was sent back and forth between them and eBay before allstate basically said it was a pre existing condition and they wouldn't cover it. Then when I complained, they said it was within a 30 day no coverage period which makes the one year warranty not even a year. Waste of time and money.

I purchased an extended warranty from…
I purchased an extended warranty from Wayfair for a table and 6 chairs. It was to include mechanical/electrical, drops/spills/other accidents, and furniture finish. This was to be"premium" coverage. I ordered the furniture under an email that is no longer in use. I went to make this claim at the end of 2025(November), and Allstate just could not change my email. It took several attempts to resolve the issue. I finally was able to put in the claim on March 1st, 2026. Well, since the "issue" start date was January 1st...March 1st is more than 30 days. It was instantly denied. I don't know why this was lumped under the same issue. I finally called to have this looked at, and they just refused to cover the veneer damage that is supposed to be covered. They also indicated that they would never cover this again for the remainder of the coverage. My issue in January was them being able to pull up my warranty info...I did not relate the veneer issue until March. The customer service agent would not let me talk to anyone else. I asked to speak to a supervisor, thinking that this OBVIOUS issue on their part should not have had my claim denied. I did not get to talk to anyone else. The agent started another claim...that was denied, stating I was trying to change the dates. I submitted photos. Denied again. I was never able to file a claim because of Allstate's incompetence in verifying an email change. This is obviously by design to not have to actually pay out on any claims. I would not purchase coverage again. CLAIM ID:099148164132 and CLAIM ID: 044713974135
Update 5/14/26
I was only offered a refund of the warranty. No help with the damage to the table. It is apparently impossible to make a new claim, or fix their issue with the 1st one. Again, there is no point in purchasing a protection plan from Allstate. I asked the agent to call me back in a couple of days...maybe more time can help him find someone else within the company who can figure it out? Not resolved unfortunately.

Do not purchase!!!
If I could give a zero I would. I bought hearing aids for my mother with a 2-year warranty. After 1 year and 3 months I sent them in because they were not working. I spent over $1,100 total with taxes and the warranty. They sent me a check for $664 and told me to go buy another set because they were not able to fix them. When asked what happens to the other 7 months of the warranty I purchased they basically told me it was gone because the claim is closed. Now I have to buy another pair of hearing aids with a new warranty and I will be out of pocket almost $500. They are a scam. The phone representatives are in another country and you could barely understand their English. Allstate corporate office says well they're under our umbrella but we really don't have anything to do with that. I will never do any business with Allstate because you are definitely not in good hands.

Everything worked out
Everything worked out. It took a few attempts to get things done but everyone was helpful.
DO NOT BUY anything from them
DO NOT BUY anything from them. I wasted 2 hours on the phone with 2 different people. The first person stated there is nothing wrong with my TV—that it is my ISP. When I explained that the other 2 TVs are working fine, he refused to help me and stated I had to call my Internet provider. I asked to speak with someone higher up and I was pushed back into the main menu. The second person acknowledged that this is a known problem with my TV model and I need a repair. When I asked how this works with my extended warranty plan, she put me on hold and I was put back in the main menu. When I then tried to navigate the menu, I was disconnected. In other words, your plan will NOT BE HONORED. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY FOR A BOGUS PLAN.

NOT REAL HAPPY
From the beginning the individuals I had to deal with didn't seem to understand what was needed. The initial claim was closed after I opened it and I wasn't notified. When I tried to submit reimbursement is when I found it closed. I called got it straightened out then they send a check to the wrong address. I had to call back again to get it fixed and am still waiting for a check that should have been here 3 weeks ago.
