Solmar Villas- Villa Atakan

Solmar Villas were amazing from start to finish. Especially Elena Griffin, nothing was too much trouble for her.
We had a few issues with our villa such as, the smoke alarm batteries being low so they beeped continuously, the oven cutting out the electricity whenever it was on for longer than 10 minutes, the jacuzzi bath smelling of burning, the kettle boiling and not stopping, the water supply being cut off, the bath flooding the floor. Elena ensured things were sorted promptly and kept in contact even on her days off to make sure we were safe and happy on our holiday. I honestly think that if we didn't have Elena on hand to get things sorted, our holiday would've been ruined as things wouldn't have been sorted! Thank you Elena for all of your help, just because of how amazing you were we would definitely book through Solmar Villas again.

Terrible Villa, Terrible Company

Be very very careful. All is not what it appears with Solmar Villas.

Currently in dispute, though have recieved a patronising response to our complaint.
A villa in Albuffera, i presume they thought we were 21 year olds who are not really bothered. about acco.odation. We sre not. 3 couples in thier 50,s
Disgraceful. Plenty of other Villa letting Companies. 3.7 review score doesnt
reflect. I have given them 1. I will keep you posted. It could drag on a bit. ABTA next. Stay well clear

Despite having video and pictorial evidence of the poor cleanliness. poor maintenance, and poor service from Solmar, thay have offered us £75 per person as a full and final 'Goodwill' jesture.

This despite having to fork our nearly a £100 for pool towels which were not at the villa, along with no tea towels.

Clearly, someone knows very little about thre brand and Ad postings.
1. Filthy outside/ ground floor on arrival.
Dust pan collection. Glass, cigarette butts, chewing gum, paint from flaking

Numerous pieces of broken pool furniture/beds. Evidenced

6. Weeds some 12 inches tall around the pool terrace. Evidenced
7. Ants, plently of them on ground fllor on our arrival. Told we should not keep food on worktops as it encourages them. Evidenced. Patronising reply.
8. Broken showerhead, only useable with crsfty use of cardboard. In same room as broken non flushing toilet. Evidenced.

£75 per couple goodwill. Despite spending £30 per couple for pool towels. What a Joke.

Premium price, villa mis-sold

Deliberately chose a villa for kids entertainment which was listed as a separate snug space with tv and PlayStation, also pool table and table tennis. Booked with Solmar for UK agent reassurance and because their customer ratings seemed great at circa 4.5.

In reality ….. the villa didn’t have pool table or table tennis, no PS and indeed the snug room had been completely refurbished into a hall ‘a while back’. Raised with Solmar over the first half of our stay, apologies but acknowledged all facilities described didn’t exist.

Offered a modest part refund which we got after a couple of weeks of chasing on return. Spoilt the holiday and wouldn’t have booked had the listing been truthful.

Reviewing as potential customers should note that feedback scores have dropped a lot since the start of 2025 when we booked. It would suggest that service and quality checks are not what they were and we would be hesitant about using Solmar again.

Villa Polymnia Kefalonia.

Villa Polymnia Kefalonia.
Large villa with great outdoor space and great 15m pool. Villa itself was tatty, in need of refurb and not worth the cost. EVERYTHING needed to be replaced, outside and inside furniture either broken or very tired. A/C a health hazard and caused allergic reaction in one of our party so we stopped use, presumably in need of maintenance but like everything else not maintained.Luckily temperature wasn't too high during our stay. Solmar eventually gave part refund - we'd have preferred accommodation to be fit for use. A shame.

Great experience last year - but very disappointed this time

We rented a villa in Kefalonia last year through Solmar Villas and it was absolutely fantastic — no complaints at all. That’s why we decided to book with them again this year. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment.

We booked Stone cottage in Nisaki, Corfu. What we weren’t told is that an elderly man — probably the owner — lives in the same building, right above the villa. This meant zero privacy. His windows faced the pool, and for us, that was a serious issue — we value our privacy, especially when on a beach holiday.

On top of that, he would come out every morning at 6 AM to sweep the leaves, which meant we were woken up early every single day. It honestly felt like going to work, not being on vacation.

