Shady company - Doesn't seem legit

This company is scamming...

- I have a recent background check from Checkr completed last month, and they want me to pay for another one from the Checkr, as well! (At Sittercity, the FAMILY pays to be on the site and in exchange get to run FREE background checks.)

- They haven't proven they have any nanny/babysitting jobs in my area but 2 church childcare jobs...yet they are not a faith-based organization, so how can they allow people "off the street" to apply for Church Jobs" without knowing their faith? - I've worked in children's ministry, and the church expects you to teach about their faith!

- They won't let you apply for jobs if you don't do a background check FIRST! - If I interviewed with a family, and they want to hire me, I "might" be willing to do another background check, except that...

- This site TAKES A SERVICE FEE out of our hourly rate! It claims to be an "agency" that charges families an upcharge so that we don't have to reduce our rate.

- Lastly, they start with a brief quiz to check knowledge of infant care...I've been an infant/toddler preschool teacher, and know my stuff, but THIS SITE FAILED ME...preventing me from applying to the exact age range I'm an expert with!

I recently decided to delete my account…

I recently decided to delete my account on SitterTree, and I am glad I did. I have a 5 star and have been on sittertree for a couple of years now. It seems like SitterTree only cares about its star reviews and neglects COVID-19 safety. To Parents and Centers, If a sitter from SitterTree is sick with COVID-19, they will not inform you. I got sick and had to cancel 3 days of work at a center (which i though was a flu). I believed at the time that I was following proper procedures for safety, not only for the staff but also for the children. I contacted the daycare center to let them know that sick and unable to come in and they understood. However, I had to pay a fee for the cancellation. It was explained to me that due to SitterTree's commitment to quality on their platform, users are required to maintain a certain quality standard to access the app. As a result of my three last-minute cancellations within 90 days, I was restricted to "Favorites Only" and was told that due to high call volume (which I know is a lie because I know someone who works for them), they are unable to schedule a call with me regarding my account. I am unable to even log in to my account and not able to see my favorite postings.

Considering the current high cases of COVID-19 again, I firmly believe that I made the right choice. Unfortunately, Sittertree does not care for the safety of others. I will be using another app for which I have already been booked. Stay away from this app, and to all the sitters, be careful with the centers that are posted there. It is a disaster!

There are families and church groups…

There are families and church groups who post jobs on this site that are not very kind. There is not enough representation in managerial positions and online marketing. On the site, it claims that diversity is valued, that not true.
