This is the second time I have rented a car from Sixt for International Travel. Both times I received a very nice upgrade on the vehicle for no additional cost. I chose Sixt because they had the most positive reviews at the locations that I rented from which was Paris on the first rental and Bari Italy this time. The check in process was very welcoming and hassle free. I have always declined additional rental coverage and was a bit worried when I picked up my car in Bari as the were numerous abrassions in the clear coat. I documented everything on my phone but it never was an issue after i returned the car. Seems like every rental car co has some issues but my experience has been very good and I will continue to look at them first for my rental car needs.

Right from the booking by NRMA in Sydney I was kept advised by SIXT of where to go and what to expect. At pickup the staff member was efficient, professional and friendly. Top-notch Customer Service
As a first time user of SIXT. I have to say the customer service was a top notch stand out front other rental agencies I have used. My initial vehicle had some technical issues with my mobile device and would not work effectively. did not fit my requirements. I reached out to a passing agent in the rental lot and he quickly assessed my situation and not only acquired another vehicle for me, but provided an upgrade and very quickly so that I was able to made scheduled appointment with my colleagues. Disappointing pick up experience
Disappointing. I prepaid for a golf , I was allocated a 1 ltr Skoda fabio which SIXT acknowledged was not fit for purpose, then after challenging was offered an upgrade to a small SUv (T-ROC) from a VW Golf at twice the price we had already paid.
Sixt seems to think they were hero’s in eventually not charging the alleged “upgrade” cost and “discounting” to the original amount paid and failed to accept that given I had prepaid for a specific car, that they should have planned for that car to be available given the notice given, and that I might be a tad disappointed that they doubled the cost which other people might have just accepted.
Every step was an upgrade opportunity and not a customer experience, Just give me what I paid FFS.

Great car rental experience
I had a reservation with another car rental place that was trying to require me to purchase insurance despite my proof of full coverage insurance. I went to the Sixt counter next door and was met with a friendly, smiling customer service rep. He could have really bumped up the price since it was last minute, but instead he worked diligently to find a great car for a great price- about the same as the other rental. It was quick and easy! If I travel to the Tampa area again, I would gladly rent from them again.
Very frustrating experience…
I had a very frustrating experience with Sixt and will not be using them again.
I was charged for tolls even though I was using my own transponder during the rental. I provided detailed documentation, including my SunPass statement, clearly showing that the tolls were already paid through my personal account.
Sixt responded by claiming that their transponder “took over” and processed the charges instead, which makes no sense—especially since I never requested or authorized the use of their toll service in the first place. On top of that, they attempted to charge excessive administrative fees for something I did not opt into.
After I submitted proof of payment, they completely stopped responding. Instead of resolving the issue, they escalated it by sending the charges to a collection agency.
This is unacceptable. Poor communication, lack of accountability, and unfair billing practices. I would strongly caution others before renting from Sixt.

Very professional car rental agency. They have capable front office managers (in my case it was Tarik). And they sincerely guide you with genuine details.
Their rates are relatively reasonable. Their instructions are clear and they have excellent condition cars.
I felt assured renting Sixt at Frankfurt Airport.
SAD Experience
Following the return of a rented vehicle, a damage report was sent to me from the rental company. The report indicated that the left door of the vehicle had sustained a scratch.5 Cm to 10 Cm
Prior to taking possession of the vehicle, a video recording was made documenting its condition. This recording served as evidence to dispute the damage claim. Despite initial stress upon receiving the report, the matter was subsequently resolved and the case was closed.
I was chocked that no staff was witness before taking the car. And during my trip I was run out of washer water screen. Tank was empty