Inside the villa, the smell was unpleasant — like sewage — and that same smell was also near the pool. The kitchen had a strong musty odor, the cupboards smelled like mold, and there were lots of ants. Even if you left an empty wrapper on the counter, it would be full of ants shortly after. Very frustrating.

I chose Solmar again because I believed they offered a certain standard of comfort and reliability. Sadly, this experience didn’t live up to that at all.

Excellent service and Villa - exceeded expectations

Excellent communication from booking all the way through. Phone always answered promptly and staff so helpful. Transfer company they use was excellent, accommodating last minute changes, polite and very prompt. The villa was incredible, spotlessly clean, brilliant location, even better than it appeared on the website. The beds were so comfortable it was the first time ever on holiday I didn't miss my own. Unexpected mid week clean and towel change a bonus. Unobtrusive but reassuring text messages with contact details and reminders they were there if we needed them during the stay. Faultless.

The worst villa company ever

In 40 years of renting villas all over Europe this is without doubt the worst company, it used to be James Villas but now I know Solmar took over most of their villas they also have their same customer service (ZERO), we rented stone cottage in Corfu every photo and the description were so misleading it took 2 days for the very over worked rep to come and see us and all the problems, just one example was that we had a brick built Bar-B-Q at the villa which turned out to be a very small portable rusting one in a corner by the pool, while waiting for a response from customer services we looked to see if they had another villa empty we could move too and there was when the rep turned up with a laughable €20 voucher per head that was three adults and two small children as a way of an apology we told her that we wanted to move to another villa, she then called her boss who was on the island of Crete who told us under no circumstances could we move to another villa but if we wanted to, we would have to pay another five days on the other Villa which came to over another £500 which we be grudgingly had to pay to try and enjoy the last of our holiday and I said I would deal with this matter when we got back to the UK which we did and was sent an email from customer services saying they had reviewed the situation and was prepared to give us a £200 voucher as compensation towards another villa rental, this in my eyes was not good enough so I went to my bank and along with MasterCard we filed a complaint against Solmar the Bank refunded the original amount £640 and after 35 days Solmar accepted the judgement in our favour, so all I can say is never except what they think they can get away with.

Pou uno villa Majorca disgustingly ant infested

The villa we rented for a family holiday is literally infested throughout with ants. Its absolutely disgusting. They are in food cupboards coming out of sockets. Coming out of walls. They were all over the childrens toothbrushes and bedding running everywhere over the villa. I telephoned solmar villas several times during our stay informing them of the issues and was told one of their site maintenance team would get back to us but guess what they never did and we are still in the villa and it's still full of ants. Its that bad we had to throw loads of food away as the ants got inside the packaging.

Update Suzanna from Solmar has been out today our last day with 2 x ant houses for a 5 bedroom villa infested over 3 floors and outside with thousands of ants absolute joke. She even had the audacity to say "keep on top of the crumbs" absolutely laughable when we've spent a fortune on ant houses and bottles of disinfectant the absolute cheek of it.

I am updating this review to let people know this company are a disgrace and liars. They have made up a fabricated story trying to tell me that the villa i paid over 3000 for, for a week in majora wasn't infested with ants. Its a lie and a disgrace DO NOT book this villa it's awful the pictures are so old and outdated and everywhere is ant infested. I only write honest reviews to help other travelers and this company have responded to my complaint to say they haven't had any more complaints about ant infestations then I go on Feefo reviews and there it is Tanya's review what does ut say ant infestation it also says cocroaches but we didn't see any of them.

Its laughable because on one hand they say no reports of it then in the next sentence they say they have pest control out at least once a year so which is it. Don't book this villa and to be honest dont use this company they are shocking

Not as advertised …

The companies pre holiday support wasn’t bad but we did receive a phone as outlined. This meant we had an early flight 9am arrival but couldn’t get into the villa until 4pm. When we contacted them they suggested we hang out at a local bar with our son.
They did help move the check in to 12pm but we still had to kill two hours. I think the phone call would have prevented all of this.
The advert wasn’t accurate because the villa was immaculate and like a high star hotel and had quite a few elements that weren’t great.
The villa owner did pop around to look but didn’t change much and the furniture was tatty
The mattresses were rock hard and it was like sleeping on a wooden box with a yoga mat on top.
Also, the pool guy would just let himself in and my wife was sunbathing topless.
He would then leave a hose in the pool and ask us to turn it off after 30 minutes.
We paid several thousand pounds to stay at this villa and it wasn’t worth it

I haven't been on holiday yet but I can…

Update - After a little prompting on this site, Guest Care have been in touch and resolved my issues, which is why I have amended my rating. The team I dealt with Sam and Ellie were very helpful and updated my booking quickly and efficiently.

Update - contacted guest care as instructed. Spoke to a lovely lady and gave my concerns. As of now still no response!!!

I haven't been on holiday yet but I can say I find the Customer Service supplied by Solmar Villas 0%. They do not reply to emails even though they are good enough to ensure payment emails are sent! I book villas every year and this by far has to be the worst company I have ever dealt with regarding dealing with queries. They just ignore you! Why should the customer have to chase up constantly. I will probably get a response saying please contact our Customer Services (Well no as they do not reply!) Just because we are not travelling in the next few days it doesn't mean our queries are not important or invalid.

Untrustworthy Thief's

Booked a villa last year. When the balance was due the price increased by over £1000. Requested a refund of money that had already been paid. Still waiting for a refund that was promised a year ago!!!! Very poor customer service, unprofessional. After numerous calls and emails issue has still not been resolved. I would not recommend booking with Solmar

Villa Nastazia - Kiotari. A great base to explore Rhodes from.

Really lovely villa - clean, comfy, great pool and well placed for restaurants, cafes and travel to other parts of the island. Emma from Solmar called in at the beginning of our holiday and recommended a road trip, beaches, restaurants ++, all of her tips were excellent and added a shine to our amazing family holiday on Rhodes. We would return to this same villa and town and would recommend.

Villa was clean and well maintained but very poor communication by Solmar

Villa was clean and well maintained, but could do with a refresh. The bedding and towels could have been much better.

The biggest disappointment was the poor communication from Solmar. I had to call 6 times in total to resolve a check in issue. I received a email 24 hours before we arrived to say they didn’t have all my (and the other guests) details and would not give my the access code to the key safe. It wasn’t until I went completely Victor Mildred that it was resolved.

Villa Pletessa Nova, Majorca

Not sure where to start! We booked our villa through Jet2 however the villa is a Solmar Villa and the issues raised needed to be resolved by them. We booked this villa, when we arrived the air con in the main bedroom did not work and the fire alarm also was not working as it was continually beeping. This was reported every single day of our holiday and nothing was done by Solmar Villas! Jet2 contacted them but they refused to do anything about the issues raised. No air con and no fire alarm I would assume would be a priority to Solmar but this was not! We had to sleep with temp over 35 with no air con. We picked this villa because it stated it has air con! The villa is also infested with ants and flies. The kettle has some insects living in it! watch out for that! The insects were coming from the window frames. A lovely villa but very very run down. such a shame

UPDATE!! Solmar to the rescue!

Edit: credit where its due. Within 2 hours cleaners on site, beds made up, fresh towels delivered, ripped cushions replaced. Im pretty impressed.

Story is after turning up at our villa after a delay in Gatwick, we found that the villa had not been cleaned, no bedding or towels, ripped outside cushions on the table and chairs. Called Solmar, they were quick to respond and everything sorted. To our amazement, woke up this morning to find new outside cushions. Wow. Thanks Solmar, that's service.

Villa Eto in Playa Blanca…

Review for Villa Eto in Playa Blanca booked through Solmar Villas. This Villa is absolutely amazing. We were a family of 6 adults and the Villa sleeps 8. It is extremely tastefully and well decorated plus spacious both inside and out. It has a large covered outdoor area containing a pool table, table tennis and dart board. A multi gym in the corner plus a hot tub. The pool is heated and has more than ample space for the 8 sun lounges. The outdoor dining area was covered plus a brick built bbq. There is also seating and extra sun loungers on the balcony. Aldi is a 30 minute walk away to which we did for main shop then got a taxi back for €5. Next smaller supermarket was 10-15 minutes walk away. Approximately 30-40 minute walk to the centre of playa blanca with all restaurants and shops or a taxi for 6 was around €5.40.
The villa owner, was amazing, and took time out of his working day to go above and beyond to help us with a few minor issues we had. All in all, we had a fabulous week and would’ve loved to have stayed longer. Would definitely return and recommend anyone thinking about it to certainly book.

Five Star Prices with Two Star Service

This was originally two stars but now reduced to one due to the inadequacy of the response. If they really cared about improving the guest experience then they have my email and my telephone number. They are just providing platitudes.

We booked a villa in Kefalonia, Greece for a week at the end of June/early July. The automated booking comms were fine and worked well.

The Support does not work as well. The 24/7 helpline (UK support) is poor. We sent a list of questions in the week before departure. We received an automated response suggesting a 14 day response time but that they would prioritise the calls depending on departure dates.

We waited 48 hours and resorted to the support line and covered our questions with an agent who promised to get back to us. We still have yet to receive a response to either the initial email or the subsequent telephone call.

Whilst at the Villa we had an issue with towels and again used the 24/7 support line which to be fair resolved the issue within 24 hours. We had several other observations which we were going to pick up on our return but were asked to list at the time. We did this but have still not received a response.

Whilst the Villa was exceptional it is also available through other providers and if we choose to go back it won't be through Solmar. They do not appear to either have the capacity or capability to deliver a five star service.

Avoid Solmar Villas: frustrating, impersonal and not worth the stress

I usually rent villas on the Greek island of Kefalonia every summer, and this year the villa I selected (unfortunately) happened to be managed by Solmar Villas.

After booking and paying in full two months in advance, the flood of emails began: 16 CRM-generated emails from a no-reply address, most of them low-value content. The real kicker? The actual check-in instructions never arrived.

Solmar only offers support via a UK number (+44), which meant multiple time-wasting international calls. Each time I called, I was told the same thing that I hadn’t submitted my flight number. And each time, I clarified that we were arriving by boat, which I had clearly stated in their form (and can still see when logged into their portal). Apparently, their automated system doesn't register this correctly, so the check-in email never triggers.

Even after several calls and explanations to different team members, I still had no entry instructions when we arrived at the villa. I had to make yet another call to finally get access.

To make things worse, unlike every other villa we’ve rented in Greece over the years, no cleaning or towel/linen changes were included during the stay. This came as a surprise given the premium price and positioning of the villa.

This is exactly the kind of stress and disorganization you pay a premium price to avoid. Solmar’s broken automation, lack of proper customer service, and impersonal, spammy communication made this the opposite of a luxury experience.

Solmar's Villa Kiotari

We stayed at Solmar's Villa Kiotari Sun for a week and absolutely loved it. The villa is modern, stylish, and perfectly maintained, with a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax. Its location was ideal—quiet yet just a short walk from lovely cafes and restaurants. It was the perfect getaway for my partner and me; we’d happily return.

High admin costs

Hi
We used this company for a recent stay in Portugal . A link was sent to us prior to our stay which would not open via email . This was for the workings of security safe , gate ect . We called the office and they said they would re send this but it never arrived …
Hob of cooker was broken I emailed them but it was never answered and we never received a call on this . when the cleaners came to change towels in the middle of our holiday they did fix this issue . Microwave was broken and again cleaners helped with that getting a new one . The air con was broken in the living room in 40 degree temps again had to wait for this to be fixed . Very difficult with two young kids .One of our party left a hair dryer on departure . Called office and they said it was no problem .I agreed to pay postage and packing they said they would get back to me . I called them again 4 days later . They said yes a maid has it . And then sent an email saying that 50 pounds had to be paid before they could tell me how much postage and package would be . Couldn’t believe it . I am happy to pay postage but a 50 ponds fee when I have been the one chasing this .

We are sorry to hear that you had some issues during your stay also that you left your hairdryer. Once an item is found, we make guests aware of the admin charge before taking the item to the post office for a postal rate. Guests can then decide if they would like the item returned or not. Once this is agreed a payment link is sent for the full amount. Please do let us know if you require any further assistance.
